Doubtful. Also, some objects can be difficult to Soulcast (see Shallan and the stick, in WoR).

The Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon
SilverTiger replied to Chaos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My questions: 1. How many Parshendi forms are there? 2. How many forms of power are there? 3. How many Parshendi songs are there, and will we see any of them in their entirety? -
I don't think Soulcasting can happen that fast, and the gems in fabrials run out of Stormlight quickly. Soulcasting requires a period of time to enter Shadesmar and then to convince the object to change.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
SilverTiger replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
No, I mean that I actually had that train of thought. Anyway, a Hemalurgic spike ingested via drink doesn't sound very plausible (although, I'm not part of that weird Hemalurgy research group, so my knowledge is limited). -
I want to know what'll happen next... But unfortunately, my getting the book is dependent on my grades. Unless I can find enough money to but it myself. Does anyone know how much it costs (American dollars) as a hardback? Also, I think that Jasnah will be one of the Interludes directly after part one. Because her return will need to be explained to everyone who didn't read the Tor excerpt or is on 17th Shard.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you hear a reference to spiked drinks and immediately think of Hemalurgy. And then wonder how you could conceal a hemalurgic spike in a clear glass. Unfortunately, it actually happened. -
Kelsier and Vin are Mistborn. In an all-out battle, then they would both be able to defeat Wax. Also, Wax has a sense of fair play that Kelsier definitely lacks.

The very last scene in the Emperor's Soul is always an amazing one.

@CaptainRyan, I kind of agree with you. I was thinking more along the lines of building regional amplifiers in Arelon, Duladel, and Teod. Also as embassy buildings. At the very least, though, it would allow for precise Aon-teleportation by providing known measurements for the Aon's modifiers. Which does count for something, at the very least.

And also an argument against it, because if Wax and Kelsier are battling each other, then it would be ~300 years after TFE. And Kelsier would definitely win, Fullborn or no, because he's a Mistborn. Wax is only a Coinshot.
-
I don't mean an exact replica of Elantris, but building regional amplifiers seems possible. Clothing, amulets, etc. are a bit more unlikely, but who knows?

Didn't he make the Bands of Mourning? Because that would make him a Fullborn, and therefore capable of defeating Wax with great ease.

I think flutes are mentioned in the prologue of WoR, and the Parshendi have drums.
-
Maybe it is very difficult to construct/program (as in, there's more to it than just building an Aon-Rao shaped structure). But it is more possible for them to build a series of smaller Elantris-structures that act as regional amplifiers, and connect to Elantris, kind of like an electrical generator and conduit system. It would also provide them with set teleportation areas and formulas, as an added bonus.

Kelsier, because he has had the most time to practice (3 centuries or so).

I can second the Belgariad (also Belgarath the Sorceror and Polgara the Sorceress, same author) and Dragonriders of Pern series. Actually, Anne McCaffrey's other series are great too, such as To Ride Pegasus and Decision at Doona. But those are more scifi than fantasy. Also, Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit are good too, but I wouldn't recommend the Silmarillion unless you were really into it. If you don't mind outright religion in books, there's a good angels v. demons trilogy by Chuck Black (Cloak of the Light, Rise of the Fallen, and Light of the Last).

Mystery Project in Sanderson's Status Bar
SilverTiger replied to Exalted's topic in General Brandon Discussion
He could have simply renamed the Dark One, or it could be Silence Divine (Ashyn story, magic diseases, in Rosharan system). -
Do you mind if I ask you about your religion, or lack thereof? If not, then why are you an atheist? What do you believe created the universe? Honestly, I'm genuine curious about this sort of thing, as I am something of an amateur theologian.

I think that's called "baptism of desire", which means if you really, truly were a good person, then your desire for righteousness is a baptism of sorts, and you will go to heaven. I think. And this is Roman Catholic view, by the way. I can empathize with you. I have been suicidal, and my religion is what keeps me going when I start heading back to that dark place.

Um, I always thought that the Scouring happened after the Recreance, possibly around/after the time of the Hierocracy. It was mentioned that lanceryns, greatshells with gemhearts from Aimia, were exterminated during the Scouring and may have been part of the cause (greed). --Edit-- Crazy thought, what if the Scouring was the reason for the Recreance? That's a theory that hasn't been proposed, I think. But it kind of makes sense... ish.

Gee, how'd you know?

My pet peeves? Well, first would be authors who try way too hard to make their books seem diverse and inclusive and non-racist or -sexist and stuff. It is not the right way to approach writing a book. The second pet peeve is people who blame the Catholic Church for stuff a few priests/brothers did, or stuff that it did centuries ago. It does a lot more good today than bad. Another pet peeve of mine is the myth of the Dark Ages= Medieval Era. The Medieval Era was actually really good for people, but some group that disliked the Church later on (the Church had a lot of good influence in the Medieval Era) tried to cover it up by calling it the Dark Ages and saying they were bad. True history, people.

Controversial Opinions
SilverTiger replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and Divergent: all are overhyped and not very good books (haven't seen the movies/tv show). While we're at it, Rick Riorden's books aren't all that great. The first two series (Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles) were okay, the rest suck. The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and Chronicles of Narnia are awesome. I actually have some very-early-edition Narnia books (possibly first-edition), which makes it better. And The Silmarillion is a great book which I have actually read the entirety of. Most books labeled classics are awful. I hated Lord of the Flies. Shakespeare's good, though.
