Who Are The Most Powerful People/Beings In The Cosmere?
SilverTiger replied to Patar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Kelsier would be pretty high on the list, as a Fullborn with minimal morals. Harmony (or maybe Hoid) should sic him on Odium. -
Gold and electrum are both pretty expensive, and the Allomantic alloys might be expensive just because they're so precise in the metal percentage, and Allomancers need them. Same goes for Feruchemists, who would also need those expensive metals.

unmade [OB] Those who were made, then Unmade.
SilverTiger replied to Oathforger's topic in Stormlight Archive
If the Unmade were originally splinters of Honor or Cultivation, but were then corrupted by Odium, then they would be red in coloration, not black, because of this WoB: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/173-oathbringer-san-francisco-signing/#e8340 -
The color red is indicative of one Shard corrupting the Investiture of another, as per this WoB: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/173-oathbringer-san-francisco-signing/#e8340

My current pet peeve is my two pet cats... I love them, and they are absolutely adorable and cute, but when I am trying to sleep at night, they like to use the rug beside my bed as their own wrestling mat, and the rest of my room as a gymnasium for games of tag and catch-me-if-you-can. And they like to chase my feet. And right when I start to get really annoyed, one of them lays down beside me and starts purring sooooo hard, that I don't get angry. Exasperating creatures, are cats.

Like, cowboys vs. cultists? Because that sounds interesting. Really interesting.

Could you please provide context for the technological level and culture of the people who use it? Because a magic system alone is pretty hard to work with.

I'll vote for @Ookla the Maccabee, too.

The Way of Kings cover is my favorite. There is just something about it... something awe-inspiring, something majestic, something more to it than the others. Even without all that, it would hold a special place in my heart anyway because that cover is what first drew me to read SA and eventually to the Cosmere as a whole.

[OB] Does anyone else like Jasnah?
SilverTiger replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh... Thanks for explaining. -
[OB] Does anyone else like Jasnah?
SilverTiger replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
I like Jasnah, she's one of my favorite characters. But, what is this about her being lesbian (and what does that word mean in the first place)? -
aimia Could Aimians somehow be related to Kandra?
SilverTiger replied to FanofAges's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In addition to what Yata said, Kandra are hemalurgic constructs created from mistwraiths, who were created by the Lord Ruler from humans. -
Elsecaller, maybe Truthwatcher. I like research, and I prefer logic. But I am very quiet and secretive. I would get along well with Jasnah, for the most part, I think.

Ancient fabrials used stormlight to pay the spren who operated it. The spren agreed to operate the fabrial, and the humans paid them with stormlight. Or something like that.

[OB] Who do you think the other Bondsmiths will be?
SilverTiger replied to teknopathetic's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe Queen Fen will bond the Nightwatcher (who does deals and such, and Thaylen are merchants) and Navani will bond the Sibling. -
Just a thought I had while reading this thread (which is a brilliantly written debate, by the way): What if the reason that Odium stuffed Devotion&Dominion in the Cognitive Realm, to prevent the power from gaining intelligence, was because Ambition's splinters had already gained intelligence? If Odium felt threatened by a small(ish, maybe a dozen or so) group of super-powerful Splinters, then he might have taken steps on his next kill to prevent more. A second thought: these Splinters could be the old ones that Silence referred to (I don't remember what she called them, though). Personally, Ambition's splinters being an imperialist-minded collective makes sense. Those who would conquer the world are, by necessity, ambitious. And Odium likely would feel especially threatened by an imperialist Shard.

Oh, I have them typed, just in a random jumble of thoughts. And there's all the vague ideas in my head. For instance: The Naryxi have Greco-Roman style pantheon with lots of deities, and also quite a few nature spirits (like dryads). Like star-spirit-things that I need a name for. How were the star spirits created? Well, the god of stars messed around with his older brother the sun-god, and from that union came the star-spirits. Don't ask how. That is kind of how my though process goes, which makes it really storming difficult to organize into an understandable wall of text. Plus, there are gaps in parts of cultures, and I've only really gotten the Naryxi, Astrelleans, and Nari bright-siders filled in. @Benjamin_Stormblessed, is your world on Creator's Corner? Because I like reading about other people's ideas almost as much as I like thinking about my own.

Thanks, I already have a map of Naratar, but it is about 4 sheets of graph paper taped together, so I can't scan it. The psychic gifts are a maybe, so there's nothing to really explain. No idea on a story, either. The cultures thing is problematic because I already have it all written down, but it is all jumbled up and only understandable to me (and maybe my sister). And I hate having to retype it all in one go. But I am going to anyway, and questions help.

Reserved if I need more space (probably for history).

Recently, my sister and I have been designing a world together. I have decided to post what we have on it here so we can get feedback. The world of Naratar is smaller than Earth, but similar in most other ways. It has three moons, the largest a silvery-grey color, a golden-yellow one, and a blueish moon which is the smallest. All three support life, including humans. Geography: (not very undertstandable) There is no magic on Naratar (although there may be pyschic gifts later on). The only sapient species are humans, as well. So, peoples and cultures. The Astrelleans- Proud, Independent, and Loyal Some more peoples/cultures, which will be expanded upon later. Lunar cultures: Will post more later. Questions please?

Kaladin Stormblessed vs Percy Jackson
SilverTiger replied to Housedunn's topic in Stormlight Archive
Something I forgot to mention earlier, Percy hasn't really fought humans before. Not to kill, at least. Just monsters that come back eventually. Kaladin is a seasoned soldier who is not afraid to kill other people. Also, Kaladin is in his twenties, and Percy is a teenager. -
The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
SilverTiger replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
@Briar King, it is snowing where I live too, which is also in Louisiana. Lafayette area, if you're interested. School was canceled for Lafayette and Vermillion parishes, maybe more. It is awesome. -
The Thousand Realms - Master Worldbuilding Thread
SilverTiger replied to Seonid's topic in Creator's Corner
@Seonid, have you drawn up a map of Edassa with political borders and names of things like rivers, mountain ranges, etc. yet? Because the map and geographical information in the Adventures in Edassa was a bit hard to understand with a purely geographic map. If you're still updating this thread, could you please do a geo-political map of Edassa? P.S. This is amazing worldbuilding. I'd love to read more.- 28 replies

Kaladin Stormblessed vs Percy Jackson
SilverTiger replied to Housedunn's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, Kaladin would win pretty quickly. Any wound he gets would heal, and he is a much better fighter than Percy. And he has Sylphrena, who can change into any weapon and a shield as well. Plus, Kaladin can fly, and he could stick Percy in place or send him flying upwards into outer space. I don't think the Achilles Mark will protect Percy from freezing or suffocating in outer space. -
This is actually a pretty good theory. Well thought out and nicely written. However, I disagree the the fear/sorrow pairing. It really doesn't seem to work. May I suggest an Ingenuity Shard instead? Its opposite could be a Knowledge kind of shard. Ingenuity is impulsive, Knowledge is more careful. Spontaneous creativity versus reasoned logic. I know, it isn't emotional, but it works better than fear and sorrow, and I really think that Adonalsium would need a lot of creativity to create the cosmere.
