Um, Roshar doesn't have dragons. Just greatshells. But there are dragons on Yolen, and the Dragonsteel chapters indicate that they are regarded as legends. And they are associated with demons, so they might not be very well-regarded either.

[OB] Creative Applications of Regrowth

Um, I think identity is more related to how people see the object than you think. Normally, when I see a book, I see a book, not a collection of adhesive, paper pages, ink, etc. So the book as a whole would have one bead, not many for the different parts (the Wind's Pleasure, a ship, had only one bead as well). Which might make things easier: find the book-bead, then convince it to become the way it was. We've actually seen something similar with Soulforging. Plus, scholars have thought about the books in Urithiru for ages, which might have helped maintain the Cognitive Identity over the years. -
Hmmm... yes, a lion (from medieval heraldry) could represent honor, although it is more connected to courage and valor. The dragon could be Odium, since there is a lot of stuff about dragons are representative of evil/sin/paganism in, again, medieval times (St. George and the dragon, anyone?). The lion and the dragon are opposite each other, mouths open, teeth visible, and not looking too friendly- Honor and Odium fighting. The use of a serpentine dragon is confusing though, given the medieval theme. Of course, I might be reading too much into it, or am completely off the mark here.

That does not look like a lion. Very interesting as a whole, though. Is this some inside artwork from OB?

If the books' retain their Cognitive idea of being a book, then Renarin could restore them to that perfected-Spiritual state. Also, we know that the Spiritual Realm is location-independent, so it could be time-independent. Remember how Adolin saw that perfected version of himself when Renarin healed him? That might help. Sorry if this is a bit incoherent. I'm not at my best in the morning. -
Do we have access to a copy of this timeline? Because that sounds like it'd clear up some confusion for everyone who works on the WoK/WoR timelines. And it would just be cool to read in general.

Some people have made a virtual globe of Roshar (planet), and Peter said it was pretty close, so you could try searching that. Although, I don't think that it was 1/3 the size of the planet. It managed to stay almost entirely in the southern hemisphere.

I don't think that Rhyshadium have horseshoes, since they have stone hooves.

1. I saw WoK in my school library, read it, went on to read WoR and MB, then went to his website in search on OB release date. Saw 17th Shard link, found 17th Shard, decided I had to read all of his books. 2. They make sense, scientifically. I like science, and it drives me nuts when I can't understand something, preferably with science. 3. I like Stormlight the best. 4. I would say about 6. 5. 9 or 10.

It is a bit difficult to write with hooves...

I really hope that he can restore the books... That would be so awesome, the rediscovery of so much ancient knowledge. Jasnah would be thrilled. -

I agree with that the second part of the book- everything from the Forgotten reforming onward- felt wrong. It didn't fit. Also, the whole Dari thing felt off. People don't turn on their families that easily. I don't think that many people would think destroying about 70% of the Aedin is a good idea either. The idea about the magics using people is a good one though. Especially if it could bring the other peoples into play more. I was looking forward to seeing more the sub-kingdoms' unique cultures. Also, other groups like the Shentis, Harrmen, Seaborn, and the non-human species, seeing how they felt about the conflict. After all, who says the Forgotten are going to leave them alone? It was kind of assumed they were neutral, but why? "The Forgotten are only after the empire" is a somewhat weak argument, when dealing with an apocalypse.

Very well-thought-out theory. However, when I saw the title, I immediately thought about L-space from Discworld. Maybe you should change the title...

Mystery Project in Sanderson's Status Bar
SilverTiger replied to Exalted's topic in General Brandon Discussion
It could be the story set of Ashyn (since he decided not to call it The Silence Divine). Ashyn being the planet in the Rosharan system with upside-down floating cities and magic diseases. -

[OB] Inside cover art!! Finally!
SilverTiger replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
I am Roman Catholic, so I guess we have two very different theologies. And where did you learn angels don't speak Aramaic? That sounds very arbitrary and random to me.- 321 replies

[OB] Inside cover art!! Finally!
SilverTiger replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
Not really... angels are spiritual beings, who technically do not have a physical form. They can't die, are very powerful, and work for God. The Heralds, from a Vorin viewpoint, are the same as angels. From a cosmere-aware 17th-sharder's viewpoint, they are completely distinct.- 321 replies

[OB] Inside cover art!! Finally!
SilverTiger replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yes, there is quite a bit of artwork that depicts ancient goddesses of beauty as completely nude, so an ardent painting Shalash in a revealing dress is unsurprising. Also, on ethnicities, Alethi are not "white", they are actually more Pacific-islander-colored, so think darker tan. Shalash may well be a good example of what Alethi skin-color is. Ishar's coloring may be skewed because of the moonlight (blue) and shadows.- 321 replies

First Thing You're Going to do With Oathbringer
SilverTiger replied to MistbornAlpaca's topic in Stormlight Archive
Buy it at a bookstore, read it the entire drive home, then lay down on the sofa due to carsickness. And read it some more (probably to the detriment of my school work and attention span). Also, spend most of my classtime theorizing here.- 46 replies
