SilverTiger replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
Right, so, are there any pictures of the back two pages? Because I really wonder what Jezrien and Vedel will look like.- 321 replies

The pictures are actually inworld pieces as well (painted by Oilsworn). So these will require analysis through Vorin lenses.- 321 replies

Thanks very much, Aleksiel. The higher resolution ones show multiple masks on the ground by Shalash, and the hooded men are holding the lanterns around Ishar. Also, Shalash's dress is somewhat see-through. The masks are more interesting, though. I wonder what they represent?- 321 replies

Can you link the source of this WoB (just curious, want to read it myself). Also, are there pictures of the back two we can see?- 321 replies

Oh, I just noticed, all three moons are visible behind the man. But only one is visible at a time in-world.- 321 replies

That dress looks odd. Like it is formed (or forming, given the mask she's holding) of some crystalline substance. Hmmm... crazy idea: could it be Shardplate? We already know Shardblades can change appearance, can Shardplate (a Sharddress)? It certainly doesn't look Alethi, actually, it doesn't seem to cover much at all.- 321 replies

This is a very stupid question, especially since I have been on the Shard awhile now, but what (if anything) does RAFO stand for? I assume it is an acronym of some sort, like WoB or WB, but try as I might, I can't decipher it. I know it means that Brandon is answering cause of spoilers, but that's mostly it.

It could be that an Unmade is controlling them, and as it is much less powerful than Odium, it can only control so many at a time (9 seems too few, though). I think Odium, who is a Shard, would be capable of controlling many people at once (see: Ruin and the Inquisitors and the Koloss).

Can I necro this thread, since OB is coming soon? It will surely bring more evidence about the Heralds, since Brandon did say that he wrote Edgedance so we could see what caused Darkness to change his mind. To me, that evidence indicates Darkness will show up in OB, possibly as Nalan'Elin to help Dalinar & co. in Urithiru. --Edit-- Annnd I was the last person to post earlier. A double post and a necro, just great. Sorry!

Kelsier (Mistborn Spoilers)
SilverTiger replied to Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me's topic in General Brandon Discussion
@Why_Do_You_Do_This_To_Me: you should definitely read Arcanum Unbounded if you like Kelsier. It has the story where he finds out about the 11th metal. Also, welcome to the 17th Shard, please have this very yummy chocolate-chocolate-cookie. -
Actually, a lot of people believe that voidspren are horrific monsters that are also hideous, then they might appear that way because that's how they are perceived.

Technically, God made us in his image, which means he gave us free will (among other things), which evidently includes being stupid.- 76 replies

I got Lurcher... huh. I always thought I'd be a copper misting. I am very good at hiding and not being noticed.
-
Have you actually read Arcanum Unbounded? Also, there is a WoB (Word of Brandon) that Earth nor any alternate Earths exist in the Cosmere. It may have been originally intended to be Cosmere, but it isn't. Please, which story are you refering to, though?
-
Actually, I think Dalinar's a pyschopath.

cosmere Technological Development and The Cosmere
SilverTiger replied to AntiqueArabesque's question in Cosmere Q&A
Underground railroads might work... all those Shardblades have to be good for something, right? -
A kandra with a super-dense muscular structure (for strength and healing) and steel (or titanium) bones and blades would work as Wolverine.

cosmere Technological Development and The Cosmere
SilverTiger replied to AntiqueArabesque's question in Cosmere Q&A
Yes, magical research probably distracts from scientific research, especially in places like Sel (Elantris), where magic is used a lot (also goes for Nalthis, Roshar). Places like Threnody, where the shades kill anyone who light fires (necessary for steam engines), have active resistance to scientific research (also goes for Taldain). Honestly, I'd say that the cosmere is not going to progress scientifically, because magic research will distract them. Scadrial has Harmony actively working to encourage it. -
Iron & Steel Misting is basically Magneto.

theory The Rest of the Shards and Where to Find Them
SilverTiger replied to Khyrindor's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yes, I am a Roman Catholic, but Brandon isn't sticking to an entirely Mormon point-of-view. The idea of God as having a certain amount of mystery to him is something a lot more general across religions. No one expects God is actually explain his actions, and all those Old Testament prophecies are certainly mysterious and confusing (very, very confusing). And can we please stop this argument on theology? It is getting a bit old and irrelevant to the thread's topic.- 76 replies

Okay, so Kelsier is holding a splinter of Ruin, got it after Era 1, and is currently not on Scadrial. We haven't met him as a splinter-holder, though.
