  1. You get a marriage, and you get a marriage, everyone gets a marriage! Based off this impromptu poll 100% of people support this idea so I'm going to assume that's a representative sample and go ahead and start planning this.
  2. Will mention it in the new thread. I know I say this a lot but hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to get that up.
  3. There will always be leeway, it's just a way to make the process a bit easier and more objective. For me the decision is ultimately with Archer, though I'll occasionally provide input, but if he wants to accept a character that's a little outside of the listed limit then I'd trust it was for a good reason. Can I interest you in a welcome-to-the-RP cookie?
  4. MTG is a great setting but it's way to broad and difficult to integrate here.
  5. Or we release Voidus and he officiates the wedding of Hellbent and Dusk.
  6. The presence of these numbers doesn't even have to be made public, we can limit the final list to mods if we want. Then we have an objective standard but it's not offputting to anyone, people can't minmax (Which honestly i don't see as a huge issue anyway, if that's how someone wants to enjoy the rp then let them, a limit ensures it will still be sonewhat balanced), etc.
  7. Which was fine and all, I mean really no harm done. Then Archer threw a pineapple at the barrier for the Worldspike and things got serious.
  8. We'll be creating a 'newcomer friendly' thread at some point in the near future, the guide I think is more useful for people who have just started and are looking for background but isn't as useful for people who are trying to decide whether they want to join at all or not.
  9. A majority of us seem to think that it shouldn't be mandatory, and I'm inclined to agree. Personally I'd say no character should really start off in a guild unless there's significant backstory reason to do so. Joining a guild would be a pretty influential moment for a character and probably something that's best done on-screen rather than in backstory. But that's just personal preference, I know it's not going to be something everyone agrees with, I just think it's a good opportunity to RP.
  10. This is a fair point
  11. I like it in concept as a really good basis of plot for an RP, I just don't see a reasonable way that the guilds would form something like this. There are some pretty deep moral issues between them all that are hard to let go. If they were just rival factions it'd be one thing but the DA literally steals peoples souls, I don't feel like that's something that people could just look past or try to work around.
  12. See my thought was more that any realistic member of TUBA would kill anyone from the DA that they came accross and would definitely not accept them holding power in a government. It's just very unlikely that they could cooperate to any degree ever.
  13. Again all this does is make it explicit, the 'system' is inherent in imposing a limit. I'd like to think new players aren't likely to be driven off by the mere presence of a quantification of sonething that has to exist. I do also have extensive experience in quantifying Epic powers if we want to make use of it, but if not then it can be estimated case by case. Cutting out some ambiguity is better than none.
  14. Guilds pre date the RP, I doubt that is likely to be accepted.
  15. Honestly? I don't think government is possible between guilds. I can't imagine the DA and TUBA in the same room drafting laws together.
  16. Here's the thing, as soon as we agree to place an upper limit on PC power we are using this system. All coming up with these lists is doing is precisely quantifying it so anyone can know that their character is reasonable or not. If we didn't have these numbers the calculations would still be done, they'd just be vaguer, less precise and prone to difference of opinion.
  17. I think minimal time skip if any. Maybe a few weeks so everyone can move out of whatever era ending plot we have.
  18. If anyone was interested in dying in agonising pain along with everything they've ever loved, this would be a great way to accomplish that
  19. I have contingencies planned if Voidus does get out to ensure he doesn't interfere. There will always be some in-game reason to justify that as well as the OOC justification that he doesn't interfere with people unless they come looking for him.
  20. If someone has personal reasons for avoiding this I'd hope we can all respect that and work out another solution, I'm also not particularly fond of the idea. Maybe as a plot point in the next era but it'd be really hard to sufficiently build that up in the time we have remaining. But especially if someone has personal issues with the plot, I'd like to move on to any other suggestions people have.
  21. That would be great, thanks. I'd like to hope that things will clear up in the next few days but it doesn't seem likely.
