I did think of that, but Tin also requires them to each be stored in seperate Tinminds, while I think that CopperMinds can hold more than one memory. Also with Tin (and bendalloy) there are discrete attributes (Sight, Hearing, Touch for tin Nutrition and fluids for Bendalloy) While Copper seems to be able to add any memory at all, I go back to my example of it would be like being able to store Strength from just one muscle, seems weird to me.

*Signs Petition then gets back on topic I don't know how I forgot about the Shaod only affecting those with Aonic sDNA. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted, so yeah basically I'm completely stumped as to how Elantris ever actually got built.
-
That one would seem to make the most sense actually, I have always wondered what could possibly happen with Feruchemists of different strength, obviously you couldn't just get more of an attribute when you tap as that would mean it was no longer end-neutral so yeah, I like this.
-
Yeah, I don't know because Copper has always been a bit weird in that it stores specific memories instead of just memory as a general attribute, kind of like only storing strength for one muscle. Anyway, I'd say that the only way it could degrade through that is that it would be as though he had left it out of his copperminds for a longer period of time, which wouldn't matter if his mind had expanded as it would presumably make the memories flawless again.

Well it would have to be sodium chloride not pure sodium, or he would spontaneously combust upon ingestion Edit: Never!!!!!!!! Double Edit: Also NaCl isn't a metal

No idea about how the Parshendi got Szeths oathstone, quite possibly they just bought him. As for Hoid giving him to the Parshendi, I think if Hoid needed Galivar dead he would be easily capable of doing it himself, he also doesn't seem likely to ally with the Parshendi As for how Taravangian knew so much about Szeth, the obvious reason would be spies. He did have six years to find out about him after all. But there could of course be a different explanation.

Does anyone know of a theory where the Skaze are actually posessing the Dhakor (Sorry to go a bit off topic, i've just been on the interview db and there seem to be a few references to them having a lot of influence over what they do, and it does fit with domination quite well as well as Wyrn being able to see the future, which he could probably do if he was posessed by a splinter) As to the Shaod, I'm still really unsure about this one. I think it depends what causes people to be taken by the Shaod, if it has no genetic component then I would think that there is a very small genetic ability of people to be able to draw Aons, this is why the original Aon Rao had to be so big, to be able to be drawn by so many people each of whom could only slightly draw Aons. That's about the best I can come up with without going into just completely baseless speculation.
-
If you mean due to natural memory decay then I assumed it was because the shards enhanced is mind as they did Vin and TLR allowing him better memory. Or do you mean because he drew years worth of memories in a single instant? I'm not sure on that front.
-
Actually the basic Aon (Aon Aon I'm assuming you mean?) Is two lines and a dot. Aon Rao does have the four cities though so that's something. We don't really know enough about the Aons to speculate too much though, the whole system seems to be quite a bit more open then any other system, but perhaps the Aons fall into 16 categories? entirely speculation but the lack of organisation and limitations to the elantrian magic systems gets to me sometimes, I'm too used to all of the other rigidly scientific systems

I'd say that it is to preserve their strength, keep in mind that it is stored not destroyed and later recreated. You store your strength in a safe place in order to preserve it. Or at least that's how I always saw it

I know I really wanter Reavan to win, could have made for some interesting matches.
-
I've been looking everywhere for this! I thought it must have been Breeze but there you go! So yeah, this would be a very interesting ability in warfare. On animals, even if they aren't as sentient as humans they can still feel emotions, I think it could work but I'm not completely sure.

But if you burn a metalmind and then store it in another metalmind you have exactly as much power as if you had just used it as it burned. Also Wayne wasn't a compounder, he had limited amounts of health so he had to be conservative, Miles by contrast was extremely wasteful with his health, tapping it at extremely high rates constantly. All duralumin would do is give you about 5 seconds worth of the attribute at an unalterably high level, possibly useful in some circumstances but it would be much easier to just have it stored in a metalmind, that way you can draw exactly as much as you want, if the rarity of a metal was an issue then you MIGHT have a point as you would need slightly more, but the only metal that that would really be necessary for is atium and I don't think you want to duralumin burn feruchemical atium.

The Parshmen are Shardblades and Plates
Voidus replied to anthonydraco's topic in Stormlight Archive
And I think someone almost certainly would have noticed if it was made of the same material, there are plenty of shardbearers on the plains. Also we see shardblades killing them with just as much ease as anything else, if their carapace was essentially just thinner shardplate then I think there would be some resistance. -
The butler was a ghostblood as well though wasn't he? so he'd lie about it as well. Edit: I doubt you can tell a soulcaster is real or fake without actually using it, after all Jasnah would have been under some quite intense scrutiny and no one else picked up that hers is a fake.
-
I seriously doubt that he would have then given over the oathstone to the parshendi if he had it originally. He would have just kept the Oathstone and told Szeth to do what the Parshendi told him.

I'm thinking that it COULD be similar to what happened on Scadrial, before lerasium there were only mistings, so I think that pre-elantris the shaod probably had to take some people but very weakly, then they built Elantris which magnified the Shaod and so we have current day elantrians.
-
So basically we've come to the conclusion that soothers/rioters are the best saboteurs ever. Also case in point just think about how effective the soothing stations were in Luthadel, it created a permanent emotional change in the people living there.

That's ok I love random and unnecessary information, hardly a topic comes up that I can't relate to some obscure piece of knowledge which I'm not sure how I possess

How to defend against shard plate, shard blades, wind runners, ect.
Voidus replied to RJWB0mb's topic in Stormlight Archive
Didn't work too well in the prologue -
Exactly! I mean I doubt anyones abilities could match TLR but if you had a team of savants they could probably do a fair job.
-
I doubt that it would work like that, there is some way to compound allomancy but we have no idea what it is, I don't think that it would just be the same thing in reverse, also if you try to hold up a building in just one place it would just break that section and the rest would still fall
-
The rest of the allomantic powers are useful in combat against roughly 20 odd enemies simultaneously, emotional allomancy properly could destroy an entire army while losing 0 soldiers, it is by far the most versatile of the allomantic powers. EDIT: Also think of how useful it could be if applied with Operant conditioning techniques
-
Well, Zinc actually just makes you work things out faster, not better so it would just feel like you have hours to think out a problem instead of seconds, the world would move as though in slow motion. Also why would you need Duralumin? Feruchemy can compound to any level it wants anyway so Duralumin would be kinda useless... Edit: And the next trilogy is set in modern era so planes can still happen XD
-
You could riot feelings of dominance though, which would pretty much have the same effect.
