Yeah I remember that one, but it also counteracts the emotional allomancy weakness also it seems somewhat more humane to the person you just killed if their mind gets to live on If you had a group of twinborns who between them had all the allomantic and feruchemical abilities and they all agreed to join into one twinawesome with mental fortitude spikes they would all get to share the fun. Not for the same ability, but if you non-lethally spiked a mistborn for say Chromium could you then spike them lethally for Nicrosil? Or one of the other attributes? Mental fortitude perhaps.

It might do, depends how thick the plating is A bullet is only shot once so as long as it can stand that initial shot without losing the plating then it's good, but a gun is going to be firing over and over so it's subject to a lot more wear.
