I'm pretty sure that closeness in the cognitive realm still mirrors closeness in the physical realm, it's just that space gets shrunk a lot there since there's no cognitive activity going on between planets.

I think it depends on the perception of the thing you soulcasts view of meat, maybe dirt would think that meat means human meat but air thinks that it's chicken meat. But before reading this thread and thinking about it way too much I always just assumed it was an idealized form of general meat, not animal-specific.

Well if the Nightwatcher is really a spren then her capabilities are at the very least restricted by the popular conception of her, she also seems to mostly mess with cognitive aspects (and possibly the spiritual realm with Lift)

Gold Feruchemy isn't instant either, you could compress the healing to be practically instant but there'd still be a delay, also Stormlight has been used to heal a Shard-severed spine so it's still not more likely to be feruchemy. Personally I don't think that has to do with healing at all and Hoid's just bragging about his general Awesomeness (Not the Lift kind)

The Inheritance cycle is my standout most hated ending to a series, I also got annoyed with Robin Hobb's Farseer and it's ending. A Series of Unfortunate Events, was definitely a let down but I wasn't all that invested in it so I guess it never annoyed me as much as it did some people.

Peter V Bretts Demon cycle is good, obvious ones are Pat Rothfuss, GRRM, Brent Weeks, I also like a few older ones like Raymond Feist and David Eddings, also Tony Shillitoe but he's Australian and books are hard to find

I think the command sunlight thing is supposed to be figurative description of their control over light in general, but yes I can see that it would be possible to do a bit of damage but I still think it would just consume way too much Stormlight and as Aminar says seems counter to the way Lightweavers would think, they seem to be more of a recainassance/spy type order rather than big flashy Stormlight make Voidbringers go bye-bye type. Or at least I think those are the technical names

Stormlight consumption would presumably go up, also not sure that Shallan has enough knowledge of wave behaviour to produce completely in-phase light, could still use it to just dazzle I guess though. Also not sure how the cognitive/spiritual component of Lightweaving would affect this.
