My Model of Realmatics- and speculations on aluminum
Nathrangking replied to Steeldancer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In my view it is all the difference. One by definition is an inorganic hole created by the inserting of something that would not ordinarily be present. The other a tunnel is always present and it merely requires one to arrive there to pass through.- 40 replies

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Nathrangking replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted you become a hideous creature whose very existence is a greater insult than anything that Hoid could ever conceive. Granted. You receive the most hideous bandana in all of creation this drives you hide from the world in shame. I call upon the powers of the nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish to be the most respected person in the history of humankind. -
My Model of Realmatics- and speculations on aluminum

It is interesting that he mentions that it punctures realms in all that he has shown it appears more like a tunnel rather than a rip in the realms.- 40 replies

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Nathrangking replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. Congratulations. You now have knowledge of everything that is was and ever will be, however you are locked away in a door less and window less cell which prevents you from acting on your newfound knowledge. I call upon the powers of the nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish to know the meaning of life. -
He made a big deal about his flute which I'm sure has a lot of mileage on it.

With the tide firmly against me I humbly withdraw denth and yield my match to vin.

Scadrial seems to be somewhat able to survive despite the animus each group has if odium planted roots like on Roshar things could get ugly.

Hoid knew Heralds over 4500 years before WOK
Nathrangking replied to FiveLate's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Oh he knew the shards they are all from Yolen He would have known Tavanast just not necessarily the heralds. -

Nathrangking replied to AnonymousFan's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
As far as I am aware we do not know the identity of empire #3. -

Granted you become a zombie who is not susceptible to any disease. I call upon the powers of the nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish to be the supreme master over all of creation. -
Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

I wish for: 3 medium sized oranges 2 bags of green grapes 4 cups of Yoplait key lime pie flavored yogurt 1 in season watermelon 2 cans of soup 8 oz of carrots 1 gallon of orange juice 3 cans of soda Granted these items appear every day for the rest of your life and you are forced to consume them all by an uncontrollable urge. I call upon the powers of the nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish that I would be the luckiest person in all of existence. -
My Model of Realmatics- and speculations on aluminum
Nathrangking replied to Steeldancer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Firstly this theory does seem to fit with what has been seen and explains a lot. Secondly it may indeed under your premise return to the cognitive realm because its connection to the physical realm will have been severed. On the point of ant aluminum sword against shardplate it might still act as a temporary protection though at the same time it may render you immovable if it gets lodged in a crack.- 40 replies

The way that he seems to thrive on his ability to have as many girl friends as he had and as @Calderis points out he shows a true attraction towards Shallan. Does not point at someone who is asexual.

The coppermind notes that it either shows another person's past or who they could have become had they chosen differently. If it is the first it is a mirror power to that of gold. In terms of connection...

I'm not so sure that he would have been keen on Scadrial even if they lived in the stone ages.

With the speed of events taking place on Roshar we will likely discover a lot about Hoid's plans sooner rather than later.

32 chapters to part one by the unamed god this book is going to be epic provided that Ruin does not change the words.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Nathrangking replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you freak out when you learn that your color war team in camp is called red lightning. -
Nightblood is not your average invested object. Even if it were with all due respect invested objects are not at all the same as people using investiture. Metalminds are quite difficult to push. Invested spikes cannot be pushed at all. Invested objects hold investiture in storage users only hold it for a few moments or at most a couple of hours. That would not be time enough for any real change to occur in the physical makeup. Nightblood holds investiture in spades to the degree that we have never seen in anything in the whole of the cosmere it is unique and possibly in many ways is similar to other invested objects.

66% Truthwatcher 42% Elsecaller 32% lightweaver 6% bondsmith 6% skybreaker Surprising, but at the same time not so shocking.

Why do Returned need investiture to stay alive?
Nathrangking replied to Extesian's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I believe that Nightblood consumes the soul in lieu of breath... when necessary. The soul as has been shown is in fact made up of investiture which as a last resort is used as a power source. -
As an answer to #4 the answer is yes they can. The appearance of a returned can be turned on and off which Vasher as a returned himself proved is possible. Even Siri and Vivenna who only have some returned blood can learn to do it. Thus it can be inferred that all returned full blooded and not can alter their appearances.

It is possible to say that making Vin into a powerful force to be reckoned with was the plan. He might have predicted that she would be needed to defeat the corruption that Ati had become. Which might even conceivably have been part of the larger plan of giving someone the potential opportunity to take up two shards and thwart Odium on Scadrial.

I'm not afraid to admit that I first joined in order to get Aether of night. However, since I have joined I have had the privilege of discussing these books which are my all time favorites with like minded people whose knowledge gives me much to learn from and aspire to. Thank you all for giving me the chance to debate and discuss these wonderful works!!
