An idea regarding Adonalsium and the Vessels
Nathrangking replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It is certainly interesting considering the way that they in fact in many cases broke the pact. Did they perhaps regret the decision? -

If shalebark grows in a forest and no one sees it, how much does tallew cost in Azir? If A squared plus B squared equals C squared then what do you get when you add the sixth of dusk squared plus 10 heralds squared? How likely is it for Dalinar to strike the same place twice? Who is afraid of the big bad wolf?

The Ten Orders: How They do Everyday Things
Nathrangking replied to little wheel's topic in Stormlight Archive
How the 10 orders celebrate parole: Windrunner: Ensures that all weapons are taken before the party starts to keep their friends safe. Skybreaker: Throws a party that abides by every rule of their parole including some that their P.O. have not heard of. Edgedancer: Invites many of the ex cons that society has forgotten. Elsecaller: Celebrates by teaching some wrongfully accused friends how to draft an appeal. Truthwatcher: Goes to the track with friends and picks all of the winning horses. Willshaper: Misses the party because they got sidetracked by a crime in progress. Stoneward: Invites some family for the same type of party they had thrown before going to jail. Dustbringer: Gets rearrested for the same crime. Lightweaver: Throws a costume party. Bondsmith: reconciles the two fighting factions that developed when they got put away. -
The sounds of waves slapping against a wooden hull wake Ethri son Miserano. He opens his eyes and gazes into the dim light that surrounds him. He can barely make out writhing forms which groan in pain. He struggles when he feels a hand brush against his ankle. His arms are tied tightly behind him though his legs are unbound. Ethri son Miserano suddenly stills when he hears the word that is being whimpered around him Tukar.

Very true! Mythologically speaking many ancient gods were very human and fallible. They were more super - powered humans than omniscient being there is an element of relatability to gods who think and act human. Certainly their powers coupled with fallibility give us much to discuss.
-
Well that is something that Brandon toys with a lot. This idea of fallibility makes for flawed and in many senses more interesting characters. What happens when flawed being are given that much power?

Inexplicably Unsettling Comments Thread
Nathrangking replied to Invocation's topic in General Discussion
When people say Que sera, sera I get annoyed because no one ever uses it in the right context!!! -
Ethri son Miserano grimaced as a cold wind struck him like a hammer blow. These months since he had left his homeland had been difficult. He had had to travel at night to avoid detection by any number of forces that might desire the sacred weapon that he had sworn to protect. The mad state of the world haunts Ethri's dreams. It all began with Szeth and the day that he was cast out as Truthless. That is when this nightmare had begun. His reverie is broken by the recognition that the dawn is approaching. He gazes around the Almian countryside seeing little that can hide him. Perhaps he can reach Yezier by tomorrow. Then everything may just change.

Name: Ethri son Miserano Age: 25 Rosharan Years. Nationality: Shin (Stone Shaman) Appearance: A little taller than average and broader in body than most Shin. Amber eyed with shoulder length black hair. Skills: He is a skilled fighter in hand to hand combat as well as in the use of honorblades. In secret he trained with the use of spears and staves. He can also read and write. Abilities/ Powers: He bears Ishar's honorblade/ surgebinding. Backstory: Ethri was a mighty warrior and one of the high ranking members of the stone shaman. In his early teens he was entrusted with the care of Ishar's honorblade. He would relinquish it only in rare situations. The protection of Shinovar was given to him at the same time as the blade. He spent years learning tactics as well as the use of the honorblades. He spent the majority of his life living in the valley of truth alongside Szeth son son Vallano. When Szeth was expelled it was he who led the charge to have him named Truthless. The coming of the Everstorm made him wary of the world and he sealed the borders of Shinovar. For the most part he ignored the Blackthorn's exhortation and ramped up the training of the Shin's defensive forces. The battle of Thaylen City impressed onto him the need to join with the Blackthorn's coalition. He embarked on a journey to Thaylen city to join the forces of Alethkhar.

Questioner [PENDING REVIEW] With aluminum and Mistborn, I know that it makes the metals and stuff all go away, but if someone has toxic metal, would that also make it go away? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] It has to be Allomantically relevant. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) Questioner [PENDING REVIEW] Is [Hoid] ever actually what he's actually like in any of the books? I thought Way of Kings would be it, but I'm not sure. Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] Wit is very similar to the real Hoid. He's worked a long time to build a place for himself where he can kinda be himself. I mean, when you see his book from his viewpoint, he'll feel very like Wit from Stormlight. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) Questioner [PENDING REVIEW] With aluminum resisting Shardblades, could you plate Shardplate with aluminum and have extra resistance, or would that be too thin to really even do anything? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] This would probably not be very effective. Maybe in modern times, you could, but honestly you'd be better off just building aluminum armor for someone else. It's not gonna add too much to the Shardplate and to what the Shardplate's already doing and it might just interfere too much with what you're trying to do anyway. It would be worth experimenting with, but I don't think it's gonna end up doing too much. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) Wyndlerunner [PENDING REVIEW] You've mentioned in the past aluminum savants being able to somewhat heal their spiritweb, healing them of the cracks, sort of healing them of Allomancy. Could a chromium savant do this to other people, kind of like in the Avatar [The Last Airbender] finale where he seals bending? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] I will say RAFO, but I will say you're theorizing along correct directions. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) Questioner [PENDING REVIEW] You've said before Hoid has had many love interests throughout his life. Does he have a bunch of distant descendants running around the cosmere? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] RAFO. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019)

@Calderis Khyrindor [PENDING REVIEW] So, I was hoping to get a confirmation on Mraize's age? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] I'd probably... Well, what did I say before? Khyrindor [PENDING REVIEW] Not sure, I was just asking the question. Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] Okay good, I didn't think that I had confirmed this. I'm going to RAFO it. Khyrindor [PENDING REVIEW] Like, is he older than a normal person? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] I'd RAFO it, yeah. Let's say though, that, though he has been off-world, he himself is a Rosharan. Khyrindor [PENDING REVIEW] A Roshar native? Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW] Yeah. Oh! thou clear spirit of clear fire, whom on these seas I as Persian once did worship, till in the sacramental act so burned by thee, that to this hour I bear the scar; I now know thee, thou clear spirit, and I now know that thy right worship is defiance. To neither love nor reverence wilt thou be kind; and e’en for hate thou canst but kill; and all are killed. No fearless fool now fronts thee. I own thy speechless, placeless power; but to the last gasp of my earthquake life will dispute its unconditional, unintegral mastery in me. In the midst of the personified impersonal, a personality stands here. Though but a point at best; whencesoe’er I came; wheresoe’er I go; yet while I earthly live, the queenly personality lives in me, and feels her royal rights. But war is pain, and hate is woe. Come in thy lowest form of love, and I will kneel and kiss thee; but at thy highest, come as mere supernal power; and though thou launchest navies of full-freighted worlds, there’s that in here that still remains indifferent. Oh, thou clear spirit, of thy fire thou madest me, and like a true child of fire, I breathe it back to thee. - Collected Jeseses 1171, 55 seconds pre - death. Subject was a lighteyed captain in the personal routine of high prince Torol Sadeas (Moby Dick)

Nightblood, Vasher, and Vivenna
Nathrangking replied to Brightness Jencee's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Unfortunately we know why Vasher killed his wife Shashara. She was going to make more nightbloods which he could not allow. The carnage that it is capable of sickened him and he wanted to stop her. Brandon Sanderson Lightsong Sees the Painting of the Red Battle This is our first major clue (though a subtle one at the same time) that there might be something to the religion of the Iridescent Tones. Lightsong does see something in this painting that an ordinary person wouldn't be able to. A well-crafted piece of art, made by a person channeling the Tones and connected to them via Breath, can speak to a Returned. Now, in this case, it doesn't work quite like Llarimar says it does—Lightsong doesn't actually prophesy about the black sword in the way the priest thinks. In other words, Lightsong isn't prophesying that he'll see the Black Sword (Nightblood) in the day's activities. Instead, Lightsong is seeing an image of a previous war, which is prophetic in that another Manywar is brewing—and in both cases, Nightblood will be important to the outcome of the battle. The person Lightsong sees in the abstract painting is Shashara, Denth's sister, one of the Five Scholars and a Returned also known as Glorysinger by the Cult of the Returned. She is seen here in Lightsong's vision as she's drawing Nightblood at the battle of Twilight Falls. It's the only time the sword was drawn in battle, and Vasher was horrified by the result. It's because of her insistence on using the sword in battle, and on giving away the secret to creating more, that Vasher and she fought. He ended up killing her with Nightblood, which they'd created together during the days they were in love—he married her a short time before their falling out. That marriage ended with him slaying his own wife to keep her from creating more abominations like Nightblood and loosing them upon the world. Nightblood is part of a much larger story in this world. He's dropped casually into this particular book, more as a side note than a real focus of what's going on, but his own role in the world is much, much larger than his supporting part here would indicate. Perhaps there should be primer equations that serve as the base for some powers and building on them are ever more complex equations which equal greater power. These could perhaps have a writing requirement to give say a mistake a cost.
