You've got a hypothetical big slow floaty platform that's going to spend the next couple weeks floating slowly and bigly over hostile territory. You've also got a glossy Ordering Radiants: the Complete KR Catalogue that just came in the mail. Just going by their skillsets, which orders do you prioritize for your defense team? My first pick would be Skybreakers. Flight and heavy-duty destructive powers. They just have to hover around the Fifth Bridge and bam! fused gets Division straight in the carapace! And in an emergency, they can help with evacuation. Second is Lightweavers. In hopefully they can just camaflouge the Fifth Bridge to head off any trouble. If we do get spotted, they can at least make things as confusing as Damnation for the baddies. Soulcasting might also be helpful, if they know how to do it at a distance like Jasnah.

I made an assumption and, as per the OP, happened to be right. Or, there was a long rambling preface about how the world isn't worthy of learning her secrets, not yet, so she hasn't told any of the fools around her about her glorious method, but someday, in the far far future, mankind will be ready to learn the Arts of Impalement, and so she bids the far far future reader to release her writings to all. Etc etc. And I took her at her word and, as per the OP, happened to be right.

Since the OP specified that I'm the only one who knows, the author is dead. I'm picturing some crumbly old tome discovered in a basement or something.

If I'm a serial killer, I presume I have no moral qualms about killing the innocent. I'm going to go out and hemalurge myself as powerful as I can without appearing monstrous. I'd keep it to myself, unless I had a very good murder-bestie. If the Voice of Ruin beams Hemalurgy 101 into my head, I'm going to assume that he can talk to other people, too. And when I neither go on a spiking spree nor publish a bindpoint chart in a journal, he's going to keep contacting people until he finds someone with a sufficient lack of morals/common sense. So since Hemalurgy is going to get out anyway, I'm going to spend my time trying to form a trustworthy superhero team to try and stop it. If it's in a book, and for whatever reason I am convinced that it's real, I burn the book.

If I'm the only one who knows, how did I find out? Did Ruin whisper it into my head? Am I already a serial killer who just happened to impale today's hobo in the right place? Did I... logic it out... somehow? I feel like this is an important factor.
