  1. I think Ishar has to have told the others that his crazy god-king persona is part of a Plan of some sort, that it's all a means to an end. That he isn't really pants-on-head crazy.
  2. I disagree. Maedhros is certainly more diplomatic than his brothers, and he did gather his eponymous Union- but then he led two more Kinslayings. He did not fall and then rise a better man; he fell and fell and continued falling, until he literally jumped to his death.
  3. Let's make teams of Radiants from other franchises! Silmarillion: Discworld: Order of the Stick
  4. Rashek was a Sliver, he probably has a few more tricks than your average Allomancer. As for Inquisitors... hmm. I'll go with 'freakish Hemalurgic constructs are freakish'.
  5. Brandon has said a) that Kaladin's icon is a pivitol scene we haven't seen yet and b ) book four is going to have a Very Important scene that he's really excited to finally be able to show us. I personally suspect that the book four scene is going to finally be the banner scene.
  6. I vaguely remember that guy. But I think he sort of came as a package deal with his whole bridge crew? Not sure what he did after that. (For real, though, I can't remember any specific duties of Lopen's being mentioned before he grew his arm).
  7. If male occupations are defined by "need two hands" , then Vorin amputees seem to be SoL.
  8. RAFOspren. Or in Glys's specific case, WTFspren.
  9. Now I need this too.
  10. Come one, come all, and add your favorite stories! (And if you're capable of writing a decent fic synopsis, please add them, because Harmony knows I'm helpless).
  11. I finally have some capital-Q Questions, and I'd like to participate next time he's answering them.
  12. In that vein (SoS bigtime spoilers)
  13. Handerwym's snarky running commentary on Jak's adventures... well, you could say he was MiSTing them.
  14. I recently bought The Final Empire (I've owned the other two for ages), and had myself a long-overdue Era 1 reread; I've been on a bit of a Scadrial kick ever since. Next up for a reread was Wax and Wayne. I don't personally own any of them; I think I've read The Alloy of the Law twice and the other two only once. Well my copy of The Alloy of the Law has arrived from the library, and I've made a horrible discovery. Everything I've loved is a lie. There is no second "the" in the title. Huge letters, filling the width of the cover. The Alloy Of Law. Four words. No matter how many time I check, it remains the same. The. Alloy. Of. Law. Now, either I've been remembering the name wrong all these years, despite seeing it written down again and again, or there's a malevolent cosmic entity of destruction editing Brandon's work, as part of an evil scheme against either Sanderson or prepositions, or both. Occam's Razor, of course, suggests the latter. Well, I'm on to Him. Can't fool me, you deific chill. PS. The "Berenstain" Bears? That's Ruin's fault, too.
  15. You mean... you mean leave the house? And socialize? With, like, actual people?
  16. I tend to miss hints and clues and subtext, so I need my fellow Brandon obsessives to point them out to me.
  17. Rereading The Well of Ascension, TenSoon's occasional slips really stood out to me- as well as the others' rationalizations for him.
  18. Weird update: still nothing for my gmail account... but it worked for my Yahoo address right away. I tried to change my preference to the Gmail addy, and it told me that email was already in use. So my gmail sign-up are active, but not actually sending me anything?
  19. I just did a reread of all the Era 1 material (including pertinent fanfic), but I don't have any of the E2 books on hand. Glad to know they know, just because the idea amuses me. (I probably should borrow Era 2 again; I have an essay I want to write about SoS and the concept of fridged women).
  20. Do you think the book that Harmony left behind at the end of HoA mentions Kelsier's stint as Preservation? Because that would make doctrinal arguments between Pathists and Survivorists pretty funny. "Yes, we actually also believe he was a god... of a sort.. briefly."
