  1. "Ok you two. Stop being so little. I get enough of it from those trainees of mine." Toph picked her nose, flicking away the trove. "So tell us Zuko. Who's this inventor that decided to create another flying monstrosity."
  2. What was your inspiration for this thread title?
  3. A hungry Edgedancer's vine Could really do nothing but whine He had once gardened chairs Awesomeness he now bears A cobbler had been his first time to shine
  4. I'm kind of thinking of Durza's in the Inheritance Cycle mainly because he could only be killed by being stabbed through the heart. Wasn't exactly epic in writing but more in the context.
  5. This is so beautiful, I'm gonna cry. Thank you!
  6. These are awesome! Young Adolin fought for his father And carried the chain of his mother But the day he forgot it Was when he couldn't just sub-mit His error almost lost his brother (Eh, not so awesome, but it'll do.)
  7. Do you like beans? (Any kind in any form).
  8. @Ammanas Huh, that's pretty good. So the Scadrial's "glorified state" would be where Harmony put it back?
  9. Holy smokes! When is this coming out?
  10. So true! Reading this thread got me thinking of another parallel that I saw when reading Mistborn. Sazed's whole confliction of religions is kind of akin to what any person today might feel about all the religions. There are some people out there who think that we as Mormons think all other religions are wrong and ours is the only right one. Which is really sad because it makes getting to know people so hard. We believe that every religion has parts of the truth. We believe in Christ just like other Christian religions, despite what others might say, and we also have some similarities with non Christians religions, though I'm really sorry as I can't think of any off the top of my head. This is similar to how Sazed found peace in the end as Harmony and that each of the religions, though they might've contradicted each other in themselves, still had bits of truth that could contribute to the whole. (Meh, hope I didn't sound preachy or anything.)
  11. Hm, for the Parshendi? All I can really think of is Enya and the Pure Moods 2 soundtrack, like Montezuma, but I feel like those won't cover the more aggressive nature.
  12. Wow, these are some pretty cool thoughts. I'm LDS, and I agree on what @Ammanas said, but I really like the parallels that you drew from this series. It's amazing to think where such small details might've come from in Sanderson's life, like deciding to base power source and such on metals. We do believe that Christ went to the Americas, (hence certain chapters in the Book of Mormon) yet He also said somewhere that he was leaving to visit other sheep, who are not of this fold, or something similar to that; people besides those in the Bible and the Book or Mormon. Makes me wonder if Kelsier has gone to other places in the world besides the two general locations to teach the metallic arts, or how to survive.
  13. Eh, probably an everstorm. Marriage to a koloss both hurts my brain to think about and would make my self esteem go way down. Also, think about my offspring. Some kid insults them by saying that their great-great-great...grandparents were probably koloss, and all I can say to them from up above, is "yep, sorry!" (Yeah, had to answer this. Was typing it when @Hemalurgic_Headshot piped in an answer.) Probably a chasmfiend. It may be slow but there's always a chance that I could escape from the inside. Shades are just too ethereal for me. Like being knifed by someone invisible. Threondy is just a bit too "shady" for my liking. (Okay, sorry, that was a bad pun.) Would you rather jump off of a greatshell (like Rysn) knowing where you will land, or be a new Mistborn and jump for the first time off Luthadel walls without knowing where you will land (Vin)?
  14. Probably a trails against Kaladin. There's something about being gradually flattened by an invisible force that really doesn't sound appealing. Would you rather be a Siah Amian (be able to put notes on your person, heal yourself, temporarily sculpt your body, etc) or a Dysian Amian (made up of hordelings that can act individually and have their own memory storage, etc.) ?
  15. Neither of these are "real/published" songs. Or at least I don't think so, but they are so good, and were specifically written for Wax and Wayne, and Vin. Also, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and Princess Mononoke soundtracks are pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8KGK4pTCGA
  16. "Not our fault that you decided to come up 1000 feet in the air," Toph grumbled to herself. "So tell us Zuko: why in the world, and when in the world did this fandangled idea come into your head? Have you been drinking any cactus juice recently?" (Even greater when you say this is your favorite show and some people will hug you and others will give you looks of wariness.)
  17. I think I'd rather be a surgeon. Despite the bad rep, I would feel like I was at least doing something and knowing that my profession was helping someone, as opposed to being a noble in Kae and knowing that you or the government can fall at anytime. Plus, I've never been a real political person. Would you rather be convinced to join one of Sazed's many religions and convinced or Jasnah's more philosophical/heretical beliefs?
  18. Do you like the newer version of Sailor Moon or the older one?
  19. Heh, I wish. My name is Sailor, because my mom wanted a named that started with "s". Which is weird because Sailor isn't even their name, but just a title that goes with the name. Go figure.
  20. I love that show! I was named after it! Though I'd have to say I really like Sailor Jupiter because she is one tough cookie but is also a great homemaker. Inheritance Cycle: Angela-because she has the greatest comebacks and entrances and such a mysterious personality. She ticks off werecats, is respected by the elves, shares stories with Urgals, and knits. Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles: I don't know, but I really liked the Sakura and Syaoran pairing here. Their relationship may seem pretty generic to each other, but I've always liked stories about loyalty. Mulan: enough said Muirwood: Lia-because her moral strength/integrity is amazing. And the way she carries herself and acts around other people is so intriguing, as well as the development of her story.
