  1. My Young Womens teacher once taught the class that we forgive/apologize to others because we care about the relationship between us. That's got me through so many arguments.
  2. Yep, same for me. I thought the first book was interesting, introducing the whole dystopian theme, but the whole thing got progressively worse very quickly. I barely finished Insurgent and never even started Allegient. Same thing with the Mortal Instruments. I only got about 2.5 books through. I was just tired of the constant drama and not enough action. There wasn't enough feeling that made you feel for the characters and not that great of a story line. Just one that stretched on and on and on. I didn't think Hunger Games was all that great either, and kind of got worse as the series progressed too, but it at least had more better parts than the first two I mentioned.
  3. I feel. That pronunciation made me think they were talking about my family or something (that's our last name). And I just love how earthbenders do a bunch of supposedly-synchronized-but-not-really-synchronized punching moves and they get ta-da! An awesome wall of dirt! (Hope you can sense the sarcasm.) I thought Ella Enchanted was extremely disappointing as well. Followed about 8% of the actual story. I wish I could give it ten, but...I just can't. Yep, Eragon and Percy Jackson are all on that list. I mean seriously? Introducing Kronos in the second movie? That's a big no-no.
  4. Yes! The movie is NOTHING like the books. It's almost as bad as the Ella Enchanted film adaptation. Thalia is a character in the series and she is storming awesome. No argument.
  5. Your name is awesome! Have you read Percy Jackson? Have fun reading!
  6. "Well you'd better start doing something quick, 'cause I'm not a big fan of being an Earthbender pancake flying bison style!" Toph let out a yell, and with a quick punch to her left, one of her many steel bracelets flew off her arm. The resulting sound was a bellow larger than hers had been.
  7. Heh, that reminds me...this isn't really a stupid moment, but I work at the glass museum, and I was told that one of the glassblowers had so many calluses/painless nerves in his hands that he could just grab a cookie sheet straight out of the oven. No mitts.
  8. These are all such good quotes! I need to write more stories now. But now I need to wait a day to give everyone upvotes. Oh well. Another one of my favorites was someone quoting a bumper sticker: Don't judge me because I sin differently than you. (Dieter F. Uchtdorf anyone?)
  9. I don't know if there is anywhere else, but I thought it would interesting to have a place where others can share tidbits of wisdom that they've heard from someone or somewhere or read. The next Uncle Iroh is out there and I love hearing advice like that. It also will help with story ideas too. (At least for me.) One of my club administrators told us that her life motto was to be the person she needed when she was younger which is rusting awesome, because you're always thinking in the present of someone you need, so be that kind of person.
  10. Sounds like something my sister would do. She had a fire drill at college and was excited to go back in afterwards. So excited that she ran into the glass window next to the door. Usually people hit their nose first or their forehead, but nope, she hit is teeth first and broke her two fronts ones in half. You can tell that we really love her based on how we laughed after giving her some advice on what to do.
  11. Same! I started looking on here not too long ago and was very confused. I had known there was the whole cosmere idea, but didn't realize how interconnected and theoretical it was until I actually started reading up on some stuff. Still am not 100% clear on some stuff, but that's okay.
  12. *claps* Well played. Truth: Yep, I can't grammar on forums. Horrible typing skills. Truth: I had to unfortunately turn to my carnal sense and try to instantly hide my mistake. Truth: I can't do charades. Truth: You all need to stop using Rosharan references and expand to the rest of the cosmere.
  13. I hate to bring up old lines from previous comments, but you seem to enjoy mentioning those shelled animals of Roshar. Are you quite certain that you don't already spend enough time with them that you must refer to others as them? At least compare me to a mistwraith to address my single-mindedness, or a chicken to show my obvious opposition to order, or even a Seon to represent how I'm only worth giving unbending service to someone else!
  14. Glad you noticed. It's quite infuriating when someone does that huh? *cough*
  15. Um, not sure if this is something the eldest creature of the cosmere does, but do they learn proper spelling and grammar out there? As for pulling stones...why thank you! I love to pull stones! I love walking to a war camp with a hundred pounds behind my feet! And your right! It doesn't need creativity! It just needs a little mantra: I don't have to deal with the elderly.
  16. Hm, yes the Ryshadium is an honorable and prestigious creature isn't it? Why shouldn't I feel that it is deserving in that wonderful clinking of spheres? The equine force of one carrying a Shardbearer is just that much above whatever smoldering mix-up you write under.
  17. (Treating as if what you said had been spoken.) Cents? Why, having no money is one thing, while being deprived of the sense such as taste, touch, smell, and Almighty above, taste, is something completely different. I defy you to insult a poor creature that can't even tell the difference between a lavish feast of savory chicken and Soulcast lavis grain.
  18. Have you been standing behind me this whole time? (By the way, that was a great comeback you did.)
  19. It seems that out of the participants to this thread, your minds have all jumped the Honor Chasm and refuse to acknowledge that you have exited the Physical Realm. I need to find some bridgeleaders with more spaz than this.
  20. For same system meetups: Lift and Lopen For different systems: Wayne and Wit (I would bring a lawn chair and popcorn for their meetup), Shai and Shallan (they both kind of work with changing images/beings of things)
  21. Why in the world can't people realize they're being hypocritical and prejudice and that what they really need to do is serve others?
  22. Ooh, I like that idea. What would he be though? He could be a Bondsmith because you know, the whole Survivor thing and bringing people together. I wouldn't mind seeing him as and Edgedancer, because to have powers like Lift...Though I'm not sure if he would go along with ideal, to remember those who no one else remembers. He kind of emulates that. It would be cool to see him as a Windrunner like Kaladin, but I'm not sure if he fits those Ideals either. His frequent arguments with Marsh about noblemen and skaa were often questionable.
  23. Was working at the museum today and wondered "What would I do if a kid came up and licked one of the objects?" Yell at them? Laugh myself silly? Hmm...
  24. Urgh, not a huge fan of how true that is...But it's still so true! Nice one.
