No one can make you inferior without your consent. - Joy D. Jones: Sept 2017 General Women's Conference

I've always rhymed it with "bye" On that note, how to pronounce Susebron? Is the accent on the "u" or the "e"? I put it on the "u" then I reread Siri calling him Seb, so maybe the accent is on the "e"? It kind of sounds better that way.

Classic female fantasy authors (IMO): Tamora Pierce (lots of amazing strong female protagonists, like lady knights, and a girl who has a "way" with creatures, etc.) and Ursula LeGuin.

The book for Howl's Moving Castle is amazing. Sophie has such an attitude, even better than in the movie.

I can relate to nose problems. I was dissecting a frog during Biology in 8th grade, and it had that really strong formaldehyde smell. I had a stuffy nose that day, and leaned in to get a closer look a the frog's innards, and then had to sniff really hard and got a full blast of the stuff that I could almost taste it. I did not have clear sinuses after that.

*slow clap* Nice. As for Nausicaa, I'm going to have to say that the manga is better, the story goes a lot deeper than the movie, about 3 more books to be precise and gets into more of the culture of other people besides the people of the Valley, and even more about the Giant Warrior, who actually doesn't die after the first book/movie, but lives on (kind of) and gets a name. There's also a pretty deep philosophical/controversial thing in there too, but I'll let you figure that out.

Wow. Just...wow. I really like this Theory. To be blunt, some of the time assignments I don't fully agree with, but really, I can ignore that. The way that they have a physical and spiritual world like other systems, but then they have the dream world, which could be like the Cosmere's Cognitive realm? Yeah not a wiz at that. Anyway I agree with @Belzedar about starting with Mononoke and ending with Nausicaa, as each is so far from the center of the timeline, which is funny because those are two of my personal favorites. I find the connection between Mononoke and Totoro to be awesome. That at some point, spirits have realized that humans aren't as disgusting as some have always believed in. Like the Forest Spirit was reborn in a different form of all kinds of cuddlieness. The nature aspect from both seem to center around a mother kind of tree. At Howl's Moving Castle with Laputa...that's a new one, which is actually pretty plausible, considering that the end of Howl shows them on the new flying castle. @Captains Domon How did you come up with this theory? Also, have you read the graphic novels to Nausicaa?

And 2017 is over. No one made to Mt. Midoriyama. Three competitors made it Stage 3 though: the Papal Ninja, the Phoenix, and the weatherman. Which is heartbreaking because none of the expected people made it, like Drew Drechsel, or Daniel Gill, or Ian Dory. Even the Cowboy Ninja or Tyler Yamauchi. It was a great season though. Watching them introduce Stage 3 was a little ridiculous though. The Peg Clouds, and then the Time Bombs, right after the Keylock Hang and the Nail Clipper. All serious upper body. It's amazing how some of them land so solidly on the dismount; serious ab strength, and then you have the Phoenix barely latching onto the mat and a foot from the water.

I wouldn't mind tasting the water on Roshar. Does the crem give it flavor even though its taken out?

My soul is being ripped apart tonight. First of all, TYLER YAMAUCHI! This guy is literally the shortest guy to get past Stage 1. After seeing him muss up in the state qualifiers, it was great to see him hit that buzzer. But then...JESSIE GRAFF!! That really killed. She just fumbled on the cargo net! And is not going to Stage 2! I don't know if I can watch Kacy's run later on.

Re-reading Warbreaker and realized that I want to try a Pahn Kahl tinkfan.

That's so awesome! The original version is always cooler/better but I just enjoy watching everyone try these physical feats, and through the season trying again and again. I always wondered what it would be like to try the course myself.

I don't know. I always thought the baywraps sounded kind of good, even though they were more skaa food.

Hm, was looking at another thread about keteks, and realized that could be another LDS influenced idea. In the Book of Mormon, there is a writing pattern used called a chiasmus, which is basically a ketek but applied to a paragraph or longer, with the most important idea being in the middle.

Always thought that keteks might border on being warnings or something.

Las Vegas finals have started! And they were amazing! Alyssa Beird was, what, the 2nd woman to complete stage one? It's amazing to see these people literally sprint through the course, as speed is now a bigger part of it, and seeing records getting broken so often. Argh, but Flex Labreck, just missed the cargo net. That hurt to watch. I don't think I've ever seen the Double Dipper before, but that's a pretty crazy/nifty obstacle. Uh, and Lorin Ball tripped up on that one. It always seems to happen: big expectations and then an early disqualification. And then watching the Cowboy Ninja's run was kind of sad because they finally let out on his wife's condition. They are both troopers.

Why is Palpitoad your favorite? (Honest question)

I'm kind of tired of all the new regions. I don't personally play the game because of lack of means, but I'm a big Pokemon enthusiast otherwise. The regions are just so many, the Pokemon are just so many and so different, and the story line can only be so different. I was perfectly fine with stopping at Sinnoh.

Vin, so she can remember Mare and Kelsier. Who would be that person constantly taking selfies: Dusk or Silence?

"I didn't say anything," Toph sniffed. Being an Earthbender wasn't all about rumbling around and chucking rocks at people. Some lazy landlubbers just couldn't comprehend the finer points to the art. "We might as well go, Aang. Haven't seen Bumi in ages."- 58 replies

Rewatched the Denver City finals, and am still blown by Ian Dory's run. There's no question as to why his was the Run of the Night. He literally could've fallen out multiple times. His dismount off of the Wedge was RIDICULOUS!!! I could swear that I saw him falling from the mat, with one leg already falling from the edge, but somehow he managed to grip and stay on. And then on the Elevator Climb. My heart dropped so hard when I saw him start to fumble for a hand grip at the top. I usually wonder what some of the competitors think when they swing their legs up so soon in the climb, and am always thinking What if there legs don't have a good enough grip and they fall so close to the end? Ian Dory almost answered that question, but somehow managed to clamber up using probably every muscle in his body. What a run. Guess he really has to keep that reputation of completing every city final course.
