I stand corrected. Thanks for the catch. Somehow I wrangled this requirement out of other posts, but I can't find any WoB on it, either, other than ones indicating the opposite is true. Here's something interesting I found, though: AoL series Spoiler? Who knows?:

Ah, that makes sense. You're right, Dunkum. Vin asks him where he found a metal anchor to push on after she shot all of the coins away and fell to the ground. That's when he pulled one out of his mouth and showed her. I guess braces pierce teeth, but a retainer might not resist a pull or push if you open your mouth wide. Not sure.
-
Do you mean using braces or a retainer as hemalurgic spikes? From what I have learned, Hemalurgy requires a few things: 1. The spike-driver intends it to create a hemalurgic spike. 2. A specific point in the victim's body is targeted for a specific trait to be stolen. This tears away a part of the victim's soul, including any traits or powers tied to that area. 3. Applying a spike requires a specific targeted area to gain access to specific traits from the attached bit of soul. The spike must be in contact with flowing blood in order to grant the trait. Specific areas of the body are tied to areas in the soul, which areas comprise what is known as the spritweb. Teeth would be hard. If you hit the vein inside, it could possibly do something, as there is flowing blood. Whether a valid part of the spirit web is located in those veins remains to be seen. Removing any spike removes the trait with it and it begins to lose potency until it is put back into a body. This means the granted trait is weakened, including the power, if any, tied to it. My opinion of why inquisitors are created in one scenario and koloss in another are all about the places in the spiritweb that are targeted, the number of spikes involved(four for koloss, eleven for inquisitors), and the traits stored in the spikes. Extra spikes don't seem to mess things up and change them into new things, but I believe as long as you have the basic pattern of specific traits in the right places, you get the hemalurgic construct affiliated with it.

Carson listened to the conversation from where he sat, now alone, with almost no money. He picked at the piece of chromium embedded in the table as he tried to not look like he was listening. When he heard one of the men mention "Jon", Carson froze and his eyes widened. Once the men began to laugh some more, Carson pried the shiny bit of metal free and held it in a tight fist. He stood up and left his table, his motions a little jerky, even though he was trying to not look nervous. Carson left a few coins on the counter to pay for his drinks and exited through the front door. He turned and walked at a normal pace, stuffing his hands into his pockets, until he came to the side of the next building down the street. Once he passed it, he veered into the narrow alley and quickened his pace. He glanced backwards and saw no one was following him. Carson began to store luck. -

Nice! I began to wonder after I posted this if a seon could be tied to the sword somehow. Thanks for pointing this link out!

I imagine that with the right Aonic inscriptions, Sel's equivalent of a shardblade is extremely possible.
-
Aye. That does it indeed. Nice finds, Voidus.

Good point. One of my heroes is Hrathen, but I wouldn't want to meet him. How about both? If they are the same person, great!
-
Hoid is valid. Its not like I could stop him anyway. He always pops up when you least expect it.
-
Still... no Hoid... Hoid is like Santa Claus. If you still believe, he will pop up. But sometimes he just doesn't... And then, you cry.
-
Who is your hero in the Cosmere(published)? Which character from the Cosmere(published) would you like to meet most? (evenifyoucouldn'tmanipulatesuchameetingtostealorgainpowersoritemscausethat'scheating ) I would want to meet Lightsong. He is hilarious and I think we would get along. I'd help him plan out some pranks to pull on his priest and learn from his sarcastic sense of humor.

When I still can't find Hoid in Steelheart...

I see this as two separate answers. One says the soul needs to be repaired. The other is that a severed arm can be reattached. I'm not saying it wouldn't heal the soul, just that he didn't actually say that the reattached arm would work without further spiritual healing. I don't know if Brandon was evading the question behind the questions, but we might need to get a more direct question, like "Can a bloodmaker heal the arm spiritually?"
-
Aha. I need to pay more attention to stuff like that about the glass. Hmm. About that quote, I understand it differently. I'll post my take on it in a bit.
-
Glass? When? Do you mean the stained glass windows? There is lead framing between the different pieces on those. I guess silicone is a metalloid, but I'm not sure if allomancy can affect metalloid elements. Any feruchemy has a limit on how much can be stored at once per trait. Brandon has also mentioned that physical speed can only boost you so fast. Compounding converts feruchemy stores into new allomantic metals, so duralumin could definitely boost it. I wonder if going full blast with duralumin and flaring wouldn't have bad side effects. If feruchemy has limits, it can't be healthy. Edit: I reply too slow on my phone. People sneaking in more comments before I submit it. Compounded gold might heal the body, but I haven't seen confirmation yet that gold heals spirit. My opinion is that pushing limits on magic would damage more than your body.

@Unodus Aha, that's a cool effect of Shadesmar. That would definitely make things easier. -
I wonder what the swivel chair's geddup noise sounds like.

Oooohoohoohoo! *shivers* I like the dark, yet breath-taking scene you have created. Nicely done, Unodus. Its reminds me of playing Jak and Daxter, all colorful and mischeivous, and then playing the sequel video game: Jak II, a darker shadow with sad hints of good memories lost forever. Now I just need a dark eco peacemaker and some metalheads to waste. I have one concern. The time-dilation and super nova would put a damper on inter-world travel, at least by ships, right? Would this mean nobody can leave the planet now? I suppose none of us are probably planning to leave. As far as arriving, one of my characters arrive by merchant space ship from Scadrial. Maybe there's a way to jump through a narrow section of space without danger. I still love this idea, though. As far as the plot goes, my characters are waiting to hear the big plan from Charden. -

I think Brandon mentioned that there were german-like pronunciations, as well.

Words of Radiance, chapter 87, The Riddens: That's strange though, now that I think of it. The way cymatics works, mass gathers around specific areas, which happen to form symmetry. I guess if the earth was compact enough, it would simply split.
