  1. I always just assumed the non-Szeth interlude stories to be a story-independent route for Brandon to explain a few things about the magic and world.
  2. The sad thing is... I don't even remember who DeMoux is... I guess I should reread Mistborn now :/ And I know it is a few pages back, but about the Elantris thing and people being turned into zombielantrians if they were too far away. Another post discussed the point that with Elantris acting more as an amplifier and not a requirement, and also the point about Dilaf's wife turning similar to a zombielantrian when an Aon went wrong, when the Reod hit, Elantris as an Aon Rao became wrong. My belief is that after the Reod the city's Aon Rao started acting like the Aon that messed up Dilaf's wife. And thus I believe that if zombielantrians were to get outside of the influence range of Elantris, they would turn into non-zombies and of power equal to what Shaod-taken people became before Elantris was built. Reod Elantris wasn't an amplifier, it was a blue screen of death for everyone in range.
  3. Has this been released somewhere yet? Can't wait! EDIT: Hmm :/ Well since it's been a while, I don't feel bad about doing so. I'm making my own version of the font, that is unlikely to be anywhere as good as what these guys are talkin' bout, but maybe can curb the hunger pains 'til it is completed NOT SO GREAT EDIT: It seems my font-creator is not liking my imports from Illustrator... I'll start over... the harder way
  4. Doh! I figured it was too obvious to be left alone :/ Figures I was right. xD Dangit, Hoid was right. I do value timelines more than anything! I joined late and got a lot of catching up to do.
  5. Cusicesh is obviously the god spren of all mermaid-vampires Silly kids... Hemalurgy is for rabbits!
  6. Even then, not everyone on Scadrial was a Feruchemist. They had to at least be part Terrisman, which I doubt Shallan is, though that would be kinda cool xD
  7. There's always the chance that the mist is a side-effect of the weapon condensing, the process causing the before-present air to rapidly evade the entering of the solid object, thus condensing out of the way, forming into thicker-than-air mist and dew. This would mean the weapon would have to condense or appear very quickly so as to overcome the gradual pressure on the rest of the surrounding air. The fact that the weapons turn to mist while penetrating life material, however, is something more likely to pin on your spiritual realm idea. I don't disbelief the whole concept, though. The effect only reminded me of what happens when Lashing, a frost build up on the body or objects. Made me think of it as more of a science-y thing.
  8. Ah yes. The good king's weakness. He's always worried about a knife in the back. Why is he so paranoid? It's like he actually sees the assassins around him all the time. Does this paranoia sound similar to anyone else in the book?
  9. About Shallan's father:
  10. Awesome!
  11. I choose option C! Death BY applause! Surprisingly! Mwahahahahaha! That would indicate Mr. Sanderson's mind has broken into pieces. Oh no! We listen to a madman?!?! Guess it's more fun than not...
  12. Here's a thought:
  13. Perhaps their own homelands?
  14. If this were the case, then perhaps the Aons are fracturing and time is running out 'til a big crack in the wall between the Dor and Sel! That would not be cool. Another thought I've had for a while: Why do you need to only draw one chasm line in the new aons? Technically, there should be one for every duplication of Aon Aon, properly rotated to match each one. Don't get me wrong! I'm glad there is only one chasm line, but perhaps this note can help further your theory or others.
  15. Ah, nice! I really need to reread Mistborn xD So then, maybe it is a deal with concentration? The more concentrated the metal, the more concentration needed to see the various lines, perhaps? Hence why Inquisitors can see the lines so spread out all of the time, due to their advanced metal sense?

  17. 1. Very good point! 3. Ah, ok, don't know much bout those factors in the cosmere. Makes sense to me. 2. Well, pushing and pulling seem tied right into the physical realm. I suppose being electrically charged doesn't really change the electron count so much as it simply excites them, from what I understand. That said, I agree. 4. Ha ha, sorry, ya I meant temperature change in metal worn by the feruchemist as well, not the actual wear-and-tear of the metal. My bad for vague wording xD This ties along with the whole electric charge idea really. I guess I'm actually curious about the physical variances of metal having an effect on allomancy or not. 5. I suppose none of them are ever shown thinking about this. I got the idea from the fact that heating up a piece of steel, like in a forge for blacksmithing, for an excessive length of time can cause the steel to shed the carbon and return to being iron. The other half of my reasoning ties directly to Marsh's ability to look deeper into the allomantic vibrations to specify which metals were being used, and Vin's enhanced seeking able to detect through clouds. Hmm, here's a thought on why it doesn't work. The mistborn trilogy mentions having to get alloys mixed exactly right. If that is the case, then they apparently can not overcome foul alloys by burning select traces in it. 6. I figured the same as well. What gets me curious is based on my perception of push/pull mechanics. It all is based on the pusher/puller's center of gravity. Would that not be the same for the pushed/pulled metal? It's center of gravity should also be the counter point, I assume. If that's true, then one could not choose to pull on the end of a solid metal pole, but have to deal with the center of its mass. Makes things tricky. Also, if this is true, it would seem to be very difficult to determine the outcome of pulling/pushing liquid metal as the mass could easily break apart, changing the center of gravity of what remains. I also assume that the push/pull would choose to focus only on the largest chunk of what breaks apart. Maybe that's false, however, and the line would instead split into several lines, one per blob. This second idea actually seems more likely to me, as a mistborn could push or pull multiple objects about at once. That being my current rationale, I believe the blobs would naturally reduce to a proper size to be maintained easily by their unique liquid surface tension. 'Course, this all fluctuates as the liquid cools down unevenly. 7. I see what you mean about the Inquisitors' ability to see form from the blue lines. It makes sense that a degree of focus or ability would be necessary to distinguish the separation between tightly fused metals, but how tight must that fusion be for the detection to blend to a single piece of metal from the point of view of an average misting of different periods of time. Can't really explain this one with what we got so far, leastwise from what I have recognized. Thanks for sharing your insight, Zas! Always fun to debate useless info xD EDIT: Ooo! What about how Vin could target spots on TLR's tower to push/pull on? I guess it was made of multiple plates of metal though, at least that's most likely...

0.0 Hey, I'm Turos! I live in Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA. It's awesome there's a site like this for us all to drool over wild theories and the like. I hope to indulge in joining said drooling! Lessee, I love all of the books I've read by Brandon, which currently include Mistborn 1-3, Alloy of Law, Elantris, and working on Warbreaker. I've also been looking to sharpen my photoshop skillz, and what better content to reproduce than stuff from the almighty Cosmere?!? Anywho... anything else? Hmm. So far I love all of the Prot- and Ant- variations of agonists in each book, but Lightsong is the one I find similar to myself most, always looking to be as random as ever and a problem-solver

    Chemical Aon Aon

    sweet!
  20. So, then, reading through all of that got me thinking. What would happen to an elantrian, after the Reod and before the fixing of Elantris-Aon Rao, if they were to manage to escape the city and travel outside of the maximum range the Colossal Rao had on Elantrians? If it's true that the Colossal Rao was not required for the Shaod process, wouldn't the elantrian be 'cured' of the hampering effects that the 'broken' Aon caused? It that's the case, then what exactly makes the difference between a faulty Aon and just a bunch of glowing lines that will fade away without effect of any sort? Another thought that came to mind is: what if the elantrian who was treating Dilaf's wife had some idea of who he was or what he stood for and decided to screw up the Aon and make it look like a mistake? I wouldn't want to admit that to my fellow do-goodery elantrians if I had a vendetta against someone.
  21. I remember Raoden adding modifiers to his aons to specify how they work and also what triggers their power. I could imagine myself making a staff with an aon on top that would shoot fire balls whenever I swung it the right way. Heck, take that farther and you get a smaller tool with a barrel loaded with balls of metal and the Aon Ehe on the side that fires the projectile whenever you pull a trigger. With these kind of specific instructions, could tools be made to work for even non-elantrians, as long as they were made by an elantrian and the tool is in proper range of Elantris?

As requested I'm working on those vectors, as well. Feel free to modify.

    Aons Part 1

Do with them as you want They aren't my creation in the first place anyway, just recreation. They're Brandon's fault No they aren't vectors, but I'll make some, too!
  24. xD thanks, I just finished reading the book a while ago, so I don't even know the difference xD
