  1. So I saw this pic of a sword he got. Notice the yellow thing behind it? Brandon just got that much cooler
  2. Here's a present: a box of aluminum misting vials! Yay! ^^ We thought you would enjoy these in case you were an Aluminum Misting, or more, a Mistborn!

  3. Happy Birthday, man!

  4. If Adonalsium was so awesome, the power of creation, why does it seem to need people? Can the Shards not function or exhibit their powers without a host? Also, do shards gain/lose power as humans show more or less of their Intent in themselves?
  5. What if the Shattering was necessary? What if, for the universe to grow, it had to be divided, take some time away from itself, run each quality through imperfection for the sake of learning and growing? Perhaps it was a way to allow the Power of Creation to spread its influence, making more children, breathing life into more planets. What if it has happened before, but this time, creation interfered?
  6. What if he is the original base? Shooting out there, maybe his abilities are unique to a '17th shard' of Adonalsium. Another note: what powers did humans have where Adonalsium came from before it shattered? Or did they have any?
  7. Agreed. Unless you're going for a family-fun, chibi, mistborn activity game (please no), Nintendo just ain't the right fit
  8. My sister told me about Mistborn and Warbreaker. When I finally started reading the former, she tried very hard to keep from spoiling, but she was exited about some guy who appeared in each book. After finishing the first trilogy of Mistborn and reading Elantris and Warbreaker, I remebered her talking about this world-hopper. Ta-dah ta-dah, google shoved me in the right direction Hoid, I owe ya!
  9. hAPPY bIRTHDAY!

Oh ya, and a Happy Birthday, too ;)

  10. Happy Birthday!

  11. Happy Birthday!

  12. Wow, it's been a while since hopping on the forums! Thanks for the award! It's heartening to hear people enjoy using our work
  13. *Face turns red and grabs a pitchfork!* *Snaps pitchfork in half and runs away screaming!*
  14. My name's Jason. Hey. Sup? I have a Bachelor of Arts in Game Design, so video games is a big thing in my creative inspiration factor. An on-and-off reader until recently, I love books and my Amazon Kindle Touch! It even has speakers! Anyway, I'll be honest. My confidence in creative story writing/game story development is rather low, so I figure why not learn from the up-and-coming generation of authors? Don't get me wrong, I'm a self-proclaimed pure genius when it comes to game mechanics, but what good is a smooth-running powerhouse on an engine if the vehicle looks shabby? At the same time, I'm working on some starters of my own, specifically a sci-fi (woah! shock there to me, I'm more into fantasy) story. Hopefully that or a better one ends up here for review. I guess I'm done rambling for now. Thanks for letting me in on the fun!
  15. Wow! First off, I admit I was verging on a tear after watching Rae pass. Their father's tale of beating the system by sacrificing eternal life impressed me. I already have a load of questions waiting to be answered in later chapters! I haven't read Black Magic, Blacker Deeds, but your style of writing another book doesn't feel like it's going to need me to read that to enjoy this one as a stand-alone work, which is good. I have to say I was confused on two parts. I know it could be just me and not anyone else, but here they are anywho: Chapter 1-pg. 1-paragraph 1: Not quite sure what smell this was referencing, her body? If so, then I have to infer that you mean her body wasn't stinking yet. As I read on, you mention the smell of the house, and this causes me to connect the smells as one, but still seems uncertain why it would be explained this way in the quote. The other part that I don't quite get is whether the civil services lady is a cannibal or just really into her job... I could see it either way, but I still have an eerie feeling that its leaning toward the former. Maybe it's just the number of times she is described as hungrily anticipating results, but the whole feeling of people being starved in the winter helps this image. So to sum up, very amazing job. It's a full-fledged hook for me on the part of the legend behind it all. I'm confused on smell of rotting flesh being mercifully comforting. I'm scared to death that every old lady I see walking around town is watching and waiting to dine on my flesh. An honest rating out from me is 4/5. I feel the only thing holding back that last star is my confusion. With further chapters explaining each part would readily pop up up to full stars, however.
  16. Holy shoot! Kelsier is Returned?!? Somehow...?! Exceptions to sDNA, biggest mystery in the cosmere: Kelsier is half Noble/quarter skaa/quarter Nalthisian?!?!?!???!?!!!?!??!!?!?!?!
  17. Well, so much for that speedy response reputation thing... However! Here's my bugtest from version 1.8.9.6 This was tested from the prologue of The Way of the Kings. I was amazed at how smoothly it handled the text. Especially nice job on the tab/period fix The period finally appears after the tab space like it should Like you have mentioned before, it seems like the project is just about perfected. Ha ha! I almost typed 'perfekted' after reading in your transliterated english .uell Tis is turos signing out .iksellent uork kurkistan .
  18. 1st: 2nd: I apologize for not having done another run-through yet. I have been distracted with my new Kindle Touch I will schedule a test tomorrow morning, as I have to go to sleep now and I work graveyard Note the graveyard shift = no social life = extra free time! ... ( )
  19. Ah, makes sense. Awesome! I'll check another article over tomorrow and watch in awe at how shiny it looks after conversion
  20. Cheers for mashing!
  21. I'm gonna pull a 'no' on this one, as there are multiple letter combinations that convert to the same sound in phonetics. Ex.: 'ks' converts to 'X' in this program. 'x' also converts to 'X'. Would be impossible to differentiate between the two. Their are other cases, but it's still too early in the morning for me to come up with them, haha. It would be possible if Kurkistan made a secondary file that recorded every single conversion and listed the location on the page, but I don't dare ask him to put himself through something like that... and it wouldn't work on text someone typed out in Alethi in the first place. Sorry. ---------------------- @Kurkistan: 'ritual' > 'riCual', you got the 'tual' to be 'Cua', but the 'l' is missing. 'factual' is 'facCua' now. Both missing 'l' and 'c' didn't convert to 'k' like it did before. 'introduction' used to convert to 'introduktion' and now converts to 'introducSuhn'. It seems the 'tion' conversion caused the 'c' conversion from before to cancel. Same thing with 'section' losing the 'c' convert for the 'tion' convert. 'each' used to be 'eaC', now it's 'eak'. 'research' was 'researC', now 'researk'. 'which' used to convert to 'uhiC' and now converts to 'huik'. I like the 'sion' to 'zhun' conversion you added, very nice. It is off for cases like 'passion' but perfect for 'diversion'. I use the 'zh' as well in phonetics, and it's cool to see it used elsewhere! I think maybe if its 'sion', 'zhuhn' is correct, but maybe 'ssion' will always be 'Suhn'. Not a big deal though. 'case,' used to convert to 'kase,', but now to 'seys'. I wouldn't imagine the comma removal causing this glitch, but thought its best to incdicate it was there before. 'however,' used to convert to 'houever,', but now to 'houeever'. Extra 'e'. Not important, but perhaps a clue to the comma removal actually causing issues. 'associated' used to convert to 'asociated', but now to 'asoSeeeyted'. No comma involved this time, weird. Oh, I think I understand. its a combo of See with a long e and eyted with a long a sound. Nevermind ^^ 'accomplishing' was 'aksompliSing', now 'uhkuhmpliSing'. Not a big deal, but it gives a heads up to how changes were made to other conversions. Wierd how 'accessible' converts to 'aksesibuhl' with no problem in both versions. I notice you mentioned attacking 'pp'. Not sure how you meant, but here's one still: 'apparatus'. Ah shoot... I hate english exceptions. I never thought that the 'tion' conversion would screw up words like 'bastion' where 'Suhn' would be improper and 'Cuhn' would be more fitting. I don't think this is really worth tackling, though. Darn you english language!!! Spanish would be so much easier. Anywho, ya the tab problem still happened. I'll post the before and after attachments. Tab happens on the fourth paragraph. If it helps, here's a table of character values. The site lists the "horizontal tab" character as number 9 in the list. Something about ASCII values. http://www.asciitable.com/ Before: test4.txt After: Alethi_test4.txt (I'll get rid of these attachments after you respond to my glitch update.)
  22. *cracks knuckles* This grammar you speak of will submit to my awesome reading skills
  23. Shoot, if I were you, I'd take a week off after all that logic work EDIT: Ignore this one. A comma came after the word: 'wrongly' should be 'ronglee', not 'rongly'.
  24. Oo! If you have a list of what makes it more accurate, I would love to fix it up. I know it ain't pretty, but I think of it as a 'typed' version. Never thought of one used on the forums, though. I know in CSS you can make exceptions for what default font is used depending on the browser. No clue if this exists for custom fonts defaulting to a universal one like serif, but would be cool. Ah well.
