This paragraph clearly indicates the Bondsmiths can be more than three. If there are only three specific spren for the Bondsmiths how would they have grown? I have no doubt that there are currently three god-spren. My belief is that there were more than three great-spren for the Bondsmiths and that they were the Dawnshards.
-
The Storm would have predated the death, but his role as the Stormfather, to create Honorspren, came after the merging. My theory is that, before the death of Honor, Bondsmiths traditionally bonded the Dawnshards. In the current Era though, they bond the God-sprens to treat with Odium. This line implies to me that the storm became the Stormfather because of the merging. The face in the sky is actually of Honor, not the spren of the storm, as that is whats depicted in the mural along side Cultivation and Adonalsium(?). I don't think the three pictures are the depictions of the traditional Bondsmith spren. Another observation regarding the 'Storm'. If my theory is correct, that the current Stormfather was formerly of the Dawnshards aka the Storm. 1: Urithiru is powered by spren 2: Urithiru has strata. 3: Kholinar has strata. 4. Dawncities have strata? 5: Dawncities powered by spren? 6: Was Stormseat the Dawncity associated to the HighStorm spren? 7: Was the Shattered Plains a consequence of the merging of the spren with Honor?

Sja-Anat + Deadeyes + Ghostblood = Non-Oathbounded Radiant aka Renarin equivalant(?)

In the past, Honor and/or Cultivation would not have needed the Bondsmiths to facilitate the confrontation with Odium. The function of the Bondsmiths within the Order have always been, as their Second Oath, to bind men together. Honors merging with the spren of the HighStorm and his bid for the it to deliver his visions would have provided future Bondsmiths the 'power/ability/authority' to deal with Odium.
-
That's because we are led to believe that the bondsmiths have always bonded god-spren. I don't think they did. Before the death of Honor, I don't think there were any god-spren.
-
Well, I don't think that the Bondsmiths are limited to 3 spren. Their spren may have been specific, but it may not be specific to three.

You wouldn't prefix a name with 'the'. Although, the epigraph Sibling could be referring to the Stormfather and the Stormfather himself may refer to another.
-
Yeah, I just found that. Gosh darn it, was trying to edit my response. What I find weird is the use of the term 'Sibling', why don't they just use its name?
-
We call it 'the' Sibling, there isnt really a 'the' reference in the book. I always thought that it meant Honors perpendicularity before it was merged with the Stormfather.
-
Could be, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it also refers to 'two'.
-
My crazy theory: The Sibling is joined together with Ba-Ado-Mishram inside the gemstone prison. Its why we don't get a proper name/gender for it. Its nature is changed. The Stormfather put it in the godspren category because it now bears Odiums investiture. BAMs new found ability to make Connections probably caused problems when Melishi went to capture it. This has a minor connection to my theory that previous bondsmith spren were not godspren but the 'Dawnshard' aka Adonalsium greatspren.

Dai-gonarthis = (one of the) Dawnshard Dai-gonarthis is said to have caused the destruction of Aimia and the Dawnshards were aluded to have been used to destroy Aimia. Dai-gonarthis may/may not be an Unmade. My overall theory is that all the Unmade (9) + Nightwatcher + Stormfather + Sibling + Cusisech + Dai-gonarthis + 2 more unknown greatspren were the Dawnshards (total 16) All references to the term shard has been pointing to investiture. In the context of Roshar, Dawnshard could easily be a reference to great/god spren 'Made' by Adonalsium.
-
I think that has more to do with the Fused being more spren-like after so long without pyhsical bodies..

Metal fibre cables for bowstring with shardplate strength to draw?

So,a normal Truthwatcher would skew towards Physical-Ilumination. Whereas Renarin leans greatly towards Spritual-Illumination.

[OB] Cusicesh, the 3rd Bondsmith Spren?
ScavellTane replied to Bigmikey357's topic in Stormlight Archive
Here's the thing... There are 10 gas giants + 3 planets + 3 moons = 16. I would think that Roshar became 10-centric only after Honor and Cultivation arrived. Before that, it would have been Adonalsium's 16. Mad theory, follow me here.. There were 16 major spren on Roshar before the Shattering. When Odium came to Roshar proper, he corrupted 9 of them and used them basically to sow chaos. yada yada yada... then Honor and Cultivation altered 3 for the Bondsmith/Radiants. if my theory is correct, there would still be 4 unknown major spren which may include Cusicesh.- 62 replies

[OB] Cusicesh, the 3rd Bondsmith Spren?
ScavellTane replied to Bigmikey357's topic in Stormlight Archive
Possibly nonsense thought.. Do we know whether the 'Made' and the 3 radiant god-sprens are on the same spectrum? If they are, shouldn't there be a total of 16 major spren considering they would predate the Shattering and would be of Adonalsium? Or did the number 16 only came into significance after the Shattering?- 62 replies

[OB] Where did the listeners get their shardblades?
ScavellTane replied to Calvin101's topic in Stormlight Archive
No doubt they could have found one or two in and around the Shattered Plains or even in the warcamps where they lived before moving to Narak. What I don't understand is how would they have learned to bond the blades if they never had any contact with human society. -
The scratching on the walls made all the difference it seems. It pushed Dalinar to head towards the center, which lead to the discovery of Urithiru, the death of Eshonai and Kaladin mending his bond.
-
Somehow I got it into my head that they appear as Deadeyes in Shadesmar even when they are summoned. Welp, that just means that Deadeyes only started appearing when the gemstones were added to the blades.
-
If bonded-dead-blades appear as Deadeyes in Shadesmar would we not have at least saw one around the Thaylen Oathgate spren?
-
I don't think unsummoned blades appear as deadeyes in Shadesmar. I think they remain in the Physical Realm. They're just invisible as Syl, Pattern and Ivory are invisible to everyone else except their Radiants. Deadeyes are formerly Bonded-spren that are intentionally, physically left in Shadesmar.
