I would hazard that they are digging towards the cities gemheart core. -

I wouldn't have thought that the black spheres would have been stored in a place where digging would be required. -
The surgebinders did not began as an Order. The Oaths and the Knights came later. The Oaths very much defined the Orders. You believe the 'precepts and laws' concerns the Knights and their organization. I believe it pertains to the spren. As we have seen they are to ones who choose. They choose their person, they discern the oaths and the surgebinders adjust accordingly as the bridgemen are doing.

The spren chose their Oaths and the Oaths formed into the various orders. Its the necessity of Oath-making that Ishar bind to them. Previously a surgebinder would not have needed any oaths to gain their full power. Only the Honorspren chose specific people. All the other spren would likely have chosen anybody they could bond with.

Well he got the idea of perfect gemstones from somewhere. He might have had access to BAMs prison. -

I'd say Gavilar made prototype perfect gems. He would not have the kind of precision the Radiants have, thus his 'perfect gems' would not compare to theirs. -
The Oaths were imposed on the surgebinders because of infighting amongst themselves as aluded by the Nohadon vision. It lead to near disaster right before the onset of a desolation. I agree with MountainKing that the Oaths was aseparate addition to the Nahel-bond. Its the difference between a surgebinder (which all native Rosharans are to a certain extent) and a KR.

Are there other significant spren activities tied to these timings?

[OB] Ishar bound Odium (kinda)

I thought that Ishar being called Binder of Gods was because he bound the Radiant spren to the Oaths. -
[OB] Ashyn isn't the Tranquiline Halls. Roshar is.
ScavellTane replied to Overlord Jebus's topic in Stormlight Archive
It doesn't make sense for pre-Recreance lore to retain knowledge of the Tranquiline Halls as Ashyn and not have any expedition to reclaim/visit it considering the KRs mastery of the surges. Of course it can be said that Odium could reasonably attack them outside of Roshar as we don't know that the Oathpact keeps Odium and the Fused in Braize or keeps them out of Roshar. It make sense to me that the Tranquiline Halls is physically located in either Aimia or Stormseat. The Singers/Voidbringers drove the humans out of it and the humans believe that one day they would be able to reclaim it.- 21 replies

Reviving a dead thread. According to the Stormfather the Dawnshards were used to destroy the Tranquiline Halls. If my theory of the Dawnshards being the Bondsmith spren proves true. Then tales regarding the Dawnshards would likely be limited only to Roshar. IMO: The physical Tranquiline Halls are either located on Aimia or were located in Stormseat. Those are the two places that we know were 'destroyed' by something powerful.- 21 replies

The Stormfather indicates that there are 3 siblings that are god-spren. It does not preclude there being other siblings that are not god-spren. Concerning my assertions that The Unmade were formerly Dawnshards, is that they were formerly bonded to Bondsmiths and were used to somehow bind Odium to Roshar, which is what Bondsmiths do. That bonding of Odiums investiture created the Unmade. Although this distinction troubles me. A furthering of my theory would be that the distinction is between Storm, Spren and Stone. That there are three distinct types of great-spren for the Bondsmiths. Which doesn't quite make sense within my theory of there being 16 Dawnshards, how would that be divided? Although Brandon has mentioned that one of the Dawnshards is different than all the others, I believe that pertains to the merging of B.A.M and Melishis bondmate.

I have no idea why the Bondsmiths were limited to just three. There has been no indication to its reason other than our implications that there are 3 Shards in the Rosharan system.

I perceive the growth itself as seditious.
