  1. Would that steal Atium shadows or an increased Fortune Mistborn possesses while burning Atium? Hard to say. Because future vision is powered by Atium's investiture from that Atium bead, you would likely need that to use it. With electrum it's different. And then if you can steal it, how long would it last? Burning Atium/Electrum doesn't give you permanent future vision, so stealing it shouldn't give you permanent increase of Fortune. Would your stolen Atium shadows be powered by investiture contained in that spike (which is Ruin's) until it runs out, which should be really fast, dozens of seconds at best, after which you lose that power and have an empty spike in your body? Stealing Atium/electrum shadows just generates many problems when you think about how it would work, that I don't think it works at all.
  2. No, they see by steelsight all the time, without the need to burn steel/iron. Hemalurgy changes your body, and putting spikes in your eyes does things like this. HoA Epigraphs, ch 41
  3. Not like that, leeching when Radiant touches Mistborn to use Division. Division will work on Mistborn, but chromium would suck Radiant's investiture so quickly with this power, that it's likely Mistborn will drain him entirely before he does any serious damage to him. Mistborn, you might lose a hand if Radiant touches him by the hand, but Radiant will lose all Stormlight. So it’s an advantage for Mistborn. Radiant would need to avoid touching Mistborn as chromium is his most powerful weapon when he has Dor.
  4. Why chromium? It doesn't stop a punch in a head. Leeching while they try to use division on you might be much more effective than Division itself. Can a horseshoe trick go as fast as 200mph? I doubt. Not to mention that while doing it, you can't fight. Why? Abrasion doesn't stop force of impact. I've already talked about it on page 1. Bondsmiths just take away your Allomancy.
  5. Shards exist in Spiritual Realm, Spiritual Realm is made out of investiture. Spiritual Realm has no space or time. So any anti-intesiture Shard would end up there and be annihilated in contact with investiture there. So no. And not to mention you couldn't gather that much investiture in the first place to create a Shard. Shards have nearly infinite investiture. And it would have like an anti-intent? Anti-Honor, Anti-Odium etc. Depending on whose investiture you use.
  6. You said nothing about different species. You can't force or teach a chicken to burn a metal, and they have to for you to steal steelsight. Moreover identity contamination - you are placing an animal's identity and soul into your spirit web, which likely won't do good for you - chimeras most likely. It's still better to spike a Coinshoter and put that spike in your eye. And a single spike can only take attribute/power from one person, and you can have 4 spikes before exposing yourself to Harmony, and if you want more, it would cause you big issues (5 is still a limit that you can get powers from). Taking into account the cost of aluminum in era 2, you could afford new metalminds faster than aluminum for that "trick". Most allomantic metals are just common and cheap, so no problems here. Simple ring or piercing gives you a lot of storage. Not only. Fortune is future vision and any kind of sensing future, which is done by looking into SR
  7. There is only one way for a Feruchemy to get weaker, getting less attributes than you store it. What is the other way the generational decay can manifest? The WoB talks only about a generational decay, which is manifested by getting less attribute than you store it, which makes it not 1:1. That's it. Feruchemist don't get 1:1 stored to tapped ratio, because their power get diluted over time, just like Allomancy was. There is no other logical way for Feruchemy to get weaker. And it is still just a little bit, so it's not significant, which is confirmed by the fact that no Feruchemist ever noticed that they were getting less than they stored when they were tapping 1:1.
  8. Glad to have you back I don't understand. Why would it be dangerous to stop compounding, and why would they have to tap a metalmind? Miles didn't compound all the time.
  9. It's not a regular Mistborn, it's a Dor powered Mistborn, that changes a lot. While the plate is hard to overcome, with his powers simply pushing coins could crack a plate, pewter punch would by equal to Shardplate punch, and leeching would be almost instant. His much more challenging opponent than regular Mistborn.
  10. The WoB is all about the same thing. Decay in power happening over generations, making it not being 1:1 when tapped. The loss of power was in era 1, is in era 2, but it is still negligible so it's ~1:1, it's practically 1:1 as there is no measurable or noticeable loss.
  11. HoA ch 26, Spook can drink alcohol without getting drunk, because of pewter. So it does helps with poison. Does it provide general resistance to a poison or get rid of it is hard to say. I would say it's the first option, as pewter healing is working on a longer timeframe, not that short. I also think that Vin had very little pewter left in her, so that also might play a role.
  12. Didn't Ruin power Marsh Allomancy the same way Vin was powering Elends? It was certainly described that way. And WoB confirms, Ruin can fuel Allomancy:
  13. It restricts their actions, making them incapable of doing something against their Intent. Like Preservation can destroy, nor can he hurt somebody. The mere thought of him hurting Elend is causing him to agonize. He just couldn't do it. The same with Ruin, he can't act to Preserve something, he has to destroy or at least create a scenario which ends in destruction. I think those two are the best example of how Intent limits the actions of a Shard. Odium is tricky, as Rayse actively tries to redefine the intent of his Shard to Passion with some effects. So Odium isn't just pure hate. Their limitations are also very situational. What does it mean for Preservation to Preserve? Does it mean maintaining the current state of affairs at all costs? But that's not the case, as after 1000 years of stasis, Mists started to Snap people. This is a change. He changed his behavior and Preserved Kelsier because he begged him. He changed his opinion on Kelsier and became part of his crew. Intent to Preserve isn't forcing Preservation to Preserve himself, it's focused outwards not inwards. Like Ruin isn't ruining himself. So it's hard to say how much Shards are limited, as Vin Preservation was still able to level Ashmounts, shift planet rotation and things like that - she wasn't acting to Preserve current world. but to Preserve people living in it.
  14. How would F-steel help with Vin's horseshoes? It is physical speed, it doesn't affect flying.
  15. Common misconception, plate armor doesn't considerably restrict your movement. Having 30 kg of metalminds would be really "handy" for a compounder - that would be basically a Shardplate. Add a sword and shield made out of metalminds and you have a Shardblade and a Half-Shard.
  16. I think no, because it doesn't have a soul or binding points. Limb cut off by a Shardblade doesn't have binding points.
  17. I know you like this WoB, but it's just "a little bit weaker", so in our calculation it's negligible, compared to compression happening when tapped 2x. So for all intended purposes it is 1:1, as 0.1% loss is not that much.
  18. I agree with it. Electrum and Atium shadows are the effects of Fortune, they aren't a sense, so you can't steal them. I think Lifesense can be stolen, it can be clouded by coppercloud so it is a sense of some sort.
  19. It takes weeks for gems to fully leak. And that's only the smaller ones in spheres. Bigger ones last even longer. They won't fight this long. And we don't know if jars don't leak. They glow so maybe. Yes, it does. When a boxer escapes a ring and runs away, he loses the fight. The same is here, we are talking about ways to fight, not escaping. If they want to escape, they admit they are weaker, and that they would lose in a fight. Windrunner heals effects of g-forces, and he doesn't have to move that quick to cause him a problem and still would be able to catch up to him. The same with Skybreakers. Edgedancers and Dustbringers can move very fast, more than 100 km/h, so faster than a Mistborn. If Elsecaller can use Transportation to teleport himself anywhere he wants, he can keep up too. So half of the Orders can keep up with Mistborn running away. Instead of finding ways for Mistborn to escape, find a way for him to fight.
  20. At that point Leras was still holding Preservation. He could talk to Kelsier, because he still was Preservation. I think he still got that chance, and because Kel Ascend to Preservation, it might spear him from being destroyed by Ruin, if he could do it. But judging by his view on staying in CR, he most likely just went immediately to the Beyond.
  21. For a steelsight? You are most likely killing everyone, as stealing attributes is done by spiking the heart, at least for now. And you know, it's just steelsight, not steel push. It isn't worth the trouble. If you want it, just take a steel spike (with A-iron/steel, and put it in your eye, or even an empty one like Kel have). That's much easier and cleaner. What you meant with aluminum is a way to empty a metalmind? Why??? Yes, you can do it. But you know what's better? New metalmind. One day you ming need that metalmind filled with attributes and you will regret emptying it. And that's if the metal survives burning aluminum, allomantic metals disappear, chromium gets rid of spikes and metalminds as well. So it's very likely you just destroy your metalmind filled with attributes.
  22. I'm not sure if Ire orb would be necessary, it provides connection. But because sprens can Ascend, I guess Vin after death could as well. But this doesn't mean help isn't needed. In most cases Shards were also Splintered so they couldn't be picked up again. What happened to the Vessel's CS during that time is unknown. I think that as well. Leras also said many people try to run, so I guess some want to stay, but aren't CS so they can't.
  23. Yes, because back then they were splinters of Adonalsium. His investiture existed everywhere, he created Roshar and invested it. When he was Shattered, investiture was splintered to 16 equal parts, and associated with a Shard. Investiture of every Shard is spread across the whole Cosmere. Honor and Cultivation decided to settle on Roshar and invested it, making majority of Roshar's investiture originate from them. They also created sprens - like Honorspren or Cultivationspren, which I doubt existed in the days of Adonalsium. We don't know what kind of spren existed in the days of Adonalsium, but it is still likely that Adonalsium created fully sapient spren (similar to Honorspren). It might not even be intentional, as investiture tents to develop sapience on its own. Every spren is a piece of Shard’s investiture. So even Angersprens are made of Shard's investiture, they just likely have less of it than Honorspren.
  24. Fused are called Listeners and Singers gods, he was talking about them, and Eshonai even calls them as a plural form. And it wasn't Odium that ordered to kill Gavilar. It was Nale actually. He gave Venli permission to kill him and information about Szeth. Eshonai, dreadful by Gavilar's will to bring Fused back, convinced The Five to do something about it, and with Velni information, they decided to kill him.
  25. That's an interesting theory. Very interesting observations. Her relation to light is a bit tricky. Brandon said she can metabolize calories into Lifelight (before RoW he said Stormlight), and even said it works like Mistborn burning metals. This is a limitation that Bondsmiths have at all. Both Navani and Dalinar just create it, without any input. Then Lift can only use Lifelight to power her Edgedancer abilities, and she can't even draw Stormlight in from gems. That's another weird thing, and we don't know yet if Navani has the same limitation. So if your theory is true, Cultivation also had to mess with her spirit web, to make her Lifelight generation work like it does. So WoBs about Lift's light And her language skills might be related to resonance between her two powers, but it's an open door for speculations, as Brandon Rafo'd that: No, Bondsmiths have the same Surges. Lift in this theory is bonded to two sprens, Wyndle and Nightwatcher, giving her access to four Surges at once.
