  1. @Frustration I'm not getting into the same discussion with you on this one. We already had one, this is the same as regular Fullborn vs 5th Ideal Windrunner, but one has infinite fuel in form of Stormlight, other has also infinite fuel in form of Mist and supercharged Allomancy and Feruchemy. With Mists Fullborn can also heal indefinitely, and he is no longer limited to his metalminds. So at worst you have a duel of two god-like creatures that can't be killed, at best some weird shenanigans that could immobilize their opponent.
  2. No, Shardblades are how spren manifest fully in Physical Realm, in Cognitive Realm (Shadesmar) they already have "a body" there, we saw this in OB, after the Kholinar siege. They can't change their form when they are fully in CR. But when bonded, they partially exist in both CR and PR, when they are in the form of a Shardblade, they exist mostly in PR. They are limited in how big they can get, because they have a certain amount of Investiture in them, and can't get bigger than that.
  3. No, they're very limited. Likely a Shardblade size is the biggest they can manifest in the Physical Realm SA5 chapters:
  4. Vin Ascended after consuming every last bit of Mists, If Fullborn has the same amount of Mists available, he will Ascend as well, not to the Preservation, but to the same power level as there was in the Well - maybe he will be limited in what can he do with them, but his Allomancy and Feruchemy is on a god level. It's the same thing, in the Well it was a more concentrated form of it, Mists however are spread across the whole planet. Fullborn can open his own perpendicularity and move safely to CR. Please, just admit it. There is no point in arguing about it. Normal Fullborn can already deal with Windrunner, Fullborn with Mists is on another level. Even without Well-level power, without the ability to push on Shardblades, Fullborn still is overpowered with Mists. Atium and F-steel.
  5. Earth isn't part of Cosmere, there is no Earth there. And Spiritual Realm is timeless and spaceless, you can't go there or travel through there. 4 dimensional beings like humans can't exist in 0 dimension. Everything partially exists in the Spiritual Realm already, but except for Shards, nothing exists mainly there.
  6. Rafo: But yes, you can have Syl turning into a Shardgun, but you would need to have a separate, normal ammo for it. She can only turn into one thing. Spren can turn into any metallic object, like into a Shardbow without a string, or into a Shararrow to fabrial Shardbows. Or into a Shardgun or Shardbullet of some sort. If you are bonded with 2 spren, one could turn into a Shardgun, the other into a Shardbullet, but you would still need a shell filled with gunpowder, into which Shardbullet would be placed. Spren can't move on their own, so you need to make a proper propulsion system.
  7. If Fullborn can burn Mists to fuel his Allomancy (like Vin when Ascending to Preservation), he can fuel his Feruchemy with it as well: So there is no competition at all. Fullborn has the power to push on traces metal everywhere, can crush buildings with steel push and, his emotional Allomancy is more powerful than it is when used with Duralumin with regular metals, and his Feruchemy is now overpowered. He can push on a Shardblade and a Shardplate with this power, as he basically now holds the equivalent amount of power to the Well of Ascension. He is a god now. Windrunner poses no threat to him.
  8. Mist burn all of them? You mean burn Mists like Vin in HoA? It would be a good idea to edit the post and add a poll. Dude, Fullborn has infinite access to Atium, and if he can burn Mist, every Allomantic and Feruchemical power is now supercharged, with Mist he can heal indefinitely, how on Storms would Windrunner win? No way. Without Mists, Atium provides such an advantage that there is no way for Windrunner to ever hit him with anything, even with a Shardblade. If Windrunner somehow comes down to the ground, he is dead or immobilized indefinitely (F-steel to get to him, F-pewter to break the plate, F-pewter to punch him in a head crushing it, and punching into the spine and heart, A-chromium infinitely leeching - Windrunner can't even move a finger, if he isn't already dead at this point).
  9. The WoB is about reusing the spike in the sense of taking an already invested spike and trying to steal something again with it from a different person. That's what Set scientists were doing, and they did mention they had a problem with identity contamination, like WoB said. Like WoB said, you can spike and steal from one person, and if that person somehow survives, you can spike and steal from them again using the same spike. Both pieces of stolen soul have the same identity, so they won't interfere with each other. The WoB is about stealing from multiple people using the same spike. That's very different from what Wax and Wayne did. They just took an already invested spike, and spiked themself to get powers that already were in those spikes. That's what Kandra and Koloss in Era 2 are doing, that's what Koloss and Inquisitors were doing in Era 1. They just took an already invested spike and placed it in a different person.
  10. They make me think too much when I don't have the energy to think anymore!
  11. That could be possible? I think. They're invested, so they would resist, but if enough investiture is applied to Forgery, it might work. But that would be weird.
  12. I think it's something like that as well, WoBs:
  13. Ok, They can suppress their Divine Breath while maintaining some of the benefits coming form it. I forget about this part of it, and this WoB clarifies this: But Divine Breath suppression doesn't work by creating a fake soul on top of an existing one. So I don't think that Hemalurgy would work that way, and be partially suppressed. Maybe with enough investment you could forge yourself to be spiked only by 2 spikes not 4, and thus still granting you additional strength of 2 man? But I think that everything related to the effects granted by a spike would have to be done by forging the spike directly. Forging a binding point might be more difficult than it sounds. Yes, Kandra can move them around, but they have fluid, non-human bodies, you're not. In many cases (or all), binding points depend heavily on the organs and tissue spikes pierce. For example, you would have to Forge your body to grow your heart a few centimeters to the right instead, so a spike would be piercing a different binding point in your heart instead of the original one. In extreme situations you would need to forge your body to grow heart tissue in your arm or something like that. And a spike placed in a different binding point might not work anymore:
  14. You can't get to Kholinar or Herdaz's capital, siege it, storm its walls and all of that within 10 day with an army marching by land from the Shattered Plains (the army which currently is stationed near the border of Tukar, weeks away from the nearest Oathgate) being your only way to those cities. Ghostbloods are a secret organization, they want to monopolize investiture across Cosmere, not conquer Roshar, they don't have an army capable of capturing a heavily fortified city with Surgebinders in it. Ghostbloods literally has no Surgebinders in their ranks. Moash traveled through several captured villages and cities before he got to besieged Kholinar. Venli as well. Singers actively quickly overran the whole Alethkar, which was even said by Dalinar before the mission to Kholinar even began. Alethkar fell, Khilinar was the only last major city still resisting the Singers (except the southern coast). But the capital isn't whole Alethkar. Capturing one city won't magically despawn all Odium's forces from the whole Alethkar. They will still occupy the majority of Alethkar, and Odium would still have Alethkar to give up according to the contract. They are a secret organization, they operate from the shadows. Secret organizations don't have a large standing army, as that defies the secrecy of their operations. He's in Tukar. HOW? That's wrong thinking here. Odium forces struggle a lot with defeating Herdazian partisans, he has to keep significantly larger forces to ensure all partisans are defeated, no local population will resist his rule, and to keep the region from rebelling against his rule. Herdaz capital might have more (or the same amount of) soldiers per 1000 population than Kholinar, because Kholinar barely resisted, while Herdaz fought for a year. That's how occupation works. You don't conquer the land and then move out all your troops from that land. The more the local population resists your occupation, the more forces you need to keep there. Examples - Napoleon and Spain. It doesn't work that way. Hoid remarked, after Dalinar made a deal, that it's unlikely that Rayse will misinterpret the terms of the contract. This means that how one interpret the terms influences a way in which the contract needs to be fulfilled. And Taravantian literally spotted the loophole the moment he looked at the terms. That's not "to the letter of the law" behavior. What is a "core city"? There is no such a thing as a "core city" unless the country is a city state. Odium doesn't have an entire Alethkar under his control right now... What you are saying doesn't make any sense. And here is the contract: There is no "whole" before Alethkar and Herdaz, nor "all of" or "entire", so this excludes the lands of these countries that Odium doesn't occupy right now, and won't occupy in the future. Therefore as long as Odium holds any piece of Alethkar and Herdaz, he can return them with all of their citizens intact (all of the people living in the occupied lands). Capturing a capital isn't the same as capturing a country, and never will be. And just to show you how little one city means in terms of population - English population in 1500 - 2.6 mil people, Londyn population in 1500 - 50000 people. That's 2% of the whole of England. It doesn't matter. Alethkar sustains 100000 active soldiers, in medieval Europe typically a country can sustain an army size of around 1% of its total population. So Alethkar would have around 10 mil population. Kholinar would have around 200000 people based on that. A lot, but not that much compared to the whole nation. But Alethi are a militarized society, and they can afford more, like 2%, so that's 5 mil total population, and 100000 in Kholinar. So tell me, how capturing a single city will bring the entire country under Coalition control, when 98% of its citizens are still under Odium's occupation?
  15. Oh my. Hemalurgic spikes pierce a soul and fills that hole with someone else's piece of soul. Forgery creates a fake soul that is attached on top of the existing one. And investiture resists investiture. So based on that it's possible that the fake soul would also be pierced by spikes (or spikes investiture would repel Forgery investiture leaving holes in your fake soul, filled with hemalurgic pieces, giving you powers from spikes). But with enough investiture you would be able to create a strong fake soul that would cover those spikes fragments as well (but losing everything you gained from those spikes, however spikes still remain in the body). But if you want to hack Hemalurgy, you would need to apply Soulstamps to each individual spike, not to your whole soul. That's what I think. I guess with enough investiture you could revert Koloss back to human form, making them fully lose every gain from spikes (as long as Soulstamp is repeated periodically). But making his spikes into Kandra Blessings won't work as they are made for Mistwraiths therefore you would need to forge more than 1000 years of his history to make that work, and that kind of Soulstap is too unrealistic to hold at all. Not to mention Koloss has 4 spikes, Kandra only 2. And we don't even know if Kandra Blessings works on humans at all. Zahel still has normal Breaths on top of his Returned Breath. As long as he suppresses his Returned Breath, he has no Heightenings from it (maybe except 5th). I think that greater strength and speed is visible when they partially stop suppressing his Breath (like when rescuing the girl in Warbreaker), but I'm not sure on this one.
  16. Ryshadium evolved from horses brought by humans from Ashyn. If Adonalsium created humans on Yolen, then he could apply the same similar features when creating Singers on Roshar. Even if he didn't create humanity, he could still copy something from them, because why change something that works so well?
  17. You can't conquer a country the size of Australia in 10 days. Even a modern military facing no resistance won't do it. It's just not possible. And no, they don't need to take only the capital. Alethkar felt far earlier than Kholinar, Dalinar just didn't want to acknowledge that. He hoped that if they manage to get the the city, they could reconquest Alethkar from its center (which would still take months to do). And siege of Kholinar last weeks before the final assault took place. Getting to Kholinar with any army within 10 days is impossible. The Coalition can't get to Herdaz. They don't have access to any of the northern Oathgates, and Odium forces have full control over northern oceans. Any other third party (Ghiostbloods have no army) would face even bigger problems. Getting to Herdaz is even harder than to Kholinar, and the Coalition no longer has Jah Keved on their side that borders Herdaz. Not to mention that Herdraz has dozens of small islands along the coast, if Odium has control over at least one of those, he still can fulfill the contract. The deal must be kept to its spirit, not just to the letter. Dalinar still controls a small portion of southern Alethkar, so if what you are saying is true, Odium can't fulfill the deal right now, and would clarify that when talking to Dalinar. So no, it's not like that. Capital is just one city, and has a small fraction of the population of the entire country. It doesn't count as the whole country.
  18. They have 10 days. The invasion in Marat took weeks/months to conclude, and they were facing small Odium forces with superior numbers, logistics and with the full force of a multinational coalition. Most of the Coalition army was still there when Dalinar made a deal with Odium, there is no way for them to return to Urithiru in 10 days, not to mention attack Althekar or Herdaz. Using Oathgates is out of the question, so the army would have to march there from the Shattered Plains, which alone would take more than a month. And even if an exhausted army out of supplies miraculously managed to get to and conquer both Althekar and Herdaz in 10 days, if Odium forces control at least 1 village in every country, Odium will still have something to return, fulfilling the contract.
  19. I expect it would be something similar to what already exists in nature with animals or Singers, e.g. bonding Gravitationspren would make you lighter, or stronger (Workform), Windspren would make you a bit faster (Nimbleform), etc. However because humans don't have a gemheart, there would be no physical changes, and the benefits of those bonds won't be that dramatic like in case of Singers. They won't be able to access any form of Surgebinding, even on a smaller scale - like Singer's forms of powers wouldn't be something humans would have.
  20. Not really. Fist of, they make a deal, very serious deal. Secondly, I bet If Paalm just walked away and don't try to abolish the world, and simply just go wherever she wanted, do something non invasive, Sazed would just leave her alone despite her breaking the Contract. But what else Sazed could have done when she tried to abolish society and bring revolution to Elendel? It's the opposite for Kandra now. They can live among humans, and change bodies however they want. They don't have to follow contracts and do terrible things (like eating their own kind), they don't have to fear Resolution, they can experiment with their bodies, experience love, and most importantly, develop their unique culture. They have far more freedom now than ever before, and the only thing they need to do is to work sometimes, like everybody. They don't have it bad at all, and many of them like working with Harmony. Also, many of them can pursue their own hobbies, like ReLuur, who was fascinated by the Bands, BoM ch 3:
  21. No It was because Paalm broke her agreement with Harmony, which exposed her to his direct intervention and control. Ch 7 Kandra have a contract with Harmony (the Second Contract?) which likely says something like "I won't control you if you work for me".
  22. Because that would cost a fortune, which she didn't have.
  23. Then I strongly advise you to read Edgedancer and Dawnshard novellas. To be fair, I strongly advise you to read all of Cosmere!
  24. Well, there is this whole book named "Dawnshard", that should be read in between Stormlight Archive 3 and 4 (Oathbringer and Rhythm of War). There you can find a lot of information about Dawnshards, as you would expect from a book named Dawnshard Basically Dawnshards are a very powerful Command, which can supercharge Invested Art you are using, to achieve something that is impossible without them. There are no known examples of using any Dawnshards except for the Shattering of Adonalsium, and a second one related to the Stormlight Archive. So did you read SA?
  25. You need not only a very strong Connection to that particular Shard, but also a good understanding of his nature. That's why Kel had such troubles as Preservation, he was lacking both of them. The very first thing he tried to do was to throw his power against Ruin to hurt him and nothing happened as Preservation's power opposed that. That's it, it gave him strong Connection to Preservation. Hoid said to Adonalsium, together with 16 people, that they were doing it for his (Adonalsium's) own good. And some of those people taking part in this wanted power, and for other reasons. We know barely anything about this event. We know Hoid was part of it, he thought it was a necessary action, Dawnshards were used, one Shard offered itself to Hoid, but he refused, and 16 people Ascended and became Shards. Not much more. We don't know whose idea that was, who was a leader of this, and certainly we don't know if Hoid had other people Ascend. They were likely there for their own reasons.
