  1. Its not too wild a stretch to imagine one of Sadeas guards belongs to the Ghostbloods. Or any secret society. Its possible we should also add Diagram in as suspects, also have agents everywhere, and with Szeth out...they have nearly zero possibility of murdering Dalinar.
  2. Yes, but Desolations last what, a few years, a couple of decades? Radiants would have lived there all the time, even between Desolations.
  3. I guess it will depend on how much they gain from been squires. Truly, I'm more concerned with ensuring the Honorblade doesn't end up in the wrong hands than taking advantage of its power. Sometimes its better power remains unused than to see it used for the wrong purpose.
  4. I agree, Stoneward probably fits well. I'm open to the idea that the Knights change with time to get closer to the idea, as you can't (usually) have a person be a perfect fit from the get go. But I agree I'm not completely sold on the Edgedancer part. I could see it happen, but it would take time. While Stoneward or yes, Dustbringer, could fit quite well since the start. @Kingsdaughter613
  5. Main reason why Adolin as Dustbringer was dropped was a WoB saying we haven't seen a pov from a future Dustbringer yet. Of course could just be a debunked WoB, it has happened before, either by mistake or changing his mind afterwards .
  6. Ah sorry, I should have specified I meant this concretely for Adolin. Reasons why its believed Adolin will revive blade it: He is sort of Edgedancer material (at least has the potential?) and WoB says his Blade is an Edgedancer spren He befriends everyone, regardless of rank or eyes He hates Sadeas for the tower, and thinks specifically of those that were his friends and men that he lost there. Even Dalinar is more focused on the political and military power he lost there than the specific men He saved the whore in Sadeas camp without a second thought Adolin can't get the Thrill during the battle of Narak He dismishes his blade, then there is a written in italics "duck", Eshonai attacks from behind. The duck is a big point of contention, with some saying its the blade, some thinking its just his instincts as a warrior He summons his blade to fight Eshonai immediately, no comment of 10 heartbeats He is happy to fight Eshonai as he no longer feels he is fighting an unfair fight (worthy oponent vs slaughter) And then of course there is how he talks to his blade before each duel and refuses to name it I think thats all, but lets just page @maxal in case I missed anything.
  7. The most hilarious part of the blade revival idea is that one of the main columns in the idea is the Duck in the battle of Narak.
  8. Awesome post. But I would almost hate it if it were true. Because it sounds like absolute torture both for Radiant and spren ^^.
  9. I'd be ok with it going to Adolin in the short run, just for basic perks of drawing stormlight. But more permanently my top picks would be someone reliable of Bridge 4. Teft or Skar would be good.
  10. I'm really against the idea of Adolin been separated from his blade. Because I'm fully behind the idea of reviving it, and since the spren is dead I don't see how it could ever be revived without being bonded to the spren already. Yes, I know he could theoretically recover it later but...seems iffy. I suspect if a blade is ever revived it has to be because a person advances somehow to 3rd ideal minimun (believe this as once Kaladin killed Syl only way to bring her back was to say the words, even before dying she said it was the only way, as he was too far gone to just go back). Reviving a blade is already an almost impossible event. It'd seem a reasonable assumption it would have to happen slowly, to gradually acclimate the spren to "living", as a person can't just boom say 3 ideals in one go. Kaladin only got away with it because he said 1. Then again I'm unhappy with Adolin been punished at all as I think he did the right thing morally, ethically, plotwise, characterwise and ehh, alethi law is crap anyway, who cares for it . I also hate double standards. Shallan and Jasnah have done much worse and they get lauded for it. Of course our personal preferences mean not everyone will ever be happy .
  11. Could just be 4m in most floors, with some floors having 100m height. Wouldn't be hard to imagine Windrunners and Skybreakers would have a floor to train/play.
  12. I hope anyone other than Elhokar has it.
  13. Doing the second murder to flush out the first murderer really doesn't convince me. Say, what if Shallan had killed Sadeas. He was going to be a threat to the KR, she is a KR. Motive. Would she bat an eye at the investigation? Nope. The one thing that I'm becoming more convinced is, I'll be shocked if the reasoning/plot of whoever did the murder works. The only thing that this is showing is how it could be good or bad for nearly everyone depending on how its spun. And far too much randomness is involved in that, as well as the control and abilities of too many people. Then again...maybe its just us 17th Shard at it again .
  14. There are several secret societies (Ghostbloods, Diagram, Skybreakers if you want to add them) who would completely ignore the Shardblade too. Of course in theory all those societies are secret, so everyone may assume all will want a Shardblade. I'm actually considering more seriously Team Sadeas would have considered Kaladin did it. KR have a bad rep, they don't know his order or Oaths very well (or at all), he doesn't like dead Shardblades, and he flew off after Sadeas was killed. Oh yeah, and he hates/d him. This actually lowers the chances Ialai did the second murder. If Kaladin did it, he is away, so investigation wouldn't affect him, and everyone would assume him innocent after the second murder happened. Who doesn't love a good mystery .
  15. Same topic, different thread. Great analysis by first poster. Would be great if mods could merge these two. @Chaos
  16. So, continuing your WoT analogy, the Bondsmiths would be the women and the other 9 orders the men? That sounds interesting, but if it is the case I suspect there would be some hard limits very fast. Otherwise it would be insanely powerful. What I'd be curious to know if it were true, is who would be in control of the "link" and whether Bondsmiths could do it against someone's will.
  17. I don't think Ialai did it. But if she did...damnation thats a cold-hearted witch, less than 3 days since her husband died and already scheming and plotting.
  18. Not bad reasoning. But 1 can be ignored as they could have used Oathbringer to scrape the mark. In any case, pinning the murder on Adolin is not the same as shaking him up. As he would only act strangely if he did it.
  19. Thats also good option. As most people would assume the murder of a highprince would be the main focus of the investigation. But if thats their reasoning they really fell into a pit considering who is in charge of the investigation. Fun times. Adolin is in a good position to hide any possible evidence he left behind though, if he left any. Hmm, also realized a good alternative he could tell the truth to, to get help is Bridge 4, at least the ones he is close to. They hated Sadeas as much if not more than him.
  20. I always find it curious that Shallan is more advanced than Kaladin but he has greater control over his abilities and Surges. Shallan is still quite limited in Transformation.
  21. I know Shallan has been said to be at 4th level (1 above Kaladin who is at 3rd level) but what was the third truth? Killed father, killed mother, and? Pattern is the Sword and she destroyed her family should be included in killed mother.
  22. Quite possible. I doubt there is any obsessive fan that hasn't thought at least once our main heroes may end up been the substitute Heralds in some kind of form . The upper levels fit into that quite nicely.
  23. This ^^. Shaking up the murderer with repeated copycats would only affect them if they had a conscience to begin with. Some like Mraize would smile and say, how fun. The only way the theory "copycats are done to shake up Adolin" is if the person doing it is over 90% sure it was Adolin. Most assasins, and people sending assasins (imagine Jasnah), wouldn't give a chull's worth whether someone was imitating them. Reason why Adolin may be so hard to catch (if he can keep his cool, which is a big if) is that he is at the bottom of people you suspect to assasinate. Demanding a duel, screaming accross a hall, thats what you expect from him. Not stabbing blade to eye, then hiding his involvement.
  24. Whether that is how they used to do it or not, currently it seems they are called Surgebinders, and switch to Knight Radiants when they earn their Shardblade.
  25. No, lighteyes eyes are already light, so a Nahel bond doesn't change them. WoB on this. Maybe the masters of WoBs can find it...
