  1. Maybe, although some like Iyatil are not likely to have a public face. She may refuse to take off mask due to cultural reasons. Maybe Mraize's public face is just as a powerful crime boss, important enough to dabble around powerful lighteyes. Considering Shallan and Adolin were 1h late, and it was just meant to be Adolin that means...no clue ^^. GB are just hard to predict.
  2. I think we've strayed a bit, thats why the confusion. I disagree with you that Mraize is immediately going to destroy Shallan. I think he will either be neutral or trying to help her at this stage. Maybe pressuring her a bit, but not making a full negative move. On the rest (Ialai calling in a favor or something similar) I kind of agree with you.
  3. Nowhere, I'm just making my beliefs and position clear .
  4. Connections maybe, but not full affiliation, and probably not full knowledge of what the GB are/do either. Or any other society.
  5. I'm not going to be convinced Ialai and Sadeas were part of any society until I see definitive undeniable on-screen proof. Ialai and Sadeas are/were just too self-centered, too greedy, and too controlling to ever become a part of anything that they weren't personally leading (since Gavilar died). Much less to have any greater goals other than their own wealth and prestige. Also, they always considered Dalinar to be their main rival. If they had been aware of the societies running around Roshar they would have likely acted differently. Either not so much tunnel vision on Dalinar, or more plays to gain allies or power.
  6. I don't see why the GB will give two hoots that Adolin killed Sadeas. If they are getting involved it is likely to take advantage of the power vacuum Adolin accidentally created.
  7. Words of Radiance. I really doubt Mraize would do a 180 from this conversation to now. He wants Shallan, and he thinks Shallan and Veil can be the same person and be loyal to the KR and the GB in each persona without having opposing goals.
  8. Ohh, here is another crackpot theory. Amaram made a play with Ialai for highprince. Mraize moved in to counter that, either openly or more subtly He just happened to be there, and Ialai asked him to stick around till after her meeting with Adolin I admit that the idea that these four met by accident when it was just meant to be Adolin and Ialai is hilarious . Albeit unlikely.
  9. Shallan would likely laugh at Ialai's face. A KR (and might I remind only current person other than Renarin who can operate Oathgate in Urithiru) is not going to go down without strong proof. And even then, not sure anyone could do much to punish a KR. They are a bit necesary with the Desolation running around, and unlike the other kingdoms the Alethi have fought the Voidbringers already. They may fear the KR, but doubt anyone will try to kill one for the next couple of months. After some more KR appear, maybe.
  10. Mraize is likely on top of Ialai. Its doubtful Ialai knows his full significance. It does however seem doubtful Mraize will take a full stance against the Kholins, at least not yet. He did offer for Shallan to be the KR and for Veil to be the GB, saying those things weren't necesarily opposites. Considering Shallan hasn't given an answer yet, I doubt Mraize would go against his words at the end of WoR, and force Shallan's two personas against each other. At the moment everyone knows if pressed Shallan will pick the Radiants. Of course, just because Mraize may not (yet) take a full stance against the Kholins and by extension Shallan, doesn't mean he can't apply a bit of pressure.
  11. Whatever Honor meant with the unite them I'm 90% sure Dalinar is doing it wrong. It will most likely be either the Roshar races, or the KR. The kingdoms are likely an afterthought.
  12. I agree Mraize will not be easy to kill. But Shallan with enough stormlight is probably quite dangerous. For one thing she can be as ruthless as Mraize when she is protecting those she cares about. Honestly, not sure who would kill who in those circumstances. But suspect it could go either way. I suspect that while the GB are insanely powerful a great deal of their power comes from always having the person in front of them with their backs to the wall. Lets be honest, they had been trying to kill Jasnah for a while, and didn't suceed. Their closest success was through offshore assasins. So far the GB's biggest weapons seem to be: ruthlessness and information
  13. The Ialai-Mraize vs. Adolin-Shallan confrontation is going to be tough. But if Adolin had gone on his own without Shallan I would have been much more worried. Shallan adds a lot of variables and dangers, but also may give him a chance to get out of there with some skin left. On his own he'd probably drown. Same goes for Shallan, having Adolin with her might give her a slight shield from Mraize. I suspect Ialai is a strong player, but also not part of any ss (secret society). Not yet at least, she and Sadeas were likely too independent/proud to be part of something greater than their own greed. I also think if it weren't for Mraize having Shallan's brothers she would have no qualms over killing them both there and then. Then again, so nice to point out they don't have a drop of stormlight left. The biggest question I'm left with, is why was Mraize originally there. As Adolin's decision to take Shallan with him was apparently a bit impromptu. Veil hadn't given them an answer yet, she may still join them. Alienating her now (by drowning her fiance) would not be a good move...yet. At the same time helping her could also be somewhat premature. Sigh, GB are just too hard to predict when we know nothing of their goals. When you know what someone wants you can speculate, without knowing that we are in the dark.
  14. Nice admission that they were a bunch of ruffians. Hmm, I wish this was a sign some parsh-people will go their own way. But its doubtful, they are runaway slaves with no-one to turn to. A bossy spren will seem better than a return to slavery. Something tells me Kaladin's radiant status will be revealed soon to these parsh-people. Maybe next chapter Tsk, nothing says I care about you like letting a lady steal your light! I'm moving more and more firmly into position believing Shallan will love Adolin more for his lie when he discovers it. Interesting ending. With how little we know of the Ghostbloods there are...too many options. He is there to manouver one of his people into highprince position. He is there to make trouble for Kholins and Shallan. He is there to topple Ialai for his own reasons. He is there to use Sadeas princedom to gain whatever he wanted from Urithiru. He is there to put pressure on Shallan. Also interesting on the chapter name.
  15. For once I'd rather have a Shallan chapter over a Kaladin one. Shallan is going to unexpected places, doing unthought of things. Kaladin is being quite predictable (if you keep in mind the amazon blurb). On the Ghostbloods...they may be scary and have a lot of influence, but right now Shallan has more than enough power to stand against them by herself. Renarin probably hasn't told anyone he has made a blade, as with the stormlight shortage there won't be so much Oathgate traffic, leaving Shallan as the only one that can bring people to Urithiru. Even without that she is one of the 4 known KR. Shallan could probably go to the center of the city and declaim the Ghostbloods for killing Jasnah, or anything else she wanted to and they would likely not move a finger...for now. Of course doesn't mean they can't toy with her .
  16. This would be so much easier for me if they moved it to 00.01. Then wake up, read, read shard, work all day. With this time its, wake up, watch time, watch time, watch time, read, read shard, day gone.
  17. I hope the highstorms come soon. SA archive doesn't feel like SA without highstorms.
  18. Gotcha. Maybe Bondsmith and Elsecaller could work, but I'm not sure how much unity could be achieved through logic. Eventually you need emotions for that. Even the Diagram which is supposed to be ultra logical wasn't just created without outside interference. And technically Gavilar didn't have any association to the Diagram, as the Diagram was born after he died.
  19. We should get more information on that on OB. Also suspect the sleepless might not have been destroyed, as much as relocated to pretend to be destroyed.
  20. I know, I should have clarified more there. There was a city on the SP, but it was the only one fully abandoned that we know of (other than Aimia, and the problems there are different). Even the shattering of the plains by itself doesn't seem like enough to completely abandon a city, even a ruined one. Humans are very resilient.
  21. Looking at the outline, is it possible that Adolin didn't appear as TC in part one because it was either added afterwards or always in a subchapter? He doesn't have a full chapter to himself so far, just half or quarter of a chapter. Good for readers, but maybe doesn't appear on colored chart. I'm guessing Szeth, Eshonai and Adolin are TC1, TC2 and TC4. Moash either novelette one or two, or TC3.
  22. Hihihi, gotcha Calderis, I was a bit lazy to search up that thread. So basically, my current theory is based off two of your theories . That one and the one on this thread.
  23. Not necesarily. Urithiru might have been set up in this fashion, but the KR didn't all live there. Many were set up in Alethela, and yet others were likely anywhere in the Silver Kingdoms keeping an eye out. The skybreakers could have been forced to keep the peace everywhere else, with Urithiru been the center of peace (albeit forced peace).
  24. My current favorite theory is: 9 heralds walked away Desolation ended Odium destroyed Taln after maybe 2000 or 3000 years, he saw Roshar going in a downward spiral without Desolations, Odium decided to play a long con he kept Taln with him to wait to attack at his leisure Which is a mix of what you say and previous theory. I'm still 50:50 on whether Taln might have turned to Odium and is the ultimate Troyan horse.
