  1. Ok, and what oaths did he swear?
  2. The raw power is 200 for a 4th oath radiant plus 35 for a seeker. I will need to know which oaths he had sworn and what caused him to be broken. As to his weakness, deaf in his left ear is worth 15 points. 5 points for the too trusting. The moral compass will depend on what the compass tells him to do. Which guild is he a part of? Is he part of a guild? If he's not than the last bit isn't worth anything.
  3. Ok, I like that idea for innates. As for fuel, I don’t care about the crystals. But I would like it if it weren’t possible for people to monopolize it. Maybe all crystals are filled slowly, overtime, wherever they are, and then the energy is expended quickly in one burst.
  4. Mac popped his head in, with his bowler hat singed and suit wrinkly. "Sorry about this, but we are moving this lab to be next to alley 7+86i. The penguins jumped out of a storage closet down the alley a little and are now pushing forward with giant penguin mechs." He mumbled something about penguins causing more trouble than they were worth, then shut the door as a giant metal penguin flipper attempted to kick him. He warped the lab away before the kick connected.
  5. I feel like thats too much. Being able to see all active investiture is really different from just seeing parts of the spirit web. Maybe they can see all connection? So they would be able to tell when natural magic would be taking affect and when something plainly natural would be happening. Like they could tell if the magical forest is due to a high concentration of investiture in the area, the result of ritual magic messing with things, or the fact that people believe that the forest is magical.
  6. How high would you rate it if it were an epic power? I would call it 50 if in order to change types of ammo he had to change magazines and reload as normal and for the grenades and nets the reloading took a bit longer.
  7. For that matter I wouldn’t have either.
  8. Yes, I believe so. I also agree with the summary.
  9. That's what I also think it should be able to do, but I think we disagree about how specific the changes can be. I think that the changes can be as specific as you want, but that the complexity of isolating the connections is incredibly difficult. True. Here's an idea. Everyone look at my character Maq ( I think thats the right one). He can see spirit webs. What if innate people can instinctively understand small aspects of spirit webs like Maq can and then transcribe that into symbols. Then people can use that as a crutch and understand it easier, but the complexity is still an inhibitor for the really advanced stuff.
  10. It depends on what you stole from ice. If you stole ice's heat, then the object would be as cold as ice. If you stole the identity of being a frozen chunk of water, then it would have 2 confllicting identities. Spirit web manipulation is a complex thing. If in the RP we want this to be a large part of the magic, then there will need to have been groups studying this for millennia. The complexity of this is a natural limit.
  11. Sorry, I phrased that wrong. What I was saying was that the spell could be the method for changing the spirit web to achieve a desired affect. So a spell to make a rock hot would be placed on the rock. Then it would change the rock to match the desired affect. Does that make sense?
  12. Note that spiritual genes are all connection. And conservation of investiture matters, so if you stole the spiritual gene for hot from a person and put it on a rock, then you would get a rock thats body temp.
  13. This is what I was describing when I suggested it earlier. Sorry if it wasn't communicated well. Basically what Xinoehp said. IMO An enchantment should be putting a spell on an object that can be used repeatedly. How this is done is changing the spiritweb to accommodate the spell.
  14. Xin was saying something about it not making ritual magic have enough limits. I personally would like to keep enchanting and alchemy under ritual magic, and it seems like other people would to. But we should finalize that before we continue. Yeah. But like I said above, keeping souldworking, enchanting and alchemy under ritual is my prefered course of action.
  15. That is what we have. Here's another suggestion for innate magic. This one ties into the enchanting aspect that is no longer a part of ritual magic. Each innate magic user has a focus, something that they are connected to. They can affect the spiritual aspect of objects in relation to that focus. The closer it is to that focus, the easier it is. So If my focus was fire, I could turn a candle into a flaming candle without very few issues. Making it a flaming candle that isn't consumed would be more difficult, and making it a candle that lit of fire after a spoken command would be even more difficult. Making the candle wet would be impossible. The more difficult the command, the more energy I would use trying to do it.
  16. Mack looked up, from his small feast. "Mmph-mmph," He paused a moment to swallow. "No, its not my first time, but they always bring the best cookies to the parties, so I make sure to eat a lot of them." He quickly shoved another cookie into his mouth as if he was afraid they would disappear.
  17. Because following this could set a precedent for how different threads interact with each other, we decided to wait until everyone on the team can weigh in. We will look at it over the course of the next few days and get back to you soon. RP according to what nohadon suggested until we get back to you with an official ruling.
  18. Mack walked in, robes trailing behind him. "I just heard about your return, I am so happy that you are back, truly." He gave a slight bow, then hurried over to the acolytes setting up the chocolate and peanut butter cookies, "May I?" He asked as he grabbed one. The acolyte nodded and Mack took a bite. His eyes closing in ecstasy. He grabbed a napkin and started filling it with cookies while the acolyte waited patiently. It was a normal reaction to someone eating one of the cookies.
  19. Nearly resolved, still a few loose ends that need to be wrapped up but for the most part everything is good.
  20. Ark PM'ed me and voidus about which characters he would like to cut. Its all sorted out.
  21. I agree with Voidus in that there is a certain amount of trust that needs to be had between players. That they won't take your backstory and characters family and murder them just because there isn't a rule against it. In addition, you are allowed to respond to a NPC being treated unrealistically. In the above example, its perfectly realistic to assume that Bob would see the sword coming and dodge it. Or, if they were a steelpusher, push away from it. Or if they were a gold compounder, just taking the hit. Objecting to unfair/unrealistic treatment of NPC's is good and allowed. You can Retcon things if they are unrealistic. Like a gold compounder not tapping their goldminds after they got hit, or not a person not countering. In extreme cases mods will have to make a ruling, but not most of the time. If there is uncertainty about whether a situation is realistic or not, I would suggest contacting a mod. That is part of the reason we are here after all.
  22. I would also add that it is far better to provide too much details instead of providing too little and it will help expedite your character approval process. In addition to minimizing the amount of back and forth that needs to be done, it can help the mods get to your application faster. If I know that someone routinely makes OP characters and needs to be negotiated down via a long conversation, I'm going to put off approving that character until I have a lot of time. On the other hand, someone who is willing to make edits to their character and will provide a surplus of details to minimize the amount of back and forth that needs to be done is much more easy to work with on these sorts of things, and thus it will take a lot less time to approve their character and allow me to do it when I may not have as much time.
  23. Technically you are both wrong, they use faster than lightspeed communication, but sub lightspeed travel.
