Speaking of culture and countries, are we going for a lot of tiny city states? Big empires? Lots of similar cultures? Lots of variety? We could always produce a couple of maps and vote on them. If we download the map files as a .map we can come back and edit them later. I would say ideally if we could, it would be nice to have a large central continent, and then have parts of it near water. But I don't really care.

I shared it with my shard email so that I would be able access it from google drive.

I could certainly think of a few cool magical places that have both humans and non humans. @ZincAboutIt have you looked at the map generator? I realized that its a pretty powerful tool. We can very quickly design this world, with a few elements of randomness as well. We just need to specify a few settings. If you have a moment glance through this link. https://github.com/Azgaar/Fantasy-Map-Generator/wiki/Quick-Start-Tutorial

If you are busy IRL don't sacrifice that for shard time. As much as I hate to admit it, IRL is more important than the shard.

Oof, yeah I missed that bit. I have combed through all the wobs about bronze and the coppermind article as well but haven't found anything giving a range for allomancy. I would think that like Voidus said for a Savant it would be about the size of a suburb, but I will try to get my hands on copies of a mistborn book to check it out. I will note the most if not all of bronze mistings become savants eventually. Its not as difficult as pewter or as changing as tin. So It can't be a huge range.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley

Sure. I did forget to include a weakness with Mak. Regardless of power level I think that weaknesses should still be a rule in this setting. They make the character interesting, providing some limits. EDIT: If anyone is interested in helping with the academy curriculum please say so. I want to figure out what the people would be able to do after they got a given degree.
-
Yeah that makes sense. It should work.

Sorry missed your question. I added AJ to the list, but I have no idea how to rank your new character. I would give it a 50 for the bronze (35 for the base metal, +15 for the savantism which is the equivalent of perfect lifesense and a little extra). I have no idea how to rank the nightwatcher power. I will think about it over the next little bit and either edit my post with something or post a new thing about the night watcher thing.

I would suggest giving them a few skills. Or more than a few.

Im not sure. My general idea for the academy is that its not like a high school, with 5 classes a day all day. Over the course of the 10 year general magic, you would take maybe 40 courses. About 4 a year. Each class would meet once or twice a week for a couple or a few hours. A lot of the work would be outside of class, a lot of practice and repetition/experimenting. Writing spells is a very common assignment, and those things would take a long time. So an accelerated degree is very easy to learn. The only thing you are missing is practice and fluidity with the writing.

Will need @Voidus to rank the Epic power, but I can say that the no fighting will be about a 45 point weakness. Usually I would rate that as a -55, but the capacity to make traps makes it worth -45.

Yeah the point of the duel was lopen vs nohadon, but because nohadon took a while to show up lopen tried to assault my island.

Mak Here is some information on the academy: The times for degrees are changeable for the magic school, but generally I think they should be pretty long. Also, Mak is not necessarily a needed character, but I would like to play him if possible. I made him mostly for a little bit of world building.

Fits the DA's style. @ZincAboutIt does it run well on your computer? Its really slow on mine. Also, what kind of scale are we thinking for the stories? Like, LoTR scale? WoT scale? Or more elantris scale? What I mean by that is physical distance. Are we doing a giant cross continent story? Or more of a big city or two, maybe a small country. The reason im asking is because it will affect how we play it. Characters need to be realistic, so if we want a big cross continent story we will need some more powerful people, wheras if we are aiming for smaller stuff we can use smaller levels. We don't need to keep the same power level as the main RP, this was one of my favorite things btw, we could have whatever power level we wanted. EDIT: In terms of character creation how do we want to go about this? We could do an index, or we could do a more organic form where we just write character sheets and get things approved by the community. I trust this group of people to be able to do that and not break the story if they wanted.

I think that logically, killing people via belief has to work. Because even in the positive changes people have internal investiture, and they know that they are just normal people. However I think I have a workaround. The idea is that if you are 'killed' this way, your spiritweb becomes infused with investiture and your CS stays around in the CR. This way you would be removed from the picture, but you could still come back with a little help from the DA. I would like to ask is there any specific stuff we wanted to iron out for the culture? And how will the guilds fit into this, have they been around forever are they just moving in? Are they religions/schools of thought about magic or groups that have political power? Are they actually guilds? What are we planning with that? EDIT: Here is an online map generator if we want to make a map of the place: https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/ EDIT 2: Just saw zincs map nvm.

I also tend to prefer more organic plot developement. Because we have a smaller group I think that a more organic developement could work well. If we plan anything, I would suggest planning only the big meeting points and letting the rest of it be more organic.
-
I think that we should plan for a larger plot, but should give a little time with smaller one shots to allow people to get into the world.

I do want some thing involving a magic school. And I would like to be teaching there

You can make a sixth character, and post the bios, but the actual approval will have to wait until benson dies. I won’t add it to the list until benson is off the list. Also I can’t put AJ on the list for another hour or two, sorry. Still post the bio tho

Yes, I would say that you are good with counting the gun as 50 points. @Clyde Coggins ok
-
Correct. I forgot about the seeker. Though I suppose that that is the easiest thing to cut out of the character.
-
So I would subtract 5 for the first oath. The second oath, I would subtract 20 for, assuming a reasonable definition of justice. The third oath I would subtract 10 for, because it’s not that much more restrictive than the second oath. The fourth oath is another 10 points. Not extremely restrictive considering that that’s part of the GB rules. And that a good ghostblood would do this normally. Thats 65 points of weakness in total. Can you describe his moral compass and how restrictive it is? You still need 35 points of weakness for the character to be allowed.
