  1. Thorstein glanced around, making sure that nobody was listening, the started to talk. "Ideally, I would prefer to pay with coin first, because enchanted objects tend to be extremely attention grabbing, but I am a master enchanter. I have a number of tools in my wagon that are enchanted with the usual durability and sharpness enchantments, as well as being able to shrink in size for easy storage. In addition, if you give me time I should be able to enchant Items around here for you should you need it."
  2. "That part I'm not too sure about. I have a lot of valuable stuff, but not much of it in coin. You see, I am probably embarking on an adventure soon. And the past ones I've been on have taken anywhere from days to decades." He reached into his pocket pulling out the money he had gotten from the census a day ago. "How long would the money from the census get me?" He paused for a moment, thinking, then hesitantly continued. "And if that's not enough could I barter with a few... items? Don't worry, they aren't illegal, but quite valuable, and I would prefer it if their existence wasn't well known."
  3. He grinned conspiratorially. "Not a word about the bacon. But I'm not actually here for food. I noticed that you had a stable out back, and I was wondering if I could store a wagon in it. You see, I have a brother in town, but he lives right by the academy. And I would prefer it if my stuff wasn't around a whole bunch of learning ritualists. Could I rent some storage space from you? Potentially long term?"
  4. Did we ever sort out the time skip? Is it officially morning?
  5. Thorstein waved goodbye to the man and continued packing his stuff up. "Everyone's the hero of their own story." He muttered. When he was done packing things up he went to the tavern that the sayer man had gone off to. Something was important about that fellow. Thorstein wasn't exactly sure what, but that guy could very well be the hero of the story. He walked in, looked around at the tired customers, nodded to the waiters, and moved to sit down next to aldred, then decided better of it. He walked over to Liezl and began talking with her quietly in the corner.
  6. Ahhh, I remember. That was one of my better deaths. Never expected to see them again though. "I was not toying with you, I was writing the story." Seeing the confused look on Algorath's face he tried to explain. "I was the guide, the old wizard of the party. And every good story with an old wizard in it has the old wizard die. Their death is needed to propel the hero's forward to accomplish their goal. So you see, I needed to die for you to succeed. But I don't like dying. Death is a weirdo and I don't want to see him again. So I fake my death. The Hero's can succeed, I can tell a really good story, and everyone goes home happily." He paused, concerned, "but I've never met a hero again after I died. So I don't know how that will turn out. Hopefully it doesn't upset the balance of things too much. But yeah, the guides death inspires the hero's, and makes for one heck of a story. So even if my death didn't inspire you, in about 50 years when I start telling this story, it will draw crowds like no other."
  7. It would depend on what you were planning to do with it. Generally it's a good idea to make sure that the topic will have some activity on it before posting it so that we dont wnd up with spam.
  8. Thorstein stood up from where he was packing up when a man approached him. "Excuse me sir, but didn't you die?" Thorsteins eyes widened. Definitely an adventure happening. "Well, I don't think so. Because I am very much alive. But my death has been faked numerous times for a number of reasons. You will have to be specific."
  9. I would like one more small weakness on the first character, their weaknesses sum up to about 20 and there needs to be 25 points. The second character is fine.
  10. I think that we should tag @Voidus for this one, because he has a special system he uses for epics.
  11. Btw, something I forgot to add onto thorsteins character sheet is his love of stories. He has been in quite a few of them over the years, with different names, and quite enjoys it. But he is sick of being the old wizard who dies.
  12. Oh dear. Another adventure, I can feel it in my bones. "The story has to be original, and however unlikely it may seem, this is not the first time I've run into a herd of talking animals." Then the man went over there and calmed them down. Now that, that was original. Another adventure. For sure. Thorstein sat back in his chair, wise enough to not get involved. He had lived long enough to have experienced most of the stories that people told, and they all were based in more truth than people thought. There was always a good side and a bad side, and the hero always lived, albeit with some serious trauma, and the world was always saved. One of the constants was that the old wizard dies. Unfortunately, if Thorstein got involved too early that could become his role again. And he hated dying. It was a pain in the neck to try and prove that you were alive for the 3rd time and that you faked your death for the sake of the story. Maybe if he stayed back he could be the warrior? He was a good hand with the axe. Maybe he could do the warrior thing this time. Or better yet, he could be the bard! The bard never died because they were the ones telling the story! Yes, that's what he would do. His face lit up in a grin. He already knew he was going to make it. Meanwhile a mime troop had an aneurysm because they couldn't tell if he broke the fourth wall or not. He refocused on the group, it looks like the guy, he called himself the Itinerant, had calmed everything down. He began packing things up, he didn't want to join in right away, but he also wanted to be apart of yet another story, and so he hurried.
  13. Consider it added and an actual character, I will probably get around to it later but it’s approved
  14. He saw the man smile, then the smile fade. “Another time,” he said, “will you be here tomorrow?” Thorstein frowned, “Sadly not, I am meeting my brother tomorrow, but how about this.” He thought for a little. It was probably the money. People could never buy toys, they weren’t a necessity. You don’t trade necessities for non necessities. But what could he give this man that was a necessity? You didn’t need anything beyond food water and a room. Wait, he could give him a room. He started talking, mostly to himself. “Ok, you just came through the gate, so are probably a traveler. Do you have a place to sleep yet? I can get you a room for a quarter of the price if you tell me a good story. Yes, that should work." Then speaking louder, he made his offer. "So, if you tell me a story, I can get you a cheap room, then you can buy the marbles you want! What do you say?” Thorstein leaned forward excitedly.
  15. Thorstein looked up as a man wearing the worn robes of the orthodoxy approached him. "How's business?" He asked. Thorstein leaned back in his chair. "Good enough," He replied, "Not many people looking to buy tools, or toys for that matter. But business is good enough. Would you like to purchase something? I have more stuff in my truck."
  16. Generally they were, but extremely experienced enchanters can edit spirit webs. Thorstein, over hundreds of years, invented a way to get enchanted objects to do things when certain words are said. So he can have a horse and shrink it down, or weapons and grow them in size. But due to the complexity of editing spirit webs, this was the only original thing that he had done over 700 years. In order to make things shrink, he takes the size of a smaller object and places it on a different object, then only makes that apply after he says certain words.
  17. Thorstein sat on his covered wagon as his horse wheeled it into the Market place. Today he was a merchant. He stopped the horse and unshackled the wagon, blocking the wheels then leaving it be while he took care of the horse. He brought the horse close and whispered a few words into its ear. Suddenly, the horse shrunk down to the size of a mouse. Thorstein grinned and picked up the horse and placed inside of its little box in the wagon. He fed it a little hay and then moved to set up the rest of the wagon. He moved around carefully, so as not to bump anything. He decided that he would sell tools and toys today, weapons could wait till later. Grabbing a miniature table, and two tiny boxes labeled "Þorsdagr - leikföng" and "Þorsdagr - verkfæri", he walked outside and placed them on the ground as people started to walk into the square. He muttered a few words, growing the table to full size. Then he reached into boxes and pulled out miniature enchanted tools and toys. With a few words he grew them to full size and set them up on his table. For the adults, he had most types of farming implements and construction items, these generally had the enchantments of more durability, and being sharper. For the kids he only had the basic puzzles, wooden blocks, marbles. But these toys were much more fun once you started to play with them. The marbles would light up, the pictures on the blocks move, and the puzzles change every time. Of course no one had to know that when they bought them, if they did he would need to charge higher prices which would push most of these out of the price range of normal people. He pulled out a chair and a sign and sat back, waiting for people to show up. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. It didn't really matter to him. He pulled a knife from his belt and a small block of wood then started to whittle. Maybe something would come out of it.
  18. I don't think so. To put it in cosmere terms, the natural magic is based around the cognitive aspect and perception. Not the spiritual aspect. To imitate the affects of the belief you would need to edit the spiritual aspect.
  19. I would note that I don't have the exact traits that would need to be changed, but I imagine that I could be possible. You would need to emulate aspects of natural creations I believe.
  20. Sorry, I don't think that this would be natural godhood if that makes sense. Essentaily what it would do is it would take pieces from a bunch of natural creatures, allowing a body that could hold magic, and manipulate it, a crap ton of energy, and a few other things. Once the proper combination is put together, it effectively makes you a god, but not via the natural way. You would be a god in the way the Ruin is, you have a crap ton of power.
  21. There had to be something for the DA to do in this world. . Wait until I figure out the combination needed for god cookies. Imagine a cookie, that once you eat it, you literally ascend until it leaves your system.
  22. This is a lousy character sheet, but I don't have time for anything big. And he's an NPC.
  23. Changing the future would likely be the aspect of the spirit-web that chromium changes, the destiny part. In addition, it would be things that you could change via the spirit web. So I don't think that mind altering enchantments would work. I vetoed it earlier due to the scientific knowledge required to deliberately alter your mind. This wouldn't be similar. It would be like enchanting a cookie to minimize a persons connection to bad events in their past. Or enchanting a cookie to make a person burst into flame without hurting them self every time someone said a specific word. Just the usual enchantments that other things could have. Saying that the cookie makes you happier was a poor choice of words. The idea would be that the cookie temporarily alters some aspect of your spiritweb to change something. This could be anything from making your fingernails as sharp as swords, making you think fast, etc.
