  1. I have a feeling she just touched and moved the cognitive aspect of the statue. The physical aspect remained where it was the whole time.
  2. It's not 2D, it's just that planets are flat expanses dotted with similar geographical features, instead of spheres. All these expanses then connect together.
  3. It is confirmed that Nale is holding his honorblade.
  4. @Jondesu. That is a fair point, and one that I considered. However, there's one other detail you're missing which would argue against dead sprenblade + radiant: the radiant's spren. Some of the sapient spren we have seen are fairly disgusted, or at least disturbed, by the dead sprenblades. I think it fairly likely that if someone bonded to a spren took possession of a dead sprenblade, then the spren would quickly and constantly ask them to get rid of it, like the Stormfather did. Failing that, I wouldn't be surprised if the spren left. We don't know if the spren feels an effect from the dead sprenblade as well, but I wouldn't be surprised. Also, a more tenuous point might be that the nahel bond reject the bond of the sprenblade, like how Dalinar instantly unbounded his sprenblade without needed the normal action.
  5. Yes. Any manifestation of investiture can be powered by any type of investiture. At its root, all types of investiture are the same, and at their roots, all manifestations of investiture just require investiture to function. However, they default to accepting and using a specific type, which in allomancy's case is Preservation's power filtered through metal. In theory however, you could hack allomancy and power it using something, such as a feruchemical charge. Presumably this hack would also include manipulating the investiture and allomancy so that the appropriate power is produced, without using a metal to filter the power into the appropriate power. For example, allomancy regularly is like buying a game digitally. You pay the price and download the game then play it. Hacking allomancy and powering it with a feruchemical charge is like buying a physical game online. You pay the price, then you wait for the game to arrive. When it does, you realize you don't have a disk-drive on your computer, so you go out and get out. Then you have to install it, download the drivers. Finally you get to install the game and download it. The net result of both paths is the same. You have a game, and you can play it. The effort and cost is marginally higher, but perhaps you're afforded a bit more flexibility, such as if you lived in a place with no internet.
  6. No, he's talking about using the feruchemical charge to fuel allomancy, which is theoretically possible as any magic system can be fueled by any type of investiture.
  7. He had, and was using, a dead sprenblade. It seems very hard to reconcile any of the previous experiences radiants have had with dead sprenblade with the idea that a radiant would voluntarily wield one instead of something else.
  8. Presumable Brandon has, but it hasn't been explicitly stated. Probably the next closest is Khriss' small blurb about combining powers in the Ars Arcanum of Shadows of Self or Bands of Mourning. However, since you seem to be attacking so hard, I'll clarify and correct myself. "Technical definition" was an incorrect term to use I guess, since it implies a precision which we have not been given. However, under what is generally understood to be the canon definition of the term resonances, it does not encompass nuances in how the powers are used, but rather an external effect which can indirectly affect the usage of the powers.
  9. Indeed. No one has said that each order binds a surge the same way as the adjacent order. However, what we're saying is that that difference is not part of the technical definition of resonance generally accepted canon definition of the term resonance. Edit: Fixing terminology because implications on precision
  10. Not necessarily. Lightweaving can create sounds.
  11. Don't forget two important things. One, 4500 years have passed since the Heralds walked away from the Oathpact. Nale could've changed how he viewed the world significantly since then. Two, he is operating under some lost of sanity which, in my opinion, has developed during those 4500 years, and which is the main reason to his absolute devotion to the letter of the law. We don't know when he retrieved his Honorblade though do we? He could've taken it back recently, after Ishar had told him that Radiants coming back were dangerous and that only with guidance could a Desolation be prevented.
  12. Yeah, I can't find anything about that so I might've just seen it in a theory. I feel like it was a WoB though. Modified the phrasing of that comment appropriately. Edit: Someone else says the WoB sounds familiar so I'll keep digging for it.
  13. There's also this: I feel like there was something else I've seen regarding it, but I can't find it.
  14. Annotations are interesting. I found them worth reading. Also, here's the back of Alloy of Law: I think this is the first time I saw Scadrial, though I didn't recognize it at first.
  15. All resonances from a pair of powers are similar, but not identical. Another Lightweaver would have a memory ability like Shallan's, but it wouldn't necessarily be the same. For example, I think you could have a Lightweaver who is extremely good at memorizing sounds. Editing this to opinion unless I can find a source.
  16. You are, of course, 100% correct. However, everything you have just described lies entirely outside the scope of the statement I was addressing, as well as my answer. I'm well aware of the fact that any manifestation of investiture can be fueled by any investiture. The statement and answer however, was addressing the actual storing of allomantic power obtained from burning into metalminds.
  17. There are WoBs, but the back cover of Alloy of Law references Scadrial.
  18. His shards weren't glowing though. I suppose he could've figured out a way to repress the glow.
  19. Rithmatist isn't Cosmere. Edit: Probably not. See this WoB.
  20. Only some shards have numbers. That's a good thought though.
  21. Indeed, which brings us back to the crux of the problem, as increasing your allomantic power increases your burn rate as well as investiture per volume burned ratio.
  22. Nicrosil stores the ability to perform allomancy, not the investiture obtained from burning. He steals some vials of metal from the allomancers of the Set and swallows them to burn. No feruchemical power is known to be able to do what you describe.
  23. Don't be so serious. Lighten up and chew on some cremlings for a change.
  24. How did you manage to quote from my quote and attribute it to me?
