  1. By the end of the weekend Brandon is probably going to start getting the RAFO card ready when I step up.
  2. Kaladin stabbed Szeth in the shoulder during their fight and he didnt look hurt because the strike didn't go deep enough.
  3. You storming traitor.
  4. The investiture of the Well of Ascension likely made him unaging while he held it. The is also strongly suggested by the bodies of Ati and Leras; neither showed the changes that the passage of millennia would show normally on humans. Once it was used up, the unaging stopped persisting, as the trace remnants of investiture on his expanded mind, body, and soul were not enough to maintain that effect. Overall, it seems to be a quality of holding large amounts of investiture, with some forms producing an unaging effect more easily possibly. That, or it is more that the 5th heightening involves more investiture in the body than the threshold of stormlight held.
  5. I'm planning on attending with a list of complicated questions. You buy the tickets on the As Astra site under registration? Where are the brunch tickets?
  6. Over a long period of time, an awakened object will eventually run out of breaths.
  7. The connections to Preservation keeps them around longer. Kelsier might've stayed around longer because of being slightly invested due to burning metals a long time, and those changed his spiritweb on the way to savantism, but baseline mistborn isn't all that different.
  8. Be careful when stating theories as fact. We don't know when the Honorblades were made. By the actions of the Heralds, it also seemed to connect them to the Oathpact. In any case, it appears to be that connection doesn't invest an entity. For instance, mistborns with their connection to Preservation aren't more invested than regular Scadrians by default, only when they're burning metals.
  9. Why isn't "Khriss brought the gun from Taldain" an option considering there are guns on Taldain when she was on it in White Sand? Baon in her entourage was even carrying one at that point.
  10. The Honorblades were also a direct conduit to Honor's power, so I suppose that could count as an additional power. I'm not very on-board though with the idea that they are more invested however.
  11. This was discussed in another topic. Personally I think bandolier was used in a more broad definition for a belt from shoulder to hip to carry things.
  12. It's cutting molecular bonds.
  13. By default the majority of a spren's investiture is not in the physical realm, likely in the cognitive realm and spiritual. I think it follows then that when they materialize as a physical blade, they're only converting the required amount of investiture to matter to form the blade, and then endowing it with the required amount of investiture to create the effect. They're still maintaining a strong baseline of investiture outside of the physical in order to maintain their sapience, and since that's possible, I see no reason to think that they're compressing more investiture into smaller sized objects, when it could just be withdrawn.
  14. A small point. Red eyes do not mean Odium.
  15. According to Vorinism voidbinding can see the future, which is not the same thing as is actually able to, considering what we know about Vorinism's past and the seeing the future. It's entirely possible they decided to attribute future sight to voidbinding as a reason for it to be considered evil following the Hierocracy.
  16. This is the Cosmere Theories sub-forum.
  17. @BlackYeti Thanks for the corrections. Was that from the bonus anniversary section?
  18. So Hoid has been dropping some nice pearls of wisdom at the end of each Stormlight Archive book to date, with the WoB that he'll have another monologue in Oathbringer. I've decided to make a small post of the essence of each one, dubbing the list "Hoid's Ten Commandments," with the hope that by the end of SA we'll have ten. Currently have it in English and High Imperial. It would be really cool if someone could make Women Script versions as well. Hoid's Ten Commandments (English) Thou shall value timeliness above all else. (The Way of Kings) Thou shall find God within thy hearts. (Words of Radiance) (Oathbringer) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) Wasing Commanding the Ten of Hoid (Scandrian High Imperial) Ising needing of time the first. (The Way of Kings) Ising with heart the finding of God. (Words of Radiance) (Oathbringer) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown) (Unknown)
  19. Someone told me that the Edgedancer hardcover will include Lift's interlude from WoR.
  20. Interesting theory. For the actual topic, I don't really see many similarities between Marasi and Vin at all.
  21. Sel's focus is more believed to be symbols, not topology.
  22. Yes, but there still exists the premise that people think they know how the boon/bane system works. It may not be explicit, but chances are that most people posting have an opinion on how it works.
  23. Szeth trained with other Honorblades. Chances are fairly good that others of the Stone Shamanate are trained in surgebinding and other martial arts.
