  2. Read. I prefer setting my own pace, have my own mental voice and drowning the world with my thoughts. I mean audiobook could all do that but with much more difficulty(especially setting my own pace)
  3. Granted. The world is now a happy place, everybody has somehow fulfilled their dreams etc etc. And from the shadows Ruin enters the world without opposition. Well at least everybody has been happy at some point before meeting their END. I wish for a coin.
  4. Sazedium and Harmoniun doesn't sound right to my ears no matter how many times i listen to it. So i'll just call it ettmetal(if that was really Harmony's metal) till the end of cosmere regardless of how people call it lol Atium and Lerasium has a weight to it. Even Raysium sounds good.
  5. I compared him to starscream because i can't think of others villain(at the time of writing the comment about him) as close to what i am trying to compare. Obviously there are clear differences between them but you should get the gist of what i'm trying to compare. To each to his own. You can continue to think that Taravangian is still great but i think what personally what made him fascinating as a villain is already over. He's just another Odium's goons to me now Also Sanderson written characters to a direction i didn't expect but i still liked it. This is one of the disappointments i found as a reader. I suppose that can happen since Sanderson already killed the notable human antagonists(except Mr. T and Moash). Btw regarding Ishy from WoT
  6. Granted, first a grilled pair of bread pops out in the midair then suddenly the bread parts as ALL CHEESE IN THE WORLD is summoned there. I wish for Syl to bond me.
  7. He started as a character who seemingly kind-hearted ruler in the surface into a complex scheming character who manipulates alot of things from the shadow. Then he turned into Odium henchman renouncing his own "claim for control" (i don't have other words that fits what i mean). Basically he went from cool to pathetic even tho he had alot of room to work with(i could see him surrendering to Odium he just did it too soon(even tho it should make sense since Szeth is there to reveal the problems) ). He's similar to starscream now when he was originally a really frightening/crafty figure in the dark. Now that i think about it even Amaram(anti-climactic conclusion) and Odium( the most dangerous of the 16 isn't that great apparently .. he lost his horror factor) has been disappointing since Oathbringer. (in contrast i liked how Moash turned out) His character progression in Oathbringer just disappointed me. Well Odium and Amaram disappointed me as well but this is not a oathbringer complain thread so not gonna expand about that.
  8. Well i thought he was interesting before he joined Odium. That's why i wanted him dead he was really intriguing on his own doing what he believed was right, well he has somebody dictating him now which isn't as interesting as before. Anything he does will make it seem like Odium was doing it, no longer his own initiative. Fairly good way to kill a characters potential IMO. His uncloaking from the shadows removed alot of potential absolute chaos in the future too.
  9. I haven't played in a long while (i do watch twitch streams of pro-games or just individual streamers tho). Maybe this weekend i'll play DOTA and Overwatch again (it's the only games i play nowadays)
  10. Kill Mr. T please oh i want that dude out of the game so bad. He isn't interesting adversary anymore, he's just like another cartoony sniveling starscream type of villain.
  11. Yeah like @Valhalla quoted Sanderson kinda dissuaded that idea down with that WoB which he doesn't usually do. You don't also need a overall "Dark One" to have a better story and it doesn't fit to the theme of Cosmere stories so far. I think the shards are the greatest scale of power already in cosmere. Rarely in fiction has "greater scale enemy" done multiple times has ever worked out. Usually it just makes the story really cheap. Cosmere has been about everything can be good or bad(no absolutes) depending on the situation and execution of a certain ideal (Sanderson has specifically showcased this through religion, or pragmatism(Rashek, Amaram etc ) or even as simply concepts as death etc etc ). There are no absolute good or bad. If you added a "anti-adonalsium" it kinda turns the everything from gray into black and white again which doesn't make sesnse. Cosmere has stayed away from the classic absolute good vs evil like LOTR and WOT did. Totally possible. After all somebody with equal power/influence could manipulate one another(Ruin did got played by Preservation, well Preservation did got played by Ruin in some sense as well. ). I bet some of the most sneaky/schemy vessels in cosmere has done it before or is still doing it by setting up events that would put their rival/enemy shard in a comprising position. It just depends if the shard being manipulated cannot see through the subterfuge or the shard doing the manipulation is subtle and crafty enough for it. They are similar in a way that leave destruction in their wake and they're morally ambiguous as hell. However their motives/goal couldn't be more different. Odium wants to be the only shard basically rule the world(or cosmere in this matter) while Ruin wants to reduce everything to a state of entropic equilibrium aka obliterate everything. So yeah one wants to just eliminate competitions and rule while the other just wants to bring everything to an end. No major enemy. I presume it's gonna be all about the shards and the nature of the cosmere that it is all about. I think the passion is really just relevant to some shards and not others. For example since Ruin doesn't just represent death alone but also the aspect of change. So to him it makes sense that he would revel on passion since passion usually leads to change(in other cases death as well). Passivity brings no joy for him as it doesn't bring events that represent him which are change and death. It think it's really just about the ideal itself. That simply nothing exciting.
  12. It's not worth it tbh. One of the best selling points of Mistborn franchise was how the Mistborn Era 1 Trilogy was concluded. Imo it's actually better than Stormlight(despite it being the best-written stuff Sanderson has) in terms of how well-structured the plot is, the mystery/conspiracy and how tight it turned out to be. The moment you started Era 2 you basically lost the real selling point of Mistborn franchise. Since you are spoiled in all that happens of Era 1 in like first 50 pages or something without the careful pacing/climactic effects/foreshadowing you could've experienced it. It's pretty big deal. I'd say the culmination of Mistborn Trilogy is still so far the best thing that Sanderson has made IMO.
  13. Sadeas Odium Amaram Dilaf Bluefingers Iadon Denth Tonk Fah Mraize Ialai Moash Nale Malata Rashek Straff Venture Zane Miles Paalm Edwarn Lewishi Tyn Yomen Aesudan Ahan Graves Kabsal Roshone KanPaar Kar Ruthar Tanalan Telrii Quellion Eliminated Jewels. She's one of the only few girls in the list that doesn't seem to be so bloodthirsty or remotely close to reasonable. DOUBLE ELIMINATION: Who would you want to be couple from the list of baddies ?
  14. @Inklingspren Absolutely. They're both unlikable and serves Odium. What's the need for more evidence when it's so obvious ? Theory: Syl is a voidspren.
  15. Beldre Vivenna Eliminated Susebron. He seems like a charismatic figure enough. He has the noble training too for posturing and looking regal so it shouldn't be hard. Who is the best girl ?
  16. I'd disagree about the first one if you are really competitive or wanted to play standard you'll throw in money alot. But yeah magic is pretty versatile and generally great. Haven't played magic in years but i have very fond memories of that game. I still have my cards around too.
  17. Yeah i agree with this theory. I really dislike the concept of nicrosil hacking the system tbh. It makes fullborn very accessible(which has been the most broken set of powers you can in cosmere so far) i know there are still difficulties such as where to get nicrosil feruchemy/allomancy and probably skill needed for it's usage (considering none of the southerners made a medallion on the same amount of abilities the bands had) but still being a fullborn was what made Rashek(or Marsh as well to some extent) special and in the hands of the right people is it really hard? And it's weird to think IF Sazed was consciously(assuming he was) diluting the chances of producing mistborn/feruchemist/fullborn to allow such thing as nicrosil to be known. (ok this one i'm not entirely sure if Sazed really did go that direction to remove chances of new crazies popping out from being a fullborn)
  18. Moash is a pretty interesting character but that doesn't mean we can't hate him. He's one of the love to hate him types Kelsier seems to be setup as the rival of his pet-character(Hoid) so he should live awhile.
  19. Ah my bad i glossed over the "Adolin and his sword". Guess that implies the Adolin is Radiant angle going on but still the way worded his answers by talking "so lets talk around the spoilers" could also mean that he's making an example of another person instead of Adolin regarding the well-adjusted etc etc. cause it seems really weird to me that he'd still say that it's spoiler-territory and he'd still spill it. I mean Sanderson has sometimes answered questions that aren't really about the exact context target. Like this one about Harmony/Odium
  20. I'm gonna be the bummer and ask. Just for clarification that i understood the WoB well. Did Sanderson mean Adolin on the " I would call extremely psychologically well-adjusted, that by the end of the third book is well on the way to Knighthood" or did that mean just mean Lopen ? I mean Lopen didn't have a traumatic past and is quite well-adjusted. Kaladin considered himself a Knight Radiant at his 3rd words(by literally shouting "THE KNIGHTS RADIANT HAVE RETURNED") but not before that(tho that could just mean Kaladin stopped hiding his nature rather than officially a radiant). And in Jasnah's words(none-verbatim) "you can be a surgebinder but that doesn't mean you are a Knight Radiant" or something like that to Shallan at some point. So could it mean Lopen instead ? It kinda fits Lopen as well. He's a windrunner but i wouldn't be surprised somebody who's knowledgeable about KR's wouldn't call him Knight Radiant yet just surgebinder or squire
  21. Asmodean was well-liked ? I literally did not care what happened to him. I guess i did root for him since i wanted an example that a person who turned to the DO can still go back to the light (Stormlight Archives redemption style) It's a slog on perrin's part. I did like reading about the rest tho
  22. Interesting i always thought that voidbinding is simply another version of surgebinding (which also lead me to believe that what the fused used was really voidbinding like there is a difference between the surge of gravitation of the fused and the flying radiants) and what the fused used is essentially that. Sanderson doesn't seem to be the type to recreate a completely different magic system when there's an existing ones associated to the current setting. Like for example in Mistborn or maybe on WoT(i know Sanderson didn't create WoT just finished the last books or that it has no relation to cosmere but still the series has influence over him) I could be wrong tho that voidbinding is not the surgebinding that the fused used. But until said or showcased otherwise i think i'll assume that voidbinding was what we saw Odium's forces mostly used in Oathbringer. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  23. Proof: Rage ? Check. A noble ? Check. Love for a person he considers his daughter ? Check. Of course he is, the facts matches ! Theory: Aona is really the bigbad who sends her henchmen Odium to do her dirty works while she pretends to be dead.
  24. Didn't hate Amaram either but didn't like his turn-to-Odium development. I was liking where he was going even if he wasn't gonna be an ally really just this really hypocritical or tragic persona. Idk about others but this was kinda mild-issue for me since i didn't really care about Amaram for the most part and it showed us a fight sequence so i was "whatever" by it. I had more issues about other parts of Cosmere(mostly mistborn)
