  1. Both stormlight and gold feruchemy can heal shardblade hits. Obviously if you got hit in the head you can't heal if you are uhm dead or unable to heal, unless external means of healing is done to you ofc. What i mean is that whatever Hoid's means of healing whether it'd be stormlight/feruchemy/other is that the mechanics of healing in Cosmere overall works on the concept. It heals what you perceive as "damage" or "not part of you". Which is what i mean about "i don't think there could be more effective healing than that" since all healing basically work the same way. Besides i doubt Hoid doesn't have means to fill his gold metalmind if he's a user of gold healing since even Wayne manages to find store something. Hoid basically hacks cosmere.
  2. I know Hoid is somebody special but as far as i know gold healing is kinda healing the spiritual damage as well. So i don't think there could be more effective healing than that. So whatever hoid has that can heal spiritual damage as well is basically just another version of gold healing.
  3. Finished The Warded Man by Peter V. Brett (first book of the five books) it was mostly good actually. Kinda looking forward on it's sequels The concept where people had to lock up during the night and paint wards outside their homes cause there are literal demons who literally devours people was quite interesting. The concept was well-executed(first time i read a story like this) and the characters, details and the emotion about the society/courtship/people in the world where demons devour the living and they really can't do anything about it was quite fleshed out. Usually when reading fiction bad things happening to people, even the most horrible things are fine with me. So long as it's executed well, it has a significance in the story, it adds the horror levels of the story and it's dealt with properly. So here's the problem(BIG SPOILER AHEAD) In None-spoiler terms the aftermath damage of the horrible event that happened to one of the main characters didn't seem to have any effect at all later. It was as if the traumatic event wasn't actually traumatic cause she didn't act like one. That's just really a small problem in the book but everything else was mostly splendid.
  4. Yeah doesn't Hoid access to Feruchemy? It wouldn't be surprising if he has access to other means of healing(even if he doesn't have feruchemical gold) which most healing already heals spiritual damage.
  5. Yeah it was the inquisitor fight where the inquisitor used feruchemical speed i think but Vin managed to kill the Inquisitor before he got spiked.
  6. Elhokar was so annoying and a fool at the start but overtime he slowly grew into somebody who actually seems to try so hard but just isn't good enough in the time of crisis. Actually our true first glimpse about how manipulative Ruin was the fall of TLR and the final empire. Even Sazed on his epigraphs state has Zane was the catalyst for the annoying love triangle(i know it's about Vin "choice" more than romance but still annoying not an aspect i would want from the Mistborn when i was first reading) and Kelsier was just waaaay more interesting than him in terms of tortured characters who rose to change things.
  7. It would be weird if they didn't know about each others existence. Pretty sure Sazed and Marsh has been communicating for the past 300 years (even before Sazed becoming the HoA and Marsh just becoming an Inquisitor.. they were the only one who hung around with each other), i don't think Sazed would hide the fact that Kelsier is still around or Spook would even hide it (with Spook experimenting with Hemalurgy it might be possible that Marsh could've been a good help to him) Some relevant WoB
  8. Yeah i also support the Autonomy attacking Scadrial theory. Admittedly i started to think it was Odium tho (because various reasons) but Autonomy makes more sense.
  9. I thought they were looking for the pattern-spren that was supposed to bond with Elhokar but failed(cuz he ded). Since Hoid later went into the same area as the Fused breaking down the palace section and well he found the pattern-spren. But i'm not really sure could be wrong.
  10. He couldn't kill using Preservation's powers so he's definitely affected by it. So can Rashek but he's still holding preservation tho that shouldn't excuse a literal fullholder things he could do. The reasons are pretty weak that "she probably didn't bother" she was trying so hard to send messages, even Kelsier was doing as well. Unless what Rashek was doing was story inconsistency(talking directly to people) Why they didn't also whisper in the holes of hemalurgy? They literally were the closest that could. Maybe cause they couldn't I can accept that shards could whisper through the hemalurgic holes if Ruin wasn't contesting it's still holes in the soul after all but contesting ? We already have preservation's example for that who was basically the closest who could contest Ruin but couldn't. And the act of talking is literally just talking it's not against "Preservation".
  11. Always a good rule to assume that not everybody likes the same things with various reasons. It's just a matter of preference. I introduced Mistborn to my friends too and they didn't enjoy it as much as i would think.
  12. Elend was pretty whatever but Adolin was kinda likable from the start? Adolin never felt like a noble douche
  13. I highly doubt Preservation can't speak to somebody through intent-wise since it doesn't make sense as talking to somebody doesn't go against the "preservation". Talking doesn't go against it lol It also still doesn't explain why Rashek could talk to somebody using just some of the powers of preservation(if you don't remember it was when Rashek offered Kwaan immortality but refused it). I don't see why Rashek could but somebody holding the full shard couldn't. I'll just chalk this up as "plot reasons" but is another reason why it can't be intent reasons. If the holes created by Ruin are actually able to be exploited by "another shard" through filling the cracks then why couldn't Leras/Vin/Kelsier holding full of preservation exploit those holes when they are basically in the same place as Ruin is. So they have the biggest advantage in exploiting anything compared to all other shard who are basically outside. Preservation literally shares the planet with Ruin. Preservation has the biggest advantage over literally every shard out there (he literally has more investure inside each Scadrian than Ruin even compared to all other shards who has zero) And i don't mean exploiting the holes through "control" but just talking. Since it's just talking using the holes of the spikes after all. Why can't preservation ? If preservation can't i highly doubt another shard can actually compete with Ruin if he's actively influencing the spikes person unless there's some good explanation why Preservation couldn't talk on the hemalurgic constructs as well.
  14. I always expected some of the heralds going down permanently but didn't expect Jezrien to go down first. I expected him to have some interaction with Dalinar/Kaladin later on
  15. If that's really it why couldn't preservation talk to people through spikes? You may say that Ruin is the only one who can talk between the two but Rashek ascending managed to do that without completely holding the entire shard of Preservation. Then there's another case with Ruin preventing Vin from ascending or drawing preservation through a single spike. It doesn't sound completely out of intent why Preservation couldn't talk it's not like murdering. It's the case was truly that Ruin is only involved in the hemalurgic spiking that means the spike is made up of Preservation as well ? Would that mean that Preservation could totally contest the spikes ? Why couldn't he ? Preservation is basically a shard like Ruin no different from Odium/Honor/Endowment. Why could Ruin be the only one to influence in the holes through Hemalurgy when Rashek holding preservation can without it ? That's why i'm unconvinced on how much extent other shards could actually interfere with Ruin's control over spikes when Preservation couldn't(who was basically sharing the planet and actually has more investure inside Scadrials than Ruin does ). when you would think talking/inserting thoughts is much much easier than controlling people with spikes. Sure preservation would never control people but he WOULD talk to people if he could why can't he contest as well. And they were on basically the same place too with preservation fueling everything from the people's sapience to allomancy/feruchemy(ok Ruin has a share of this abit but just this) Why can't preservation can't talk through shard when equal with Ruin ? Does it just mean Ruin has more advantages to hemalurgically spiked constructs compared to other shards ?
  16. I suppose that makes sense but i don't really see how other shards take priority over somebody who is literally fueling the magic system. The trellium makes sense since it's literally another shards investure but even so Ruin had inherent advantage enough(the person making the magic system work) that Bleeder cannot have another foreign spike in her since Ruin still takes over. Then there's also the fact that even if the shards could not stop people from using their magic system(if the person has access to it) that doesn't mean they can't intervene which sounds like what another shard would be doing to Ruin. It still sounds so much like a surgebinder Odium directly controls or Honor controlling his fused.
  17. Isn't allomancy, feruchemy and nahel bond basically the same tho ? Fillling the cracks inside the spirit web but we don't see Ruin or Odium taking control over the holes of Radiants or Surgebinder but they have the right intent to just hijack people. I don't see how Odium or anybody with the right intent could take control of Hemalurgically spiked person with Ruin's investure inside him/her through spikes.
  18. Isn't this the right way to pick up a shard? With Sazed needed to accept death/change as a natural thing so that he could've picked up Ruin(which he had that mentality at the end of HoA). Vin was a bit weird since she was setup by Leras himself but she was apparently a natural as well. shrugs. I'd like to know about this one too but apparently shards have access to spiritual realm who has zero care about time/distance so maybe ?
  19. Who introduced who to follow cosmere ? Or when you two first met both already knew about cosmere ?
  20. Yeah it's like a setup between Kaladin/Szeth as before. Standard foreshadowing if not standard Sanderson foreshadowing. Besides Nale might possibly be the best surge of gravitation user existing(considering he's the only one of the two original surge of gravitation holder with the other one being an actual leader so he probably has more combat experience) which would be really fun to see. Szeth is interesting but i believe he probably did not see Nale's insanity. He just thought Dalinar is a worthy master(which he got a lucky roll there). It's pretty funny since Szeth is kinda insane himself or in Lift's words "CRAZYFACE".
  21. Granted however you're basically a low-level Sith now with zero skills for a Sith who is below the hierarchy of Sith under Palpatines rule. So good luck ! but hey at least you could spew cool red light now I wish to be able to access the cognitive world
  22. Was it really a dream ? Or maybe it now feels like a dream with Ruin's influencing you. xD
  23. Yeah but Ruin specifically can forcibly take over the control of the spiked creatures(he has done this before in HoA) tho. Hemalurgy works on basically the same concept as all magic system like filling the holes in the soul of a person but Ruin still fuels that magic system. He has utmost influence over it. Obviously Sazed isn't the type to interfere with such communicates given how Sazed is. Like how Odium has utmost control or ability to hijack those his spren bonded even tho him and Honor basically work under the same pattern of "filling the soul with power". It's probably also intent based too like Preservation/Honor and maybe Autonomy could not just take control of people(because even if the Shard could their intent doesn't allow the power) as Odium/Ruin without obstruction could.
  24. I think Kaladin and Vin together would just descend into madness. They don't seem to be a positive buffer to each other(both needed somebody as their morale compass which was Elend and Syl)
  25. Wait you are the friend he meant ? And you're both Cosmerenauts ? Like how do you know each other ? Now i'm just jealous I only have two people to talk about Sanderson and they didn't even finish Mistborn trilogy
