They compiled a short list of ten possible puns. They tested each to see if they could humiliate Butt, but no pun in ten did.- 111800 replies

You could ask for one from whoever's around, or if you DM me on discord (same username) I'll respond with an invite.
-
From the 17S discord get a link to the 17S D&D discord, and there's at least one channel that they're discussing MAG and maybe playing.

I always hear an existing song, but it's random besides that. It's partial to 80s, though.

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Elenion replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Good game, y'all! I think it was well-played on all sides, and had things gone a little differently at the end it might have ended with you all praising Jaddeth. I might not be able to do much more SE in the future, with work getting busy and me leaving for religious service in July, but if so then this will have been a great last game.- 1185 replies

I wouldn't quite put Elantris into PG, because of the cult sacrifice and maybe the hoed/gang violence in Elantris. Other than that, I agree with you. Mistborn and Warbreaker both have elements that require maturity as major conflicts.

The way I picture the whole "infinite but not infinite" thing with Adonalsium is with a fire hose attached to a tank of water. The tank of water is infinite, but the hose limits the flow rate. The water is Adonalsium's power, but Adonalisum could only access so much at one time. The Shards, they have less of a flow rate of power than Adonalsium, but they're still tapping into the infinite water tank.

I can't think of any scenes in particular that would be too violent/dark for children. Kal's arc takes some emotional maturity to connect with, but WoK is not as dark as Mistborn (the whole skaa rape debate and how Elend fits in). Really I think the limiting factor might be attention span.

In this case the apostrophe isn't marking a letter deletion, but telling the reader to make a slight pause at that point in the name. Or at least that's how I'm interpreting it.

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux

I'm a standard Arelish Priest. *Pyro Because Seonid was village, he must have been acting in what he believed to be our best interest. So for Seonid to claim what he did, the scan must have been changed. For the scan to be changed, that would require a secret role. For there to be a secret role, either Pyro or the GMs must be lying. The GMs cannot lie. Therefore, Pyro must be lying. It sounds like a stupid accusation to make, but I can't see it any other way. When I die and flip village, suddenly you'll have every reason to believe there is a secret role. It also makes sense for balance reasons: the village got 2 Priests and 2 Jindos (Wilson and DK protected her same cycle, and so there must have been a third Jindo the next cycle, and I doubt there are 2 evil Jindos). That's a lot of protection and scan power, plus the Korathi Pendants are unblockable scans and the Jeskeri Pendants are limited scans. A scan-changer could cause one of these links to misfire, and lessen trust in the village scanners in a game that could otherwise be dominated by follow-the-cops. Edit: I'm a Prince, not a Priest, lol. I must've had Priests on the brain when I wrote that.- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Elenion replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'd like to defend myself more, but I don't think I have much more to say. I've given a timeline of everything I did with the Pendant when I had it. But it's hard to shake off a false accusation when everyone just wants to follow the cop. Since no other lynch targets are materializing, I am resigning myself to my fate. If anyone has any questions for me before I go, I'll answer them.- 1185 replies

If I stay up far past everyone else, sometimes I will hear music that's not playing. I've literally gone to turn off the music in the family room after midnight, and found that it's not playing. If I sit and listen for a minute or two, I can tell that the music is not real, because it'll be playing in a loop, missing a beat, or something like that. But I'll still hear it, and so to go to sleep I'll turn on a fan or something that will drown it out.

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Elenion replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well it would have been Seonid, but he just had to up and die on us. The question was which player did I consider most cleared. If you were Jeskeri, they would have known Seonid was the Priest long before he claimed it in response to Steel. Plus I know Seonid scanned you, else he wouldn't have involved you in his plans.- 1185 replies

Steel never was converted; he started as the Gyorn. We know that the Odiv was created N1, N2, or N3. So we're looking for anyone who was converted N1 or N2.- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Elenion replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Droughtbringer Hero hinted heavily to me that the Elantrians had figured some stuff out that we hadn't. I'm not asking you for all of your secrets, but is there any way that an Elantrian Odiv could have converted outside of Elantris? If I can find the real Odiv, then I can clear myself. At the end of last cycle I was about to send a PM to a person I had been talking to for the entirety of the Night, but I got cut off by personal stuff and I don't want to reopen that PM just for this. To them: The answer to your question is Lopen. Well, "Pyro was taken by the Shaod" probably wouldn't have worked, because I don't think there is a Shaod anymore. @Herowannabe What effect will Pyro being poisoned have? Will he be able to post in-thread like an Elantrian, or will he be locked in the city and only have the abilities of a pre-restoration Elantrian?- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux

Let me go grab a few examples of games with secret roles. I skipped a few games before getting active again recently, so they might be older but I can already think of a few. Joe in particular is famous for games like that: In QF23 the GM was able to be targeted by the Marry action. Marrying the GM would cause you to be able to see parts of the elim doc. In MR20 the only eliminator was a Mistborn, a secret combination of all Allomantic roles. In MR17 a secret role called the Carved Red had an extra life and a vigilante kill, and won if he reduced the elims and village to something like 2 players each. In MR16 I picked up a secret role partway through the game that gave me a kill each cycle. MR16 hinted that there could be a secret role. MR20 Joe warned us that the distribution might be strange. QF23 and MR17 there was no warning beforehand that I'm aware of. In addition to these are games where it was said outright that there were secret roles, and there are more of these than I want to list.- 1185 replies

Long Game 44: Shadows of Elantris Redux
Elenion replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wilson can confirm she received the Pendant, and she still has it. Also, I couldn't have been made Odiv by that point, so why would I want to lie about that as a villager? And I'm not entirely sure that Seonid is guilty. I'm not getting the vibe of an elim trying to get a villager killed, I'm getting the vibe of a fellow villager who somehow got a bad scan result and is acting on it. Hence why I have a theory that there's a scan changer out there. We've seen a role like that before: in the MR I just barely won the Escaped Inmates had a player that could change what their target scanned as. Sure, it could be that he's just lying about what he saw, but it could also be that the scan was tampered with and so you'd end up lynching me as village and then Seonid as village. Hence why my defense is not "reasons why Seonid is guilty" but "reasons I have to be innocent".- 1185 replies

Elenion replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The thing is, it's not possible for me to be the Odiv. Seonid confirms I'm non-Convert, so if his alignment reading really was right then that would mean I was made the Odiv while I had the Pendant. Based on the convert tallies we know that N4 there was a double-converted Odiv out there with the ability to make a conversion, which could only be the case if the Odiv was made N3. (See this post of Devotary's). For the Odiv to be made the Odiv N3, the Pendant had to have been passed to them N2. But that's not possible: I passed the Pendant away N2! The earliest the Pendant could have been returned to me was N3, making the earliest I could have been made Odiv N4, making the earliest I could have made a conversion N5. But the Odiv made a conversion N4: one cycle earlier than I could have if I was the Odiv!- 1185 replies

Non-convert is right, but Derethi is wrong. Maybe my alignment was changed by a secret role. Maybe you're the Odiv and you're looking for a mislynch. I dunno. But something is very wrong and it's not my alignment.- 1185 replies
