  1. For school sports such as swimming, wrestling, track, etc., metalminds (Zinc, all of the physical ones, including Gold and Cadmium, and Chromium mostly, although others might be confiscated if someone managed to use them to cheat before.) would be confiscated, and there'd probably be a Leecher who drains any Allomancers. On the academic side of things, Mental Metalminds (Excluding Brass and including Electrum, because Brandon's un-retconnable mistake complicated things a bit.) would probably be allowed for minor assignments and tests, but confiscated for major tests...or not, as they would probably be viewed as perfectly okay. Aside from that...I personally think that a Steel/Zinc combination would be awesome for a messenger or freerunner (freeflier?), as they'd be able to calculate proper trajectory, speed, velocity, torque, etc., to fly through the air extremely quickly and efficiently. And I have an idea in my head for a kind of piano, with a lot of metal keys, with individual keyboards spread in a spherical arrangement, which someone could play with the use of Steelpushes. Steel/Tin pianists, anyone?
  2. Granted, but the power and effect of your ability will fluctuate from barely being able to lift a paperclip to flattening buildings. I wish for the ability to create ANYTHING.
  3. Granted, but you can NOT tap, only store Determination. I wish to have both Steel and Iron Allomancy naturally.
  4. I'd say, aside from Compounding, an extremely powerful Twinborn would be someone with Feruchemical Nicrosil and Allomantic Steel. They could get a sizable amount of Investiture stored up via burning Steel and funneling the Investiture into metalminds, which means their power is as deep as their pockets. Once they have enough Steel-Investiture to, say, accelerate a coin to about 3 times the speed of sound, they walk into a bank, pull out a coin, and aim at a bank teller's head. All that is seen is a line of light punching through the stone and metal of the building, the aforementioned bank teller completely painting the walls with gore, as the sonic boom from the coin's acceleration incapacitates anyone who would have resisted. Then they simply grab all of the money and Steelpush away. What are the police going to do against a human railgun?
  5. ...That sounds amazing. Like soccer, volleyball, and Quidditch rolled into one sport.
  6. ...how would that work? It seems like Legend of Korra gets referenced a lot when talking about the world of Scadrial. I understand that, it being similar, with the world gradually being shaped around a type of magic, and I see how a lot of ideas would work...but how would a competitive sport like this actually work?
  7. I just realized how useful certain Feruchemical abilities would be. With Cadmium, you could not have to breathe for short periods of time, which is useful underwater, in toxic gasses, etc. But, you could also highly oxygenate your blood, allowing you to do things like sprint for extended periods of time and sprint faster. Anyone heard of blood doping? It is banned in most, if not all, sporting events, and it is...artificially introducing extra oxygen to the bloodstream in order to improve performance. Sound familiar? With Duralumin, you could quickly make relationships by tapping, as well as reduce awareness of you by storing so that people are less likely to notice you, and even speak the language of the land you are currently in. There are a million other ideas flashing through my mind, but I won't list them here, because I don't want this to be an EXTREMELY long post to read. I have some other ideas for applications of most of the others which are unorthodox but plausible, but, as stated before, I will not put them here, as I do not want the people who read this to die of old age before finishing. Does anyone else have any ideas for possible ways Feruchemical abilities, or any of the Metallic Arts, could be used?
  8. Electrum is honestly amazing. If you could practice at differentiating and separating the Electrum Shadows into actual detectable paths rather than a whirling mass of incomprehensible images, you basically have limited precognition. Which would be VERY useful. You could never be surprised, you could avoid bullets before someone shoots, and there are a million other applications.
  9. I personally think that it has something to do with Connection. The metalminds have an identity aspect which codes who can use them, but I believe that they also have a connection to users of the specific power, such as Bloodmakers with Gold, in general. Storing this connection, using Duralumin, while storing an attribute allows anyone to use the metalmind in question, although it is still locked off by the previously mentioned identity aspect until that is removed via Aluminum. There may be holes in this hypothesis, and we won't know until later WoBs or later books reveal what exactly the process Southerners use to unseal metalminds is. Just my two clips on the matter of metalmnds.
  10. You aren't offending anyone. Neuroatypical behavior is just what it sounds like, a different way of thinking, and thus acting, involving different thought processes and logic than other people. Nothing more. Things like Aspergers, to me, are like having a different eye or hair color than most people. While it may seem strange to other people, it is normal for the person who has it, and really isn't a big deal at all. Yet people think it is, for some extremely strange reason.
  11. Um...why would a people who lived where the sea BOILED during Era 1 need artificial heating?
  12. It said that SOME Terris people were dark-skinned. Not most. SOME. There's a difference between the two measurements.
  13. Era 1, I'd probably choose Allomancy. Era 2, I'm gonna cheat and be a Twinborn. Double Steel FTW!!! Earth...same thing as Era 2.
  14. No, he couldn't have. He was already dead when he gained the knowledge, so he couldn't have used it. By the time he came back as the Sovereign, TLR was already dead.
  15. ...I think everyone misinterpreted the question. Note the "would be" part. This is asking what Silver would do if there were Silver Mistings, not Silver's actual nonexistent relation with allomancy. So it's meant for fun speculation. Perhaps it'd be a kind of Spatial metal, a compliment to the Temporal metals. Silver would be, being a pure metal, a Pulling metal. If it is external, then a "Collapser" Misting could burn it to essentially fold space, decreasing the distance between objects. Of course, since the folded space is still there, just folded like a piece of paper, any objects inside the fold would be unharmed. It's alloy, possibly Goloid, would expand space between objects.
  16. Really? I thought Hoid's purpose was both to show that the books are connected...and to provide a million tons of comedic comments.
  17. I've got an Idea. For energy production, a piece of metal, like a giant crank, could be hooked up to a turbine, and some Coinshots or Lurchers would be positioned on both sides of the crank, Pushing or Pulling on it to provide power. The Allomancer makes some extra cash from their effort, and power is created which then goes to electronic devices. Also, Brass metalminds could be used to fight fires. How? Storing enough heat would draw flames to you, as heat goes from high concentrations to low, and the heat would be absorbed and stored as it enters your body, putting out fire and simultaneously giving a large amount of heat to draw on. And Copperminds could possibly help treat amnesia.
  18. We have reached new levels of nerd. I, for one, am happy that there is an oasis of geek in this scholarly place.
  19. Hmm...well, I hate the taste of coffee, and energy drinks don't seem to affect me much...I thought bronzeminds would be better. It's not that ingenious. Just something I'd prefer to the alternatives. ... YES. BRANDON, GET ON THIS! ...Duralumin? Why would that be used? Unless they were somehow tapping a metalmind inside of someone with one of these medallions, it'd be useless in checking for internal metalminds. ...hmm...now that we're on the topic of school...any kind of sports club would have to check for the physical metals (both Allomantic and Feruchemical) because they would provide an advantage in most events. Steelminds or allomantic pewter for track; ironminds for gymnastics; Allomantic Iron/Steel for almost any kind of sport; Pewter, whether Allomantic or Feruchemical, for wrestling, and Tin could be used for a wide variety of things. Same with academically geared clubs and Mental Feruchemy.
  20. I know. This is truly amazing, isn't it? Things like this are what keep me on this site in the first place. People theorizing, taking these fantasy worlds and asking questions about the smallest things. Amazing.
