  1. I’m pretty sure he’s known since that time he ‘fought’ Moiraine. Kelsier BoM
  2. Havah is also a Hebrew word. It means “to be.” Brandon has said that Alethi is a Semitic language. The fact that some Semitic words overlap with Korean ones is likely coincidental.
  3. Propel sounds like another word for Aspire and Conserve/Remain for Endure... See my very similar theory above for comparison.
  4. Sixth of the Dusk. First is his sibling. The things I catch tend to involve Kelsier. Which means they usually aren’t little at all. Not a little one, but the first big catch I remember making was the Mist-Deepness connection. It was the scene where Vin is looking at stained glass and I realized the description of the Deepness was the same as the Mist. The other thing I figured out was that Rashek was the Lord Ruler, but I caught that almost as soon as Rashek was introduced. I also figured out the compounding trick as soon as Vin swallowed Saze’s metalmind. The small things I noticed turned out to be major foreshadowing, so I’ve decided not to put it here.
  5. Indications are that Breath of any sort is an exception to the usual Connection rule issues.
  6. I’d suspect humans domesticated them. Humans will domesticate anything, if given the opportunity.
  7. Kelsier doesn’t do laws, period. Oversight is a foreign concept to him. His nature is too autonomous to follow any rules but his own and he does not enforce those rules on others. All of this is antithetical to a Skybreaker. Wax would make an excellent Skybreaker. Adolin would like being a rioter. He’s use his abilities to riot the happiness of the people around him - like he already does.
  8. Mistborn Tarot: Eight of Spears The Eight of Spears displays the Lord Mistborn bound in chains, traditionally held to be tin or pewter. Ruin hovers behind him, whispering lies. This card symbolizes Negative Thoughts, Self-imposed Restriction, Imprisonment, and being Open to New Perspectives. This card’s origin dates to the Lord Mistborn’s deck. An identical card was found to be used in the Sovereign’s deck as well, and is often used as proof of close communication between the two.
  9. Exactly. But only in the way he was at the end of Secret History. Not herald level unstable.
  10. Kelsier nodded, smiling. “Sure. I needed to give Marie something anyway. Try and slip her a chocolate while we talk.” @AonEne @mathiau
  11. Kelsier smiled. “I think Drae needs some time to himself right now. He’s working a few things out. And you’re probably right about Ganache.” He fiddled with a piece of metal as he walked. The natural silver-grey tint to his hair grew more pronounced as he walked and the skin beneath the scars more translucent. Had anyone been able to see behind his dark glasses, they would have noticed the laugh lines growing more pronounced. The difference between a man in his early thirties and one nearing fifty.
  12. Kelsier tapped Connection, reaching out to Sage. “I think she’s asleep,” he told Zola. “Maybe pick someone else?”
  13. Since I created Kell, I’d say this allows her to see him when he’s not using his abilities. Hurting him requires special items/Hoid.
  14. Nope. I’m buying J&J cappuccinos. TPBM only really drinks J&Js on Pesach.
  15. I slept in a Venetian palace. Does that count? Otherwise, no. Although I did see the outside of Buckingham palace and saw the ruins of Masada. TPBM likes to travel.
  16. RoW spoilers: In case anyone was wondering: After he’s defeated, the players gain the ability to use him as a character. Although for mechanics purposes, I think it might be better if players can only use him as the Survivor, getting a different D ability. The last two especially get a little crazy, since I was designing him as a NPC boss, rather than a PC. Player D: Survivor. Kelsier can Survive one otherwise lethal attack, rapidly healing for up to a quarter of his total health. If this ability has not yet been used, it can be used to survive Martyr, in which case Kelsier receives the benefits of the ability.
  17. Per Brandon, TLR knew of the cross-world trade but wasn’t involved and didn’t care much.
  18. Mistborn Tarot: The Ascension The Ascension is the penultimate card in the Scadrian trump deck. The card shows Sazed kneeling between the bodies of Vin and Ati, taking up the powers of Ruin and Preservation as he Ascends to Harmony. Upright The Ascension represents Judgement, Rebirth, Inner Calling, Absolution. Reversed the card symbolizes Self-doubt, Inner Critic, Ignoring the Call. As with The Mists, this card retains its name from the Final Empire. Originally this card displayed the Lord Ruler stepping into a pool or pillar of light. Many Sliverist decks still retain this imagery, though it is uncommon elsewhere. Harmony’s Ascension, being rather dramatic, understandably supplanted the Lord Ruler’s earlier one. There are sixteen stars in the sky above Harmony (two of which are slightly cut off in this image). In this they symbolize the 16 metals. Harmony’s Copperminds separate from his arms as he absorbs the knowledge within. This is said to represent wisdom. Ruin and Preservation’s mist represents balance. The blues and greens of Harmony’s robes symbolize the New World he is about to create, while the orange is the anteverdant world of the past. The Ascension WIP:

  20. I recommend you finish the Cosmere, then read Dianna Wynne Jones. I am well aware. No interest in going at this moment. I hate cigarette smoke, have a daughter who can’t be near it and a husband who is allergic to the tobacco plant. It seemed everywhere I went there people were smoking. (I have other reasons for not wanting to move, but that was one of my older ones.) TPBM knows why so many Israelis smoke.
  21. Kelsier watched from the door, reclaiming his daughter’s hand. The door swung shut behind them, leaving the stunned looking cashier behind. Idly, Kelsier wondered if the man would realize that the ‘tin foil’ wrapping the chocolate was actually made of aluminum. ”Who next,” he asked Zola as they wandered down the street.
