  1. Of course, come SA5, it’s entirely possible that someone will tell Shallan that Thaidakar’s name is Kellsee-ay, and he’ll be referred to as such for the entire book. Thereby avoiding having his actual name printed at any point... Headcanon that may actually be accurate: Kelsier has a very French accent when speaking non-Scadrian languages. Which he actually speaks, since he needs to communicate with his people but can’t use connection tricks due to being trapped on Scadrial. He also speaks a very old upper class variant of the North Scadrian language, so comes off as horribly pretentious to people on Scadrial.
  2. I’ve been hearing that he’s retired. I hope not; he’s an amazing editor. So many little things that just make these books work are due to him.
  3. Brandon answered this: it’s because Kal was as close to the fourth as you could be without actually saying it.
  4. Returned follow different rules due to the nature of Endowment’s Investiture.
  5. The Spearhead in BoM was less Invested than a Shardblade, but very close to it (from what I recall). So if a Herald could soulcast that, then they could probably soulcast a Spren too. I think that’s beyond the capabilities of most soulcasters.
  6. Damon would make a better Wax. He strikes me as too serious. De Caprio I could see; Abagnale was similar character. I haven’t seen the others in anything so can’t say.
  7. He was still alive until she stabbed him...
  8. Returned work differently. So do Seons, but if the GBs could figure those out it would go a long way to solving their questions.
  9. This is my theory, yes. I think Enlightened Spren are the future of Roshar. And I think BAM will do something similar to Sja-Anat by Connecting to the deadeyes. Except that BAM’s version will actually be Corruption, as Odium will use the damage to take control of the Deadeyes.
  10. Interesting! Maybe you can put your full analysis up here eventually?
  11. The issue is that Jezrian’s is the missing line and we only see the lines connecting Nale to other Oathpact members. So the broken line can’t belong to either of them.
  12. “She embraced him, and he found himself weeping. The daughter he’d never had, the little child of the streets. Though she was still small, she’d outgrown him. And she loved him anyway. He held his daughter close against his own broken soul.” The text directly refers to Vin as Kelsier’s daughter. He considers her such, and she has acknowledged him as being a father to her. As far as I’m concerned that makes them father and daughter. (My niece is adopted, so I have a few opinions on the nature of such relationships.) I did note that though... Marsh.
  13. Yes! TPBM thinks Kelsier’s current arc is a: completely in character and b: hysterical.
  14. There’s a reason I keep wishing Ford was younger... I think Pratt could do it, He’s acted in dramas and he does have gravitas when he needs to. Star Lord’s character could have been really shallow, but he gave the role depth. He earned his star on the walk of fame. He’s also the perfect age - 41. Kell is 38 during TFE, so that works well.
  15. Yes! And yes, this was supposed to trick you. It IS what he would do.
  16. Nope! But you were supposed to guess that one! This character is a ruler. This character is not entirely sane. This character has significant influence. This character is a bastard. This character had a daughter. This character is immortal. This character falls somewhere on the utilitarian scale per WoB. In-universe, this character is rarely referred to by his given name. This character has utilized all three metallic arts. This character would approve of what I’ve done with these hints - and find it amusing. It’s the kind of thing he’d do, after all.
  17. So we can have this done before Shabbos: 9: This character has utilized all three metallic arts.
  18. Hiddleston is definitely better as Hoid. He has that enigmatic element to himself that lets him both blend in and stand out. He’s perfect for Hoid. But he doesn’t have that sense of overwhelming presence that Kell has. For Kelsier you need someone who will dominate the screen as soon as they step foot on it. If we’re sticking to the Marvel bunch, Chris Pratt. Star Lord’s character is honestly a lot closer to Kell’s. And Kell would totally walk in dancing to his own tune. For Marsh I’m going to the Distinguished Competition and picking Christian Bale. I think those two could play off each other well.
  19. The Imperial March. Especially the middle bit where the high, wild notes are almost fighting with the deep, regular beat, but somehow working together.
  20. Sad. And done. Acknowledgement (antonym: repudiate)
  21. How is attack a synonym for affect? Curious. Pain.
