    @Master OoklaJack Although I haven't read The Martian myself, I saw the movie and that had a notable amount of foul language. People who have read the book tell me it has a lot of strong cursing, more than the film.

    @Ookla the Elinox Here to break the trend: I actually think The Aeronaut's Windlass is Jim Butcher's best book yet, and I've read all the Codex Alera and Dresden Files.

    @Mason Wheeler Yeah, I asked permission before taking people's pictures too. I'll be putting up an album in the cosplay section of the gallery as soon as I can make the time.

    I actually think I just figured out what was going wrong. I was trying to upload the photos too early in the process, having not noticed the handy progress bar at the top. I was trying to add the pictures during part 1 instead of part 2. I should have the album up in a few minutes.

    Sooooo I have a bunch of photos of people's excellent cosplays from the Oathbringer midnight release party in Provo and would like to upload them to the cosplay section of the gallery as an album. I have not yet been successful. Every time I try to upload an image, I get this wonderfully vague error message: At first I figured it was probably due to overlarge file sizes, so I reduced the resolution of several of the photos to 72 dpi (standard image resolution for the web, right?) and tried again. Same problem. Every file I've tried to post is in JPG format, and file format was the only thing besides file size I could think of that might be causing problems, so I'm at a loss. Help please? PS: This is one of the reduced-size images I've been trying to upload to the gallery. Obviously it works fine here in a thread.

    Sooooo I have a bunch of photos of cosplayers from this event. Some I can identify as Sharders, and others I can't. Where would be a good place to post the pictures? I know we have a section of the art gallery for cosplay, but I'm not clear on whether that is only for Sharders to post pictures of themselves in cosplay, or if it would be all right for me to put photos of other people (including Sharders who are not me) there.

    @Prism Believe me, you're not alone in hating Umbridge. Literally everyone who has seen or read Harry Potter hates her with a fiery passion, including me.

    I find a lot of humor in Wayne's craziness most of the time, but every once in a while it gets to be a bit much.

    I tried to read the 5th Wave series by Rick Yancey, but the female lead (Cassie was her name, I think) was so irritating I couldn't stand to finish the trilogy. So wishy-washy and indecisive, and she was a real chull to her "friends." I stopped caring about the story because she was the center of it.

    About a quarter of the way done with The Empty Grave, book 5 in Jonathan Stroud's Lockwood & Co series. (I'm pretty sure it's also the final book.)

    @Ookla the Delightful Sorry you're stuck waiting on your copy of OB! That's pretty rotten. My pet peeve for today is the feeling of having an eyelash stuck next to my eye. Every time I go to brush it away or look in the mirror to locate it, there's nothing there! Agh.

    Last time I got a haircut, I went to sit in the salon chair and stepped on the footrest, and ended up tipping the chair almost completely over because it wasn't bolted to the floor. *Facepalm*

    @Ookla the Delightful Believe me, you are the last person I'd think of as begging for attention. You are such a strong person. I don't even know everything you've ever had to deal with, but storms, hearing about the crem you've had to endure and the fact that you just keep fighting and pushing through Hell--I hope if I ever have kids, especially daughters, that they have such unbreakable spirits as yours.
