@Mestiv Thanks! That trip really was the highlight of my week. It felt so good to be outdoors and mostly by myself in nature. And now, a few more pictures from Antelope Island! Burrowing Owl (1 photo): Somebody's very photogenic pet bulldog (2 photos): Coyote waaaaaay off in the distance (1 photo): Raven ( @AngelEy3 I think you'll want to see these 2 photos): -
Oh man. I cry easily at books and movies. I've even got a shelf on my GoodReads for "I cried" Here are a few off the top of my head: Movies: Coco Arrival Passengers Rogue One the animated short "Piper" that played before Finding Dory (not out of sadness, it was just TOO CUTE TO HANDLE) Books: In Harry Potter, the deaths of Dobby, Hedwig, Remus and Tonks, Fred, and Sirius the end of Alcatraz vs the Dark Talent All 3 Stormlight books so far have brought me to tears, usually in the climaxes. the end of HoA I Don't Want to Kill You and Nothing Left to Lose from Dan Wells's John Cleaver series

On Friday I spent pretty much the whole day at Antelope Island State Park (on Utah's Great Salt Lake) and had a totally awesome time. Found lots of fun birds and got some nice photos, and I saw a coyote! (Got photos of him too, but they're kinda terrible.) I took over 300 pictures, so I'm still sorting through them, but here are some of the nicer ones so far. =) Western Meadowlarks (3 photos): Great Horned Owl (2 photos): Assorted songbirds (3 photos): More photos later when I've made more progress on sorting them. -
Oh storms, @Quell, the Oxfordmoron is brilliant!

@Wyndlerunner It's mostly not; I just couldn't resist sharing that funny screenshot from Discord. XD

At first I misread this book title as "The Taco Wars."

@Sami oh my gosh. That is like the musician's version of "Wow, your photos are beautiful! You must have a really great camera!" Because the skill of the photographer/musician has nothing to do with it, apparently.

I don't think I have. In other news, I have new bird photos from the weekend Wood Duck (2 photos): Pacific Wren (2 photos):

The Shard is actually the first place I've ever used the name Sunbird. I wanted to do something different from usernames I'd had on other websites (e.g. MissVampire13, FantasyFan13, freegirl, Morningstar), but I didn't want to pick an obviously Sanderson-related name because I figured it would be too forgettable on a Brandon Sanderson fan site. Phoenixes have always been one of my favorite mythical creatures, so I chose Sunbird as kind of a roundabout way of referring to a phoenix. When I first joined, my profile picture was a phoenix too:

Oh man, I'm jealous! It's been almost a year since I've heard or seen a woodcock, since they don't live in Utah. Also, disclaimer: I did not create that video; I just found it on YouTube by searching "woodcock remix."
-
Hehehehe, glad you enjoyed it so much! American Woodcocks make that funny PEENT noise as part of their springtime courtship display. It's quite amusing to hear that coming out of the woods at dusk.

@Firerust That's wonderful!!! I am so happy for you, both for the drama competition and your upcoming dance! Have fun at prom! -
How to earn my undying hatred: Loiter next to my car in the grocery store parking lot, smoking a cigarette and forcing my asthmatic self to breathe the filthy cloud of noxious fumes while I attempt to get in the car as fast as humanly possible. I swear, some people have NO consideration for others.

You know you're a Sanderfan when you start grinning to yourself after spotting someone reading Edgedancer at the bus stop. -

Took a bunch of photos today (and got some really good ones too!), but I'm still in the process of sorting them, so here is a chicken for now (1 photo). -

Also, I have been working on memorizing Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven." So far I've got 10 out of the 18 stanzas down. -

Congrats on meeting Brandon and on getting your braces off! I had to wear braces for a year when I was younger, and I was sooooooo glad to get them off. I have only one bird photo to share today, a male House Finch whose head is orange instead of the usual red. Because red, orange, or yellow pigments in many birds' feathers are produced from components in their food, a different or unusual diet can result in different colors... such as orange or yellow House Finches. -

When someone in Discord says something about "The Rock cooking" and you immediately think they are talking about a certain Horneater, but they're actually talking about Dwayne Johnson.
