@Quiver That cloak would be awesome for a cosplay of Howl from Howl's Moving Castle!

How do you highlight your books?
Sunbird replied to RiyriaMistborn's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I just use the highlight feature on my Kindle. I don't mark physical copies of books, but if I didn't have the Kindle option I'd probably use colored sticky notes.- 5 replies

Pretty sure he did, if by "becoming a Windrunner" you mean swearing the Second Ideal. That was either before or during Bridge Four's charge towards the Tower to save Dalinar, and Kaladin killed a whole bunch of Parshendi (regular warform Parshendi, because there were no Fused yet at that point) during the Tower assault.

It finally came my turn to check out Ready Player One from my library's ebook catalogue, so I'm glad to see so many positive opinions of it in here. I haven't started it yet since there are a few other books I need to finish first, but it is high on my list of priorities!

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Sunbird replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Ok I know I'm double posting (my apologies to the mods), but it's been more than a week since the last activity in this thread and I have more good news! My internship with the publishing company is going AWESOME. This week I got to do some design work on a couple of book covers, which was a lot of fun. I also got some more bird photos since my last post! The day after I saw the little snowed-in owl in the photos above, I heard from a local birder friend that there was a neat woodpecker at his church building and went over to see it. The bird was super cooperative for photos, and it made me really happy. Barn Owl and Red-naped Sapsucker (3 photos): This past Saturday I went out birding again and just about froze my fingers off. It's a wonder I could work the camera at all! Didn't find anything super exciting, but I did get some nice pictures of a stray cat and a Northern Flicker (a type of woodpecker), plus a crowd of seagulls standing around on the ice of a frozen lake. Stray cat, Northern Flicker, and Ring-billed Gulls (3 photos): Mountain scenery from Saturday (3 photos): I also had some chance encounters with birds on campus this week. Cedar Waxwing, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Dark-eyed Junco, and Black-capped Chickadee (4 photos): -
Oh wow. Yesterday, January 27th, was my 2-year Shardiversary.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Sunbird replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
@Fifth of Daybreak My heart hurts for you. I'm so sorry that you have been dealing with this crap for months on end and being abused by management that doesn't care if their employees work themselves to death. You are absolutely right to get out, and I hope you find a job you can support yourself with and enjoy. I gave your post an upvote, but it's more an inadequate attempt at comfort than an actual expression of "I like this post." I don't like that post. It's awful what you've gone through. I hope getting out of that job will allow you to heal from the trauma it caused. *hugs* -
About halfway through John Scalzi's Lock In, which I picked up after enjoying my first taste of his work, The Dispatcher.

I'd be grumpy too, if I was getting snowed on during my nap! -
Welcome to the Shard, glad to have you! Any friend of Ripple's is a friend of mine.

How can Idrian royalty have Returned blood in them?
Sunbird replied to RachelZA's topic in Warbreaker
^ What Belzedar said. Many questions remain unanswered, but it's pretty much given that many of them will (eventually) be answered in the sequel to Warbreaker. Also can one of the mods relocate this topic to the Warbreaker subforum? @Kaymyth, @Mestiv? -
So will it just be you, me, and @Taliax? @RippleGylf and @Slowswift, were either of you guys available for Saturday?

Ha ha ha. Funny coincidence today... I was looking through my Facebook memories and found one from several years ago that mentioned I share a birthday with Edgar Allan Poe. And then I realized what shirt I was wearing today:

When you spend 20 minutes at work reading an article about bestselling Mormon authors just to see what it says about Brandon when you're supposed to be sorting the mail. -
Works for me! I can fit one person besides myself in my car if needed.

This is a MASTERPIECE.
