The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

Wow, @Cognizantastic, that's outstanding!! Congrats on scoring so well and I hope you get into the college program you want! -
Heh. How am I supposed to answer if I've already read Dragonsteel for free?
-
Bookmarks yes! If I don't mark my place in a book, then I have to waste time finding my spot again that I could've been using to actually read. I have so many bookmarks lying around in my house that finding one is never hard.
-
I chose "off" because I prefer paperbacks or Kindle editions to actually read. For me, hardcovers stay on the shelf and look pretty.

@Ammanas I don't think the redacted stuff is terribly spoiler-y for anyone who's read The Way of Kings. I mean, it's entirely possible that the redacted bits will become more significant later in the Cosmere, but for now, I--as someone who isn't privy to all Brandon's long-term plans for the Cosmere--only see elements of Roshar's magic system. Oh look, it's my 3000th post!

@Caesura @Delightful I would recommend talking to the neighbors first and only calling the cops if they continue the obnoxious behavior. Depending on the neighbors, calling the cops as a first resort rather than a last resort can create resentment, but the neighbors, if they're decent people, might be more receptive to your complaints and requests if you come to them first. -
@Ammanas I haven't read the Dragonsteel stuff that's been released online, so I'm not informed enough yet to comment on that. Do you have a link to it perchance?

I found an owl today! First time I've ever found one all on my own, without being told where to look. Great Horned Owl (3 photos):

Oh yay, someone who agrees with me on this! This month at BYU Cosmere Club I felt weird when someone said it like "GUY-orn."

BYU Library. I'm a student there and checked out the only circulating copy.

Funny story: My department at work had our Halloween party today, and my coworkers were all asking me for updates on the latest Sanderson news. XD -
As of approximately 10 minutes ago, I HAVE FINISHED DRAGONSTEEL.

Hey, all's I know is you were offering to help someone with their Calc homework in another thread or the Discord. Also, stuffing myself may result in a turducken. o.0

Of course not. You're allowed to like less widely-known stuff over more famous stuff. -

I think they tend to stay more on the southern side of the island, away from the visitor center and the causeway. On my previous visits, I stayed mostly on the northern end and saw no antelope. This time I drove down to the south end where the "historic ranch" is and saw a good number of them. (I also saw the bison closer than I ever had before.)

I have some new photos from a trip to Antelope Island yesterday! Mostly birbs but there is some other wildlife too. American Pipit (1 photo): White-crowned Sparrow (2 photos): Raven (1 photo): Bison (2 photos): Pronghorn antelope (2 photos):

When you say the phrase "only 800 pages" in reference to an epic fantasy novel. -
Cougareat. During the school year the JFSB is usually full of people studying.
