I lol'd at this. Well played Argent! Also, I agree with the rest of what Argent wrote.

@Gudbrand, @Gizmosowner Iirc, Brandon has stated that Mistborn era 2 (Wax and Wayne) takes place in the gap between the first half of the Stormlight Archive (books 1-5) and the back half (books 6-10). So, it is technically possible that Odium is (somehow) freed at the end of the first half and is involved in era 2. As far as I know, there is, currently, no official confirmation of said theory.

As far as I can recall, they do not really resolve this issue. It remains an unknown for the most part. Or, at least, I do not remember any resolution.
-
Wow. I never put that together for some reason. I am ashamed! Thanks for linking the wiki.

Are you referring to the captured Aimian among the Reshi? I am pretty sure that was not Axies. Iirc, Shallan's siblings are on their way to the Shattered Plains/Uruthiru so we might seem them during a viewpoint chapter. As to the OP, I think Axies, Rysn, Shalash, Taravangian, Lift, the Soulcaster, the Ardent reading the racy romance novel, Eshonai, and Venli will get Interludes. Perhaps one from the Shin though we might see Szeth there so they would not need one.

@TheDoomsday, welcome! While Brandon has stated the names of the ten (10) characters getting their own books in the Stormlight Archive we should always remember that everything is subject to change. Alloy of Law was supposed to be a stand-alone book but ended up being part of a four (4) book Wax and Wayne series. Brandon was firmly committed to releasing the Dragonsteel series after Warbreaker but ended up scraping that and doing the Stormlight Archive instead. And so on and so forth. I would not be surprised at all if the nature of the series changes as time goes on. Does that mean Adolin gets a book? Probably not. But could he? Sure. Or, what I think is more likely, he might get a novella similar to Lift's Edgedancer or he might even get a standalone book. Who knows?

Hmm, the moons are linked to the Desolations? It is possible I imagine but I am not sure what other evidence exists. My interpretation of that particular WoB is that the three moons, in decaying orbits, was a hint about the Shards and how they have been influencing/changing/meddling in the Roshar system. Those orbits are, most likely, artificial and therefore are a hint that an outside power is doing something. Just my guess on it.

Hello, I am the maker of the Artifice Wars
CaptainRyan replied to Brightlord M. Alhstrom's topic in Introduce Yourself!
Hello @Lord Maelstrom, Where might one find these "Artifice Wars" books? I just tried a quick Amazon search and came up empty. I am always on the look out for new material to devour! Cheers, CaptainRyan -
As others have said, the initial cost of Mistborn is a bit high; i.e. things move slowly at first. The pace of the final book really picks up towards the middle and then, of course, at the end during the "Brandon Avalanche". Book 2 and 3 are even slower, in my opinion, but the final pay out is easily worth it. Without trying to get your expectations too high, the ending of the trilogy is incredible and made this series one of my top fantasy series. I hope you stick with it!

Thanks for this. I edited the OP to reflect this information. Nice catch! Hmm, I was under the impression that once you achieved a sufficient amount of "soul stretching" you became immune forever - that only through conscious choice could you pass to the Beyond. I wonder if that is just my own head canon.

Hey 17th Shard, So far we have seen, on screen, three (3) Vessel's cognitive shadows (Leras, Ati, and Tanavast). We know of at least three (3) other shattered Shards (Devotion, Dominion, and Ambition) and it would be reasonable, I think, to assume that their cognitive shadows existed at some point after their Shattering. Special cases: 1. Leras: he did some wonky stuff with his "mind" to trap Ati. Also, I think Ati (Ruin) murdered the scattered remnants of Leras' cognitive shadow once released from the Well. 2. Tanavast: he seems to have merged his cognitive shadow with a massive spren (the Stormfather) and I am not sure I fully understand the implications of that. Caveats: 1. Devotion, Dominion: as far as I am aware, we do not know what happened to the cognitive shadows of these shards. It is possible they are still around though I am unaware of any evidence, even hints, that might support this conclusion. I would argue that without further WoBs or book reveals it would be safe to assume that Devotion and Dominion's cognitive shadows are gone, most likely murdered by Odium after he shattered them. EDIT: Arcanum Unbounded seems to make it clear that Odium forcibly Beyonded (it's a verb, right?) Dominion and Devotion's cognitive shadows. Thanks for the reminder on that! 2. Ambition: might exist because Odium was not around when Ambition finally bit the dust (right?). Obvious case: 1. Ati: he lasted in the cognitive realm just long enough for Kelsier to punch him, utter something cryptic, and then vanish to the Beyond. Why? Why didn't Ati stick around? Plot wise it would have been disastrous as he knows wayyyyy too much and would have ruined (pun intended) a lot of the plot of the Cosmere. But, ignoring that, what was the reason for Ati to vanish to the Beyond so quickly?

@Attila the Hutt Welcome to the 17th Shard and to the Cosmere! I, too, am a big sci-fi reader (check out "the Three-Body Problem" by Cixin Liu if you have not read it) but I think Brandon Sanderson has officially taken over as the most ambitious author I will ever read. 40+ books spanning thousands of years all with some sort of over-arching theme but yet each one unique and incredible in its own right. Just. Wow. Also, just a warning, there are a TON of spoilers for the different series/books in the forums so tread carefully.

I did not feel like it needed clarification. As I said in my post, everything I wrote is merely my own opinion on the topic. I wished you well in your theorizing.

4. Personally, and I realize this is entirely my own opinion and not some sort of solid fact, I do not really see any huge similarities between Vin and Marasi. In the same way that we saw someone recently comparing Kaladin and Peter Pan (of all fictional characters) in a recent Facebook poll, it is very easy to draw superficial connections between two characters and claim they are the same. E.g. Wax and Wayne are very similar to each other and are probably clones. Examples: both fight crime, both are strong warriors, both are twinborn, both have a rough sense of humor, both are from Northern Scadrial, both have used a large shotgun during battle, etc. So, in short, if you see connections between Vin and Marasi that lead you to believe there is something more going on then, by all means, have fun theorizing. I simply do not see it.

Going back to this quote notice how Brandon says on Roshar and not in Roshar. The former seems to imply the planet whereas the latter would imply the system. That definitely leaves open the small possibility that Brandon is leaving himself space to add another shard to the system. Thanks for being understanding.

To clarify, I am merely playing devil's advocate. While I would not be overly surprised if a fourth shard was lurking in the Rosharan system somewhere (Brandon being Brandon afterall), I am more on the side of only three exist in the system.

Tricky. Roshar refers to both the system (meaning there are only 3 shards in the system) and also to the planet (meaning there could be other shards in the system).

Unless we interpreted it as three shards (Honor, Cultivation, and the one on Ashyn) ruled but now Odium reigns. Not that I endorse this interpretation but the meaning is possibly there, eh?

@Dragon314 According to a web search I did: "Alcatraz sometimes uses some unconventional text formatting to communicate things. In book three, he starts adding random punctuation to words, then swapping vowels for the letter q, in order to underline his difficulty in the current situation." I then did a search of my Kindle copy for the word "punctuation" and found this in Chapter 14 of Book 3 - the Knights of Crystallia: (You know what, that's not nearly frustrating enough. I'm going to have to start adding in random punctuation marks too.) Alcatraz then starts writing some really weird stuff with random punctuation. I think this might be what you are looking for. Good luck!

It is tough to say as we do not get a ton of time with any of the Shards. Harmony is an obvious choice for me. Honor is another. So, as I dislike "favorite" questions on principle I will respond with two answers!

Another Hypothesis for the Recreance
CaptainRyan replied to Djarskublar's topic in Stormlight Archive
I do not have any reasoning to offer for the Recreance but one item of interest that might help the discussion is that the Diagram says: "Hold the secret that broke the Knights Radiant. You may need it to destroy the new orders when they return." Source It seems that whatever caused the Knights Radiant to fall the first time is, somehow, usable again. -
Brandon Sanderson Humble Book Bundle

@Argent I was just logging on to post about this but looks like you've got it covered! Well done sir, well done.
