  2. I picture Kaladin as Pikachu.
  3. Huh, I'll jump onto this. Lets hurt Sebarial and heal Nightwielder 2. Nightwielder - 5 3. Regalia - 5 4. Fortuity - 6 7. Obliteration - 8 8. Sourcefield - 5 9. Conflux - 5 11. 4. Yelig-Nar possessed her at Kholinar, but he (it?) appears again at Thaylen City and gives Amaram his new killer look. Yelig-Nar is said to consume his victims. While he failed to do so with Amaram, do we think he succeeded with Aesudan? Is she dead and gone now?
  5. I made one back in September Basically though, my personal cast looks a bit like this: Kaladin - Luke Pasqualino Shallan - Hailee Steinfeld Dalinar - Manu Bennet Adolin - Lucas Till Syl - Evanna Lynch Jasnah - Morena Baccarin Amaram - Ian Anthony Dale Sadeas - Chow Yun Fat Mraize - Pedro Pascal Elhokar - Steven Yeun Nale - Idris Elba Szeth - Aaron Paul Eshonai - Gwendoline Christie Venli - Natalie Dormer We might want to move at least one of the casting threads to OB section so that we can discuss casting for the characters who only appear in that book as well.
  6. Syl shouldn't be made out as hot or sexy just because she is a girl. That said, people can do fan-art as they wish. I have seen a lot of fan art, and it isn't rare that what I see fails to fit with my own view and image of the character.
  7. This is a good theory. I almost prefer this to the "Ambitions splinters sent the Letter" - theory, to be honest. I just wonder how the mechanics of Bavadin creating avatars all over the Cosmere would work.
  8. Personally, I hope Skyward is entertaining, but I do feel a little sad about the small amount of Cosmere we will get. If Brandon decides to do all three Skyward books in a row he´ll probably do short things in between though, just like he planned to with Apocalypse Guard. One of those could easily be Wandersail, which might result in a Stormlight novella during 2018. I can also see Alcatraz being finished next year, and with luck, he might manage to fix AG between books as well... which means going into 2019 with no Alcatraz or Legion, as well as a complete trilogy waiting for release, as well as the first AG. That will allow Brandon to focus on finishing Wax and Wayne as well, and then starting on Stormlight 4. I think the next State of the Sanderson will be real exciting.
  9. I only though about the Hoid story, but yeah, Rysn makes much more sense! Yay, Rysn road-trip! This is awesome!
  10. I believe a Cosmere Death Star has been discussed somewhere before (might have been along with @Steeldancer and his Shardshovel) but it being Urithiru is something new. I guess they could use Urithiru to blast Braize apart, should it actually be a giant death cannon. It would probably bother Rayse a bit, but I doubt it would be that big of a game changer, unless it could fire across realms.
  11. The way some people talked made it seem like they had forgotten about Jasnah actually having POVs. Just wanted to remind them, should that be the case.
  12. Here it is! Yay! Happy Koloss-Head Munching Day everyone! https://brandonsanderson.com/state-of-the-sanderson-2017/ Okay, looks like we are not getting new Cosmere stuff until 2019, with Wax & Wayne, unless Brandon pulls a stunt like he did with SoS and BoM. Dark One as an eventual movie/tv-series/graphic novel should be interesting as well.
  13. Book, movie, video game, it all goes. In fact, I åicked Luke and Leia in the OP, and they are primarily movie characters.
  14. I honestly think that it was because his personality fit the scene. He worries, and feels unsure of himself. By opening with Kalak, Brandon establishes how human the Heralds were. Or it was just to foreshadow that the Transportation surge doesn´t equal fast-travel.
  15. Uh, guys... Jasnah does have viewpoints in Part 5.
  16. Cusicesh is obviously part of Odiums evil plan to storm up the tourism in Iri.
  17. That Elhokar deserved what he got since he was the head of a government supporting slavery is a pretty dangerous thing to say. Why kill Elhokar? Because he is the king? Well, how much power does he really have? Dalinar is the real guy in charge, and the Highprinces basically do whatever they want as well. And why did Elhokar end up as king? Because he was born into the system, as the son of Gavilar, the former king. He hasn´t really chosen his position, just as he didn´t choose to enslave people. Why should the slavery be blamed solely on him? Dalinar and the other highprinces are guilty as well. Should they be killed too? And they have highlords and other slave-owners under their command. You can kill those as well. And then we have town-lords like Roshone. They keep slaves. Do they deserve death as well? When do you stop? In fact, you can probably kill every single lighteyes, with the argument that were supporting slavery. But that just doesn´t hold up. We can not punish people by death, and Elhokar is no more deserving of punishment than Dalinar or the highprinces, or Jasnah, Navani, Amaram, etc. Then we have the fact that the slavery of Alethkar has been a thing for generations. The lighteyes are used to it, and most likely fail to see the issue, simply because slavery has been a thing since they were born. Just like people today would find life impossible without a car, a phone or a Brandon Sanderson-book, the Alethi can´t see a society without slavery. Changing a thing that is so deeply grown into the system is a very, very hard thing to do. There is a reason to why we haven´t stopped driving our cars, despite the fact that the ice is melting up north, and killing all the fluffy polar bears. It is such an important part of our lives. As for Moash, I agree. He is not evil. I think he is wrong in giving up hope for humanity. I can see why he does it, but I think it is the wrong decision. I agree with you about points of view as well: I have basically stated the same thing in discussions surrounding Amaram. People are more likely to agree with, and forgive, a main character who they like. This means that people will always be pretty forgiving towards Dalinar, Kaladin, Jasnah and other fan-favorites, and very hard on the characters who wrong them, out of which Moash is admittedly one.
  18. The problem with this is that the level of sentience we saw from Sja-anat was much more remarkable than what we saw from Re-Shepir. Re-Shepir appeared to be more on the Nergaoul level of things, while Sja-anat behaved like a real person. It is a good idea otherwise though, if we only manage to figure Re-Shepir out.
  19. I liked Last Jedi (seems like an unpopular opinion, considering the fan response).
  20. My only wish for Ep 9 is that it ends with Hux as the sole ruler of the galaxy.
  21. Alien: Covenant is better than Aliens.
  22. I like how this is actually worth mentioning :-D
  23. I really liked it. I think Kylo Ren is awesome, as I did in TFA. He is the most complex Star Wars character, in my opinion. Rey was cool though, but I feel like she was forgotten sfter the fight against the Praetorian Guard (which was awesome, by the way). As for the others, Poe is funny, and had a great arc that felt fresh and new. Hux was brilliant, cranked up to eleven, and very funny. I loved the "do you think you got him?" line. Perfect. Luke was also handled phenomenally. I have always found him pretty boring, but this movie made him into a compelling and tragic character. As for Snoke, I liked what we saw of him, and I admire that they had the guts to kill him (biggest shock of the movie) but I want to learn his backstory. The weakest part was Finn and Rose on Canto Bight. Felt out of place, especially the horse riding. Also, why did Benicio del Toro lisp? That was bad. They wasted Phasma as well. She deserves more. Overall great movie!
