  1. The Faithful and the Fallen maybe? Only read book one out of four, but that was clean. GoT is another story entirely...
  2. Let's do the opposite if the other thread (Favorite Non-Brandon Characters) and talk about the characters we do NOT like. I'll start: -The Lord of the Rings: Frodo, because I find him boring, and Wormtounge, because of how despicable he is. -ASoIaF: Cersei, defenitely. Joffrey too. And Dany. I can't stand Daenerys Targaryen. Also, Bran, for having the chapters you ALWAYS want to skip. -Star Wars: Luke and Leia. Again, they are pretty boring. I love Mark Hamill though, and The Last Jedi might change this. How about you?
  3. Welcome! Hope to see you around in the future! That said, I disagree with you :-P Shallan is one of my favorite characters. First off, I like her jokes, and I do find them funny. I also feel symphaty for her because of her past, which I found extremely tragic. In addition, she has some awesome moments, such as when she uses her drawings to make others see the best side of themselves, which has led to some heart-warming moments. Her insecurities, mental unstableness, and split-personas also makes her interesting to read. As an added bonus, she has the best spren (Pattern). That said, I know she is a controversial character. People mostly tend to like Kaladin and Dalinar, but Shallan has always been subject to discussion.
  4. It was the same thing with Jasnah in WoR. There wasn't much reaction from anyone.
  5. Azure is Vivenna, Vivenna is May Aladar, May Aladar is Chana, Chana is Liss and everyone is an invested black hole.
  6. Axies probably bleeds ink, considering all those tattoos...
  7. @The Sovereign @PhineasGage I forgot Renarin, but I mean the original WoK bridgemen, like the Sovereign is guessing, the ones who carried the bridges for Sadeas.
  8. I think humanity on Roshar came from either Braize or Ashyn. There is proof for both. Ashyn is a burning mess, and also has (spoilers for sample chapter of the Ashyn story, whose name I forgot): Braize is empty (except for splinters) and is Odiums base of operations. It is possible that Odium arrived to the Roshar system, manipulated the surgebinders among the humans, made them destroy their own world, and go to the next, as a step in his odious plan. These humans most likely wound up settling in Shinovar, and the girl who looked up is most likely about them. This might be why the Odiumspren have wierd eyes. The humans then fought the Dawnsingers, and won, and so Odium, for some reason, used the dead spirits of Dawnsingers to create an army. I think this might be why H+C joined humanity: the Dawnsingers, led by the spirits of their ancestors, betrayed H+C first. Just a guess, and probably a bad one. As for the significance of Roshar, I just think that there is a lot of investiture there. Three Shards, a huge amount of splinters, a huge Cognitive Realm, filled with life... I think that is the main deal.
  9. It felt a bit sudden, I agree (actually, adding some pages to OB wouldn't have hurt any) but it was mostly the fact that Teft apparently had a Honorspren following him for quite some time that surprised me. I thought him becoming a Radiant was a nice addition to the story. I don't really think it is as awesome as a lot of others did, but it was a good moment.
  10. It is a good theory, and you have gathered great evidence for it, but I have a gut feeling that Bridge 4 will be Windrunner only. I remember Teft being a popular Stoneward candidate, and we all know how that went... Also, Syl would have commented if she saw cryptics around Rock.
  11. I haven't read comics from either (not that big in Sweden) but movie wise, Marvel is better. And I say that as someone who like both BvS and Suicide Squad.
  12. @Nathrangking @EvilNuff He shall have to spend a couple of minutes thinking about cheese... (I just made something up). EvilNuff is right in one thing though: were Sadeas to really die (horrid thought) he would indeed make the most spectacular corpse in the history of the Cosmere, just as he was the most spectacular living creature in the Cosmere.
  13. There is no death which as made me as sad as that of Sadeas.
  14. Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! You did this! Well, of course you did, why wouldn't you? Torol Sadeas is not only the savior of Roshar, but of the Cosmere. All hail Torol, Radiant of Radiants, the Man who should have been a Herald, Hero of Ages and protector of mankind.
  15. I doubt Malata will be major. She might get to fight a main character if the KR ever gets into a fight with the Diagram. Other than that, she seems to be Taravangians muscle, and the character introduced for opening the Oathgate when Renarin or Shallan are required by plot to be elsewhere. I wouldn't be surprised to see Malata die in Book 4, especially since Brandon went on a killing spree in OB.
  16. Someone liked the trailer.
  17. I think we could get banned for that actually...
  18. I follow it closely (big fan) and have seen everything except Hulk. This looks fantastic, and is my most anticipated thing 2018. I fear that Loki won't live to see the credits though.
  19. I like him as a character. I don't agree with his ideals, but I can see how he would find it appealing, and I think that he genuinely thinks that it will help a lot of people. And he seems to be trying to be a good man, while at the same time being forced by his goal, his boss (and, although he doesn't realize it, by his own wish for glory), to commit crimes which he normally wouldn't want to commit (killing the spearmen). I think that this action haunts him more than he wants to show, but that he stays upright, and on course thanks to his faith and the fact that he did it for the greater good. When Odium showed him the holes in the Vorin faith, and he realized that he had become a murderer, liar and thief for nothing, he broke under the mountain of guilt, and swore to Odium in order to be free from it. That led to his corruption, and him basically turning into a monster, who was then headshot by Rock. It also looks like his mother had high hopes for him, and wanted him to reach greatness (he mentions how she wanted him to be an awesome general in his fight with Jasnah). I think this might explain his thirst for glory. I don't think Amaram himself realizes how big that thirst is, and I don't think he considers the little he sees as bad either. So Amaram was brought up by a mother who wanted him to reach greatness. He tried to do what he percieved as good, had to become a villain to succeed, broke when he realized that his cause was a lie, and then had his guilt and shame used against him to turn him to the dark side, where he died without any of the glory her or his mother wished for. Amaram is wrong more than he is right, and he is weak enough to allow for Odium to take over, but he is not a bad person, and he is not the unreedemable villain everyone thinks he is. That is how I see him, anyway.
  20. Hah, I think we both need a penance. We forgot a Mistborn Era 2 one as well (Bands of Mourning spoilers): Anyway, penance... starting a Torol Sadeas appreciation thread? And Eylita is totally on the hit list...
  21. @PhineasGage Its four dead E-people. You forgot about Evi.
  22. Civil War is quite popular though, isn't it? Its got its haters, but a lot of people (me included) love it.
  23. I don't think Jasnah lacks compassion. If she did, she would have killed Renarin, even though he is her cousin. But then, I wouldn't call Jasnah the most compassionate character in SA. She does "temper her compassion with logic" as she herself states, and sometimes I think that she is having a bit much logic, and a too small amount of compassion.
  24. The fact that this thread now has 50 replies says a lot of how nerdy (good nerdy) this fandom is...
