I grant to you, Toasters Stormlight Awards, for Part One: MVP POV: Shallan. She had the most action, bits of lore with Unmade info, a couple of really fun scenes and character development that left everyone worried and intrigued. MVP secondary character: Pattern. He created memes and fandom jokes that will last longer than TLRs lifespan. He is the best spren. Also, some other awards: Most Overhyped Character: May Aladar. This lady caused a lot of discussion, and did this with zero lines, zero actions of importance and zero anything. She is like Stick, except for the fact that Stick has been more plot relevant, which says something. Most Badass Character: Dalinar. He went for a walk in a Highstorm, killed an assassin, and plans to invade everyones dreams. You can be cool, but you'll never be casually-strolling-through-a-Highstorm cool. Funniest Character: Pattern. You can't divide by zero, but you can give two awards to Pattern. Most Dead Character: Sadeas. Cause, ya know, he's dead.

[OB] Shipping Predictions (Super Cereal)
Toaster Retribution replied to Salkara's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't want to smash your ships @Salkara, but Axies is confirmed per WoB to not make an appearance in Oathbringer. So any romance between him and Re-Shepir will have to wait until book 4. Also, is Laral and Amaram really a thing? -
Mystery Project in Sanderson's Status Bar
Toaster Retribution replied to Exalted's topic in General Brandon Discussion
True. I forgot about White Sand, and I was honestly unaware of Emperors Soul. Thanks! -
What kind of ranks?

Underestimating Cultivation
Toaster Retribution replied to shawnhargreaves's topic in Stormlight Archive
@OathKeeper Those are Odiums pizza deliverymen. We have confirmation per WoB. Nah, just kidding. They are called Stormstriders on the forums, though I don't know if that is an official name. I doubt they are of Cultivation, but that is just my gut feel. -
Mystery Project in Sanderson's Status Bar
Toaster Retribution replied to Exalted's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Cosmere? Yes please! I'm still kind of sad about it not being Dark One though. Interesting question: would there be any effects of having Cosmere stories published from different companies (Tor and Penguin)? -
I'm going to spend the school day waiting for all lessons to end, and then run to the local nerdstore like Amaram on free-Shardblade distribution day, buy the book, read on the bus, get off the bus, but candy, walk up to my house, go into my room and read. Alternatively I'll run to the local nerdstore duribg lunch break, but I'm not sure I'll have the time. Wish I was a Twinborn with Steelrunning and Pulsing powers.

Stormlight Archive Casting
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
How would they make the Parshendi btw? Would make-up work, or would they need to use CGI? I have already suggested Gwendoline Christie for Eshonai, and I also think that Natalie Dormer could make a good Venli. And I still think that Tom Hiddleston is the best Hoid. -
What are you playing right now?
Toaster Retribution replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Pokemon Moon. I bought it a week ago... -
Two things: 1. I won't mourn Eshonai that much if she is dead. The parshendi are one of the least interesting things in SA for me, and Eshonai, while not bad, wasn't that memorable. 2. Brandon said he would chill with the fake deaths.

Are we allowed to post our own stories in the forums?
Toaster Retribution replied to Cyanic's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
http://www.17thshard.com/forum/forum/35-creators-corner/ In here. I don't know the answer to your second question, you should ask a mod. @Mestiv might know, for example. -
Why would real Shallan do that though? They pictured stuff she hadn't even seen before then. Unless Re-Shepir could use her depression in order to hijack her and make her draw dead horses. Also, Pattern doesn't know where they came from.
-
I'm pretty convinced that bonds are a focus. Beyond the fact based evidence for it, bonds are very important thematically in SA. As for the rest, I have a hard time seeing Re-Shepir refer to the Almighty, or even think/speak in that form. I can defenitely see Yixli as a Protection-spren though.

Brandon in Boss Monster
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'm not the greatest at board games, but we have a club at school called the Nerd Squad (Nördkåren in swedish) where I played Boss Monster. Basically, every player plays as an evil boss, and build rooms with monsters and traps around you to kill the heroes who cone trying to kill you. It is basically one of these old platforming games, but with cards instead of a video game console, and from the villains perspective. The players gather souls from the heroes they kill, and the first to ten wins. You can also try to help heroes who are attacking another player, to get ahead in the game. Brandons character is one of the heroes, which means that you basically try to kill him and steal his soul. -
Welcome! Upvoting :-)

Anyone care to explain the magic or "Investiture" here?
Toaster Retribution replied to Quickbronze's question in Cosmere Q&A
You know nothing of cookies, my friend... -
Don't know if anyone else is aware, since Boss Monster: the next level is a couple of years old, but I didn't know about it until I played it with a friend today. I was looking through the cards and found a hero named Branadin Wordblessed, who wore a mistcloak, was floating and glowing, and holding a spear. His character description had him travelling between planets, referenced copper, and said that he only stopped writing when fighting evil. I happily told my friend that Sanderson was in the game (my friend has read the first two Mistborn, but he paused before the third to read Twilight, because he wants to know how bad it really is). I also discovered George RR Martin (Ser Mortin the Deadly, dangerous at weddings) and Patrick Rothfuss (Wrathfuss the Namer, who knows names).

Someone should ask him at the Oathbringer signings.

(Theory) Hoid reviving Adonalsium?
Toaster Retribution replied to Sallin Zeras's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I made a theory like that. It is in my sig if you are interested. I do think that Hoids plans has something to do with restoring Adonalsium, but I don't know exactly how or why. -
@The Invested Beard too late! Because I'm a SCADRIAN WAFFLE COOK (life goal reached). You can still get waffles, Beard. Shaped like Chanas Blade.

Stormlight Archive Casting
Toaster Retribution replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
@Bridgeboy Some of those suggestions are quite good. I really like Chow Yun Fat as Sadeas. @Kal Personally, I'm with Tor on this one. Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter) would be interesting. By the way, have I mentioned that Aidan Gillen could voice Pattern. I think he has a kind of buzzing voice as Pattern, and I would love for him to whisper "lies" in a creepy yet funny way. -
[OB] The Group that Showed up with Jasnah
Toaster Retribution replied to Isaiah Zayth's topic in Stormlight Archive
I considered that too. It is defenitely possible.
