I have a suspicion that worldhoppers may not be able to attract spren but I have to reread to confirm or deny.

Random Stuff X: Something Weird
Oversleep replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
So... Structure Neutral, Ingredient Radical? I went to sleep past 5 am with one of the two things solved. The other one I figured out during my one hour nap and coded on the way to uni. Which means I'm on one hour of so-so sleep. This means I'm only mildly tired but at one moment in the evening I will just collapse. -
Random Stuff X: Something Weird

Not much left to do but it's past 3am and I've hit that point that I'm browsing random internets instead of work but I won't go to sleep because I haven't finished yet. No idea why I do that to myself. -
The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Oversleep replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Probably What-The-Storm. Posted WTS is attempting to skirt the rules by smuggling F-word. What makes it funny is that @Mestiv is a moderator XD -
Set had unkeyed metalminds and did not have medallions (they only acquired them later when capturing Alik and the rest in the temple of Sovereign).

Once again I have to ask for source. I do remember he has unkeyed metalminds but nothing about medallions.

Possible Random Theory on the ever elusive HOID
Oversleep replied to Buschy's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Thanks. I combed through theoryland at the end of February/beginning of March so that explains it. By the way, is there a way to see only WoBs that were added to Theoryland after certain date? That way I could update my Hoid WoB database easily. -

Source? Anyway, I'm working on a compilation of Hoid-related WoBs so that could be helpful. EDIT: @The One Who Connects see for yourself if it does ;P -
Leading theory is Compounding copper allows you to multiply memories so it would mean there can be lots of these coins and Kelsier still has all his memories.

I'm actually working backwards - I thought he can see electricity and so he can see power lines, wiring in the walls and human organisms. Now I have to specify what it is what he sees.

Two things about Discord: 1) The voice chat never worked for me in the browser. It does in the desktop app. 2) Discord does not turn off when you click the red X. You have to go there: and click here: to truly quit discord. Otherwise it will keep running. Why am I telling you this? Well... this happened: I was in a voice channel earlier before I "quit" so @A Joe in the Bush heard my music and asked We're in UTC+1 but we also have Daylight Saving Time +1 so currently it's 14:30 (2:30 pm). It's 15:30 (3:30 pm) in Israel. 8:30 in New York, 7:30 in Kansas City, 6:30 in Salt Lake City and 5:30 in San Francisco. So when USA Sharders are at home at 7:00 pm, it's midnight (give or take an hour) in Poland.

I suggest changing "Why is Hoid here? _ " to "The reason Hoid is here is:_". That way it's more smooth.

By that point they already dispatched Mistborn assassins so it depends whether they see your apology quick enough to call them off -

The kandra would be crushed under its own weight. Chasmfiend don't due to symbiotic spren bonds.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!

Spent way, way too long searching for a bug in my code. I was loosing my mind over this. It was just a simple merge sort, nothing that should give me any trouble yet it refused to work! I had no idea why it did not work properly. I even went step by step through merge sort algorithm, with doing visualisations of every step and how the arrays looked like. Couldn't find anything wrong with it. I started doubting my sanity here: either my code was haunted or somehow I both understood and not understood the algorithm at the same time. The bug? I named arrays in the merge function respectively "left" and "right". I accidentaly wrote "left" instead of "right" in one condition and my brain somehow kept reading it "right" so I didn't notice the bug. For like over three hours I was looking in all the wrong places. Then, just before I started hitting the keyboard with my head, my eyes just wandered and I noticed "hey, why am I comparing elements of the same arr... THERE YOU ARE". Guess who is gonna be sleepy tomorrow? I feel my name is dead giveaway... -
I was just questioning Pagerunner's words about Soulcasting using Connection.
-
I meant she was able to Soulcast people with little effort. And yeah, that thing with Soulcasting the ropes - she just orders them to change and they do. Given the fact she's much more experienced in Soulcasting... Also, she can even manage precise, continuous Soulcasting - at one point in WoK she runs out of ink so she Soulcasted words directly into paper.

I want some naval stuff. Imagine a planet that's almost all covered by water. And for some reason there's a lot of worldhoppers or rather descendands of worldhoppers. Pirates! Great naval battles! Long days with nothing but water in sight, the only limit being the horizon. There is a Metalborn crew (Lurcher is basically ten people on a sailing boat). There is a ship operated by three Awakeners who just Command all the ropes. I don't know what the native magic system would be... perhaps drinking rum allows you to see currents, both the air currents and sea currents? Nice water/wind combo. Or even bend them a little. Yeah. Storm mages. Y'know what, one day I could write that as Cosmere fanfiction...

On the other hand, Jasnah does not need anything of that sort. I think Shallan should not be what we measure Soulcasting by; after all, she was unable to Soulcast a stick into fire while other Soulcasters regularly Soulcast much more and much more complicated things. (Not to mention things Jasnah did) On the topic of Forgery - it probably could be helped by manipulating your Connections, as Forgery rewrites those things. Probably you could make Essence Marks that are more off and which normally wouldn't take.

Poland - Warsaw and Krakow events 18/21 March
Oversleep replied to Extesian's topic in Events and Signings
Yeah, I may have thought at the moment that they were the same. But Brandon didn't go "you're making assumptions" or anything of the sort. On the other hand, he may just have wanted to not reveal anything (as evidenced by RAFO), even correct me. So we should give that WoB a footnote when it's getting parsed into Theoryland. EDIT: BTW, if you look closely at the transcript, you can see that at certain point we started going offscript. We prepared up to the "where is Terrisan lady" because we thought we'd have like 15 minutes... but it did not end then so we rolled with it. That's why sometimes we say "one last question" because we had no idea when the interview would end Good thing we had more questions prepared (all the Realmatical questions save for siamese Feruchemical gold twins are drawn from my personal list of questions which I forgot to take with me when the interview ended. I wonder whether Brandon found it). -
Random Stuff X: Something Weird
Oversleep replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I may be weird but I do enjoy emotional turmoil... Did I mention I consider Shadows of Self the best Mistborn book and the best ending of Cosmere book up to date? Anyway, it's very sad and all... but it doesn't give you nightmares! It's not stuff that keeps you wide awake in the night; it's rather stuff that makes you cry yourself to sleep (I guess; my opinion is people of internets are usually overreacting and those FMA sad moments have become a meme on its own right, so your mileage may vary). So, @The Honor Spren do watch it beginning to the end. It's worth it. Somebody who read/seen FMA and gave a shot at AoT told me Attack on Titan is just FMA but done badly. What @Jedal said. FMA is not about being grim and dark, although it did contain those elements. -

No. Sorry to shatter your dreams, but the main 10 characters are firmly set and Adolin is not one of them.

Wait, how can the original source (manga) leave something out?
