  1. That depends on how many people are gonna ask questions. If there are lots of them, then they'd make their own topics and link them in the main thread. Or they could tag people who are knowledgeable in that field.
  2. Shards are incredibly powerful.
  3. I'd also want to add that there is no bigger, encompassing magic system. They share roots and fundamental laws and so on... it's like there are different kinds of waves, right? They're basically the same thing but they're all different and there is no "universal" wave.
  4. Valar avoid interference Elves weak Numenor's fallen There's taint on his soul already Sauron's ring
  5. There is an answer posted (it's both on FB and twitter but if you're lazy here's a link).
  6. Interestingly, that's what just happened in a worldbuilding group I'm in I'm gonna reap the benefit of speaking two languages to get two sets of opinions on my ideas
  7. Remind me to make a meme about Cosmere proposals.
  8. I bet that eventually we'd get to see Hoid walking by a Scadrian cinema where a guy proposes in High Imperial. I mean, Hoid attented the wedding of @Rubix and @firstRainbowRose. Oh! And to keep in theme, the cinema gets raided by the Allomantic SWAT few minutes later because of the false trail the Mistborn serial killer left for them. So, @Delightfully Smoak, @Pinnacle-Ferring - congratulations! Watch out for Allomancers!
  9. As I have already said in Random Stuff: TLR is Sauron. Ruin is probably Morgoth.
  10. Looking up for WoB about what happens with the Shard after Vessel is no longer there. I found one: But I'm fairly sure that Brandon also mentioned it could Splinter. Perhaps it was about Ruin and Preservation left after Vin suicide-killed Ati?
  11. We do? I don't think we have a WoB on that... but I don't see why not. As for what will happen to the Shard, we do know: it would either splinter, seek out a new host or become sentient. EDIT: Found a WoB. I'm pretty sure there's one that says a Shard would Splinter without a Vessel, perhaps it was about Ruin and Preservation left after Vin suicide-killed Ati? Actually the voting for that poll is over...
  12. Never noticed that! And I have not heard about it earlier either.
  13. Yeah, timezones are at fault here.
  14. Care of @SnopyDogy, here. Do not forget about that: :D
  15. You mean you haven't seen asdf movies? Go watch them.
  16. So basically you want to create this?
  17. The problem is we both live in Poland while what you need is somebody from States that speaks Polish Come to think of it, I think @Pestis the Spider lives in UK although I haven't seen her around for a long time.
  18. I wouldn't know, never read him.
  19. Here's the WoB that my quote was taken from, if anyone is curious:
  20. Evil overlord who made nine human kings serve him by offering them power. He rules over the wasteland of ash. He was defeated by having the jewelry that contained his lifeforce stolen.
  21. You know this type of villain who believes he's doing the right thing and that heroes are too morally simplistic and he believes that their victory will doom everyone? Let's shift all these things a level. He's the main protagonist and he's right. Not Rashek-right; actually right. While his actions may seem at times questionable, he's the hero. But, after all, the world is not black and white and Knight Templar is not somebody we'd like to meet - actually it's a scary person; fortunately the protagonist is not so close minded. You know Rorschach from Watchmen? We could make the "heroes" like him. However the protagonist cannot be like Ozymandias. Important thing is to execute so it won't be obvious there is a moral shift going on. It should be noticeable only upon reflection on the book or perhaps when the hero delivers a line usually spoken by villains, like "you think you're the hero here?" but it's completely justified and then the reader realizes the whole thing.
  22. I know The whole thing is a very elaborate trolling.
  23. IIRC Pattern at this stage was trying to figure out the whole food thing - why we put one thing into our mouths and the things that come out the other ways we try to hide. The suggestion "Perhaps eat it?" serves to indicate it. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Quoth @The One Who Connects:
  24. Yeah, several people in Polish fandom have said theoryland doesn't work for them. For me it always worked, though.
  25. Isn't the spanker too big? I mean, half of it extends over the boat. It would make the boat weather helm.
