Random Stuff X: Something Weird
Oversleep replied to marsoupial's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Normal day for Samurai Jack. -
@Kandra-in-disguise, I've seen argument raised that Kelsier feels no remorse about killing - he even enjoys slaughtering nobles. What would that make him? He clearly has empathy as his relationships show but this thing is not something you'd find in an average person.

Let's go Munchkin, shall we? As far as abilities go, you can't choose better than Survivor's Spearhead/Bands of Mourning. 16 Allomantic powers, 16 Feruchemical powers. You can't do anything with godmetals but then you don't have any godmetals. And you can refill nicrosilminds with Compounding. Choosing anything else from Scadrial is inferior... even lerasium pales in comparison. Unless you are in Cosmere and you pick Kandra's Trust. So much material for atium spikes, that could be nice, but I still think the Spearhead is far more superior choice. Sel's magic is not accessible if you're not on Sel. Which is a shame since AonDor could be potentially SO.MUCH.POWERFUL. Nalthis: Peacegiver's Treasure. The other thing to choose is Nighblood (you could probably feed him with your Allomancy, so that's a choice to consider). But I'd prefer 50 000 Breaths, Awakening is too much fun and all those Heightenings are really fun. Roshar... we'd want some Surgebinding, right? So either a spren or a Honorblade. We don't have to worry about Stormlight, we can Compound anything, and with immortality granted by the Breaths we have a lot of time to figure out how to fuel Surgebinding with Allomancy. Now, the question is whether we pick a spren or Honorblade. Being a Radiant gives you Shardplate and morphing, instantly summonable Shardblade but also it restricts your way of life to adhere to the Ideals of the Order. Honorblades have no checks but they are set in their shape and you won't get Shardplate or squires. I'd personally pick a Honorblade although I don't know which one yet. There are some fun combinations of Surges (here are some good ones) but we still don't know most of them. I'd lean towards Stoneward, Dustbringer or Skybreaker Honorblade. You can't get a better build than Survivor's Spearhead, Peacegiver's Treasure and Honorblade/spren. Of course unless you make good use of those hundreds of atium spikes but Hemalurgic spikes never stop to hurt, so...

Questions about Shardblade Summoning
Oversleep replied to Faceless Mist-Wraith's topic in Cosmere Discussion
My notes say only "Leecher touches Shardbearer - he won't be able to summon the Blade". But this is coming from @Rasarr's post here. Although that entry in my notes may have come directly from Rasarr and not something I heard, so she is the best source. I think it was about Shardbearers, not Radiants. -

BTW, a Leeched Shardbearer won't be able to summon Shardblade. (I think this WoB may have not been processed yet - it's from Warsaw signing line) -

Pie? What flavour? -
I've heard the virus mutated to not contain killswitches. Now, when did I last updated my OS...

Wait, wait, wait. I've only realized that there is something wrong. As the WoBs of @The One Who Connects say: Only Elantrians can draw Aons (so it means they must have built Elantris. Nobody else could make it work): To become Elantrian you have to be taken by Shaod: So far it means that Shaod must have existed before Elantris. But there is this WoB: which makes it all circular reasoning since to have Shaod you need Elantris and you can't build Elantris without Shaod having already existed.

With my non-existant manual skills it would be a miracle if I ever get to making a mistcloak (which is like one of the simplest cosplays I ever heard of... wait... if I keep growing my beard I just need a big black sword and I could cosplay Vasher ). So, unlikely. Thanks, I'll look into that. We have already sent our submition but it's vague enough that I could shove almost anything Cosmere related there. -

I've just seen asdf movie 10. I'm like six weeks late but it's asdf alright <3 If you don't know what asdf movie is... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS TIME?! And start with the first one because of running jokes. -
Actually our prime example of hacking magic systems is powering Feruchemy with Allomancy aka Compounding

Unlikely since Marsh has already taken some spikes from dead Inquisitors; why not use a real spike in his eye (although he may have just took his back).

Actually Matisse is a cameo for real person... although I don't know whether Aon Ati came before or after that thing (the story is in the postcript of Hope of Elantris in AU). I personally think Aon Ati was made so that Matisse could be Aonic name. But we should probably ask Brandon. -
Well, Kelsier does have a bit of messiah complex... but apart from getting another half of the planet to worship his as a savior, he could have also had other reasons. It's not too far-fetched to assume that Kelsier would simply want to help dying Southeners. He is, after all, a good person. If he had the knowledge and the means to do it, I assume he would do it just because it's the right thing to do. Of course, Kelsier being Kelsier, he may have used this situation to gain other benefits. Such as more worship for him (at that point I start to wonder what such planet-wide belief does to a person in Cosmere - so far only Heralds have more of people belief). Harmonium could also be one of his goals. But I think that events of the Secret History have the most of impact: he learned about cosmere, Shards, other planets... but most importantly his encounter with Ire. He personally witnessed powerful beings with powerful organization (they have a rusting fortress in the Cognitive Realm!). I think he wanted to push Scadrial more to be ready for those kinds of things, so Scadrial had to advance - and for that he needed Southeners and Northeners to meet; Southeners have Metallic technology and Northeners have a lot of Metalborn. Perfect synergy. Therefore, he made Survivor's Spearhead and told Southeners very specifically not to get them (which of course they interpreted as a challenge as he knew they would). Then he probably spread some rumours about Bands of Mourning in the North - those had a harder time catching on, though (probably due to the usual rumours of the original Bands). Now that they had met, this goal was accomplished. Technological progress will speed up. Now... what he is up to now? Here's some discussion about what his endgoals are:

I've got first four words but then I cannot make anything of words 5, 6 and 7... So I'm giving up for now, will try later

It's true I was familiar with the assumption that it's the nurse and that can be traced back to @Kurkistan, so my shot was not entirely mine... but you could at least tag me, guys I learned randomly in some thread about worldhoppers. It's nice I could contribute, though

@The One Who Connects, lerasium spikes are RAFO-on-sight thing.

Suddenly The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions feels a lot more ominous than it should. -
Everything I was able to gather about Vasher's worldhopping from theoryland: He visited Roshar before Manywar and Nightblood's creation. Currently he is on Roshar as Zahel - the easy to obtain Investiture which he could feed on was one of the major reasons of his coming to Roshar. He tried to Awaken with Stormlight but failed. He hasn't figured out how to do it. He got separated with Nightblood on Roshar (before the plot of WoK) and they had a falling out. Vasher misses him and feels responsible for him. He visited fewer than six planets. He knows about Hoid (calls him "Dust") but does not know the whole story.

Yeah, they could bond spren. But my suspicion is that spren could sense something being off with worldhoppers and just when worldhopper gets angry there won't be any angerspren.
