How would she even learn about them in the first place if everybody south of the Wall think them a fairy tale and superstition? I am counting on Bran to rise to power. I wonder how he's going to be able to stop Night's King (like Coldhands said) if all he can do is warg things and see past.

I have to disagree with you here. IIRC, every character who was black was mentioned as being black. So to assume out of nowhere that Hermione was in fact black is grasping at straws for me. I wonder why didn't Rowling just say that theater can do whatever they want instead of going the route "The books don't mention her skin color". But the fact is that the books mention skin color of black people every time, Hermione's skin doesn't get any mention and she's a main character, so it surely would have been mentioned... do the math. Anyway, theater is this magical place where no one bats an eye when an old man is playing a young lady, when 5 very different actors play the same character et cetera. So she could have just said "Theater does what they want" and everybody would have been fine (well, everybody apart from some idiots). But no, she just decided to contradict what she wrote. Perhaps it was another plot to gain some spotlight, like she occasionaly says things like "Hermione was to end up in relationship with Harry" and so on.

Chapter 60, the way of kings, epigraph

It's considered questionable. I take it that the scholar knew the Immortal Words (cause scholars kind of know things) and did a twist on it to be their dying words. Also, it's secondhand. -
Random thought: after all that time Daenerys finally comes to Westeros to claim Seven Kingdoms. She thinks she'd win, cause she got dragons and a huge army... and then Bran decides he's having none of that, hijacks the dragons, burns her armies and steals the dragons to wipe out Others. Or maybe Jon takes her army while Bran takes the dragons

Isn't it plaintext?

@Quiver On the topic of Bleach... You stopped at Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra, right? You could finish the Hueco Mundo arc (not much left, really). You could skip almost all of the next arc (Defending Karakura) since it's pretty much filling the space with cool fights. Then read the end of it and after that the next arc (Fullbring), which was quite interesting, and after that the last one (Vandenreich), which is interesting. At least for Bleach standards.

That feeling when your sister is manually going through a long chain of characters, looking for some specific pattern of aminoacids. Then you came by and think "Oh, that's one easy. I could write a program which solves that in 5 minutes...that is, if I knew regular expressions.". I still gave her some tips to improve her way of searching, but it still hurts me. I should've been able to do this :| EDIT: I looked up some basics of regex and used some regex online site - I was able to find the only candidate... but by the time I did this she already found it :| At least I proved that there is only one, though

Was her input significantly longer than inputs you used to test your fix? Or maybe she used special characters or stuff... -
Another question: are there any WoBs out there about Shattering of Honor? Specifically, I recall that Honor Shattered into spren and that they were some sort of release valve that Sel, for example, lacked. I don't know if this is confirmed or just another production of my mind, either. P.S. I am compiling some knowledge about basic concepts of cosmere so I tend to question a lot. Is that theory? Was that confirmed? And so on.

I looked up the film on wikipedia. Thanks for it, maybe one day I'll check it out, but that's not what I was talking about. The incarnation aspect is only tangential to my idea. It's about people who are not forced by anybody to fight but themselves, but at the same time they don't want to do it.

I totally forgot to post this:

I told someone that Nahel bond makes spren closer to the Physical Realm and human closer to Cognitive. But then, when asked for sources, I couldn't find any. Did I make that up or is there a WoB out there?

I very much want something like that but for making drinks. Those apps would be perfect if they could keep a database of ingredients. Because inputting manually the content of the whole fridge would be tiresome.

Yeah, the whole problem is that Hemalurgy is something like soul transpantology. While it works between humans or even living organisms in general (as we have confirmed that we can spike animals), machines are quite different. You can't exactly give a robot human arm and expect it to be able to use it. Unless we get to some really, really advanced cyborgs with sapience.

Hemalurgy works by messing with Spiritweb. I don't think that machines have Spiritweb.

I had an idea about two opponents who had respect for each other. Long ago they learned that ambushing each other still wasn't doing the trick, so now they greet each other before they try to cut each other to pieces. Then the idea grew. What if there's more than just respect for a worthy opponent? What if it was more of a love-hate relationship but not on the axis of love but on the axis of rivalry? They've become some sort of a sparring partners in duels to the death, which up to this day both of them survived? Now as they approach each other and they know that it must be the final fight, they discover they don't actually want to do it? Another angle: two friends who sought out powers to Resolve Some Conflict discover that the nature of these powers is to make the bearers fight each other to death. One power must win and the other has to die. Then the winner is somehow essential to the world. After his work is done, he passes away and both powers are reborn. And the cycle continues. Attempting to not fight or make a double suicide could result in destroying the universe. Or something. The whole scene would be about them coming at each other, their dialogue. Maybe they stick their swords into the ground and talk all night. And then, when the dawn approaches, they get up and grab their swords.

Tsk. Any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from miracle. Courtesy of Lev Grossman, quote taken from "The Magician King".

Cosmere is pretty simple and straightforward when compared with alternate multiverses with multiple reboots and crossovers. In fact, my cousin borrowed me Preacher so I soon I will read it ^^ Just another cheap trick. It will turn out to be mind control or another alternate history cause from what I've heard there was some collision with alternate universe...? And before that Doom was a god...? I don't even bother to keep up. Anyway, weird plotwists are one thing, but I'm talking about all that comicbook plot-logic. I recently read a nice article summing up Civil War in comics and I was like "Uh, really? They should take half of what they sniff." It means deriving happiness/pleasure from misfortune of others.

For me, DC and Marvel comics are a mess. I am not diving in that. Too complicated. But I am totally sharpening my teeth for Watchmen and Sandman. And I am buying Switch and I have the Death Vigil. Switch is Witchblade universe, but alternate events. Somebody else is the bearer. The author posted quite a lot from the first issues (currently we are at #5 I think) on his DA, I could get you a link. Death Vigil is from the same author and it's totally awesome. He posted all 8 issues on his DA, but even having read them I went through the trouble of getting them shipped from another continent, cause I want to support the author (DV had good reception, but poor sales, unfortunately).

What about Petyr and his travel from the Valley to Mole's Town? I am not sure how far away is it, but I'm pretty confident it's quite far (Valley is another Kingdom after all and The Wall is at the farest end of the North Kingdom). Remember how long trips took at the beginning? How many episodes? It's significantly sped up. BTW, how long is Sam, Gilly and Aemon sailing now? How many people made long trips in that time? My timelines got confused.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

We (me and my family) played Monopoly for the first time in years... and we didn't argue! It was even enjoyable! (To put some context, years ago I put a sticket into the Monopoly box saying "Pick something else. You would just argue nonsensically. Again.". During those years when I was to choose a game to play with my family, that note was a reminder.) -
There are already multiple threads about Twinborn combos and powers -.-

@Pathfinder, I myself interpret that WoB differently. Like: Honor has Shattered into spren, can they be put back together? So the question is basically whether a Bondsmith could reforge spren into whole Honor again.
