I'm not sure that's the WoB I've seen, but I haven't found anything else:
-
There is a WoB that in fact Hemalurgy damage sticks after death and that those with such wounds would have some problems with going into afterlife. Also, there was a WoB about healing damaged Spiritual Aspect and IIRC it was done by templating from Physical and Cognitive.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Oversleep replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
The word 'savant' is ruined for me. Because we use it very much here and it's quite rare to come by in its normal meaning. -
It probably depends on the version of Deadpool. In the movie, he has regeneration, so I'd say Shardblade kills him (as it's purely physical regeneration). But I heard that in some comics he was a lover of Death, so on top of regenerating he simply does not die. Even Wolverine had different depictions of his regeneration. TVTropes told me all of that.

Do we even know why Elantrians look like that? I can understand why they glow; they're channeling Dor constantly. But why their skin is "metallic silver" and not, for example, gold? Why their hair is "brilliant white"? We know why all spren default to swords if they die - because they patterned after Honorblades. We know Returned shapeshift to their Cognitive image of their "godlike self". I say that Aona looked like that. What are your thoughts?

Tomorrow I have an exam and everybody is revising... The lecturer is somebody who we have a pretty low opinion about cause he repeatedly make mistakes who somebody who learned programming for even one month wouldn't make and he refused to admit that he was wrong. And his mistakes sometimes pass the area of "stupid mistake" and fly straight into "insane mistakes". Somebody has gone through the presentation which was on the last lecture (attendance was pretty low as it was a pretty hot time with all the courses ending) and posted the craziest excerpts. We're collectively laughing our brains out on facebook. Something which doesn't require to know anything about programming to laugh:

I don't remember any WoBs about coins in particular. On medallions, yes, but not much about the coins themselves. From the book we only know what the informant at the party told Wax, that there were some coins circulating on the black market but now everybody hid theirs.

I had trouble with deleting the quote box (I was on PC). Also, I have to look for a way to edit all those notifications cause I don't really need to see that somebody has up/downvoted me or replied to a thread I posted into... Also, I have to turn off the sound. Also, I have to stop using 'also' all the time.

Well, the first question is whether the character has some actual role in the story or just providing the mystery. It's quite hard to have the character look mysterious whatever they do. Readers can wonder about what are intentions of this character, what are this character's connections to other people in the story, where is this character coming from and what is the past of this character.

@Edgedancer, @Rasarr I assume that Copper Compounding allows to make copies of memories. So yes, Kelsier would need to create the first one, but after that it's easy to make more.

Yeah...and what of it? I thought a hot dog is a sausage in bread. Not really sure what's the difference

It's fascinating how we know next to nothing about Stone Shamans and they're already perceived religious extremists... Also, take a note that not all obligators were evil. Also, ardents are "basically slaves" but they're not slaves per se. And of course all Lighteyes, Houselords and Highprinces are evil. Yeah, totally. Just claim that the whole Rosharan society system is evil. EDIT: I misunderstood Nyali's comment and as the consequence my post is unecessarily aggresive. I apologize for that, but I won't be editing it as I believe everybody has the right to see what I wrote in the first place and the Shard doesn't have any way to track 'edit history'.
-
Maybe those were regular Southener coins? Maybe it's their custom to have the first commendment ('survive') and first account of the coming of their Sovereign in their coins?
-
Well, Gavilar has connections to many secret societies of Roshar... which some of them are at odds with each other now. He confided in Taravangian who has gone and created Diagram and his society. Sons Of Honor have connection to him. There is a lot of mystery around Gavilar.

Actually there was a thread listing those things (or even two threads IIRC). I'll try to find it. I am 100% sure on existence of such thread, because that thread was really helpful when I was writing an article about easter eggs for Polish Sanderson fansite.

I'm not sure whether typing that in Google is a good idea... XD I wonder whether there is a list of the most interesting things writers typed into Google: "how long does it take for human to bleed to death" "a method to kill all animals but leave insects and plants intact" "what is nuclear bomb blastwave composed of" "what would happen if every electric device died"

While @DreamEternal may be in charge of dreams, my power commands you, @Chaos to sleep. Shard time is over, sleep.
-
It's not only about brightness, though. It's about the monocolority (is that even a word?). It's too monotonous. White, broken up by gray.
-
Wait, what? But lightsabers aren't magical at all! it isn't some 'Force artifact', it's just a laser! On the other hand, Mjolnir would surely be Invested, while adamantium and vibranium and other technological stuff wouldn't.
-
Okay, first of all, respect and thanks to the Chaos and all the people who made that change. *Applause* I can't (yet) properly thank for all the things you've done, as I haven't had time to surf around the site. But from what I gather from reading this thread, there are some super neat things implemented <3 A few things that (unfortunately) stand out: The color scheme. I feel like a Tin Savant who was flashbanged. Really, it's not a figure of speech, I caught myself squinting my eyes. (and I have my eyes checked regularly, I don't have any problems in that field) One thing, it's too bright. Second thing, there's too much white. Why use white and gray? Gray doesn't really differ that much from white, everything bleeds together and I can't properly see anything. What only makes brightness worse. I already turned down the brightness on my laptop and I never needed to do that. I already thought that the old design was a little too bright, but now we don't even have other colors breaking it up. Seeing where the one post ends and a new one begins started to be a problem. Icons. Those Aons are really similar and don't glow like the old ones used to do. I have much trouble seeing which forums have unread posts. Also, new posts icons suffer from the same problem, they're too alike. (Also, there is no 'map legend' of currently used Aons, I dunno what a few of them mean) Basically, everything is too bright and sterile and blends together. I don't really have feelings towards new shape of avatars, but from user viewpoint I'd say rectangular is better (easier to make and edit et cetera). Reputation system... well, the whole point of the titles display is to see who has how much points. No one possibly remembers the whole hierarchy and even if someone does, it's much more difficult to tell at first glance who has more (as I'd trust the knowledge of someone with 3,000 reputation points more than I would someone with barely 40 points). I upvoted you, but since somebody had already downvoted you, it comes out as zero.

Actually Shield (which is made of vibranium-steel alloy IIRC) can absorb kinetic energy which is why it is very hard to destroy by normal means. Cosmic or divine entities has done so, however. The Shardblade would have no problem whatsoever with the shield, as they cut on all three Realms. They do not meet any resistance, because they're primarily slicing Cognitive and Spiritual Aspects of the object. Mjolnir however seems Invested, so there could be a problem...

We'd need a database which would allow those features: properly organized categorization system - an improved version of tags linking different WoBs together - like bundling together different WoBs about burning Hemalurgic spikes or all WoBs about Cohesion marking RAFO's as 'revelaed' - when new information is revealed and RAFO becomes obsolete, by it by a new WoB or books. With a way to attach the new information key word searching (I've got no idea how theoryland works, all searches return 0 results ) marking WoBs as outdated by a new WoB I had more ideas, but I cannot recall them. Of course, we'd need a way for normal users to add more WoBs. And a system to moderate those WoBs. Also, as the launch of the new database would go, we'd need a system to add old WoBs into database. Since there is so much of them, I think that making a pop up appear once a day when a Sharder comes to the forums and asking to add "those five WoBs" with a link to the source and also asking to review (and probably edit) another five WoBs added by another Sharder. Each added WoB would be reviewed three times, by different users.

Epigraphs - Predictions/Interpretations
Oversleep replied to Lewis Nethur's topic in Stormlight Archive
Also, the chapter when they return from chasms is titled "True glory". And there is a thread on this, with more analysis and information. -
Okay, I think we agree that even after getting headshoted with an aluminium shattering (shrapnel bullet) TLR will live as long as he can tap his goldminds - I assume that since he already was burned to bones and beheaded on separate occasions, he unconsciously taps gold the moment he's damaged. Picture the scene - TLR is lying on the floor, there's blood everywhere... The question is: was there anybody smart enough to deduce that the only way to save his ruler was to behead him? Maybe an Inquisitor walks in, sees the body in half-alive, half-dead state and whips out his axe. I'm sorry, but the idea that beheading someone is the method to make that person heal is utterly hilarious to me XD "What are you doing?!" "The Lord Ruler has been wounded, my duty is to help him!" "By CUTTING HIS HEAD OFF?! Are you INSANE?!"
