  1. Yeah, that sounds good. These birds use air magic to help themselves fly. One of their coming of age ceremonies is when a young bird gets an air amulet that they can wear around their leg. This lets them fly and officially marks them as a juvenile. They're actually bigger than 3 feet -- wingspan is around 8 feet. They have long, narrow wings to help them fly long distances.
  2. I'm on mobile and can't do a lot, so I'm going to put my thoughts here instead. This is all spitballing rough concepts, so please tell me your thoughts. The Corvidae (working name for now) are pretty big birds, about the size of harpy eagles. They have bigger brains to support complex thought. Depending on the physics of this world and how realistic you want it to be, they should be too heavy to fly in a place with Earth gravity. However, this can be handwaved using magic. The Corvidae love shiny things, which are status symbols to them. The more sparkly, the better.
  3. How do I edit the wiki?
  4. Can I work on them as a group instead? I'm thinking that these crow people have no real home and travel all over the place (where allowed by the locals).
  5. I'd like to join this group. I have an idea for a bird people loosely based off of corvids. They're travelling merchants/scavengers.
  6. Maybe you could serve some chouta? If anyone here is a good cook, you might be able to come up with a recipe for it.
  7. To everyone who has heard mentions of Snakes, or Paranoia, or Trust, and has no idea what those things are, here's an explanation. Paranoia began as a simple joke in the LG23 elim doc. El, one of the elims, was waiting for turnover. Alv made a remark about it, and El took it one step further. Alv and Wilson built on that and tormented El with mentions of Paranoia the Snake for the rest of the doc. Since then, Paranoia and Trust have been part of the overarching metanarrative. This page is dedicated to Elbereth's overactive imagination, which started it all. Next page in progress
  8. How do the people in the Anomalies come to exist? Are they created by the mind of the Dreamer? Can the Dreamer dictate or control what's in the Anomaly they made?
  9. @Lindel, what actually happens in the Anomalies?
  10. Alright, I won't sign up then. Between now and June 1, I'll be drawing other people's ponies. Please PM me if you want your pony drawn. Descriptions (what the pony looks like, their personality, their history, their cutie mark, etc) would be very helpful.
  11. Hero, I'm not sure I want to join yet. It depends on how long this MR is going to take, since my internet access cuts off June 1 or 2.
  12. I guess most of us fantasy and sci-fi readers are doomed, then. What physically happens to someone whose mind is trapped in an Anomaly?
  13. How did you make this? It looks really nice.
  14. Heh... a lot of the time I don't even write enough to get to a big important scene. I have a lot of half-thought out ideas for large projects, but most of the time my motivation fizzles out by the end of the first few chapters. I usually end up sticking to smaller projects and jumping around a lot.
  15. In LG26, there was a role called Bleeder that was semi-aligned with God's Own Hate, the elim faction. One of the things that GOH could do was to kill Bleeder anytime, Day or Night. Bleeder died the moment one of the GMs read the order from GOH.
  16. Do you have a link to that story? I saw a little bit of what you wrote, and it seemed pretty interesting.
  17. NeLaar arrived in the University with the crowd, just another student in a sea of bodies. To the untrained eye, they looked exactly like the locals. However, with close enough scrutiny, one could spot some oddities. NeLaar frequently glanced over their shoulder, as if watching out for someone. Though they were fluent in the language, sometimes they would mix up a few idioms. And sometimes, very occasionally, they would still flinch if someone uttered the words “ruin” or “odium” or “shard”. Still, this world was safer than any other they had found. First, it was outside of the Cosmere, far beyond the reach of their enemies. Second, despite being far away from any of the Shards, it was permeated with its own Investiture and had magics such as Sympathy, or Naming. With hard work, talent, and a little bit of luck, one could study those magics, for uses both defensive and offensive. Third, there were legends of kandra-like creatures here, which the locals called Skindancers. NeLaar could blend in amongst them. Of all the places to hide from two Shards, this planet was certainly the best. Unfortunately, it still had its own little drama, just like every other place NeLaar had visited. There was a certain tension in the air, one of anticipation, scheming, and skullduggery. NeLaar knew, without a doubt, that soon someone would be murdered, and those affected would begin to turn on themselves in an effort to catch the murderers. Some would survive this process. Most wouldn’t. That was just how the world worked, even outside of the Cosmere. It was inevitable. The past few times, NeLaar had had no choice but to get involved. Now, however, they were warier. They knew to avoid getting embroiled in the world’s latest and greatest case of mass hysteria. This time, NeLaar had found a front-row seat, and they had already bought the popcorn. I'm not signing up for this game, but I'll be watching a bit. I'll definitely read the writeups, and might skim over the rest of the game, depending on how much time I have.
  18. Maybe there could also be separate leaderboards for each topic? That way, someone could look at the theory leader boards and see who has the most rep there, or who has the most rep in the Reckoners RP, or SE.
  19. Don't worry, Rae rhymes perfectly with slay. I'd just prefer not to be on the receiving end of that action.
  20. Just letting you know, I'm Rae. My RP character is Rhea. Still, that's kind of harsh. What have I ever done to you? I haven't even placed a (successful) kill order on anyone!
