Mice are the only species known to purchase a planet, then inhabit it with bipedal life forms who spend all their time trying to find ways to waste their time.

I believe that you are referring to the limelights in book one. From reading the annotations, that is something that was done back in Shakespearian times, and suggested by someone who was a bit of a history nut, I forget the name.

Also, it was meant to have Sazed realize that he was the one who needed to take the Shards.

Harmony shouldn't be given a bad rep for this. Harmony isn't honorable, it isn't loving, it is simply maintaining a balance. Sazed could have told Wax who the person was (avoiding spoilers), but Wax was the only one who could have stopped her, and Sazed couldn't have risked him trying to solve the problem another way. Also, Sazed is still a child by Shard standards. He might not know the best way to maintain his intent yet, and probably doesn't have much experience seeing the future. Basically, Harmony doesn't mean that every story ends in a happily ever after, it means that everyone continues, everyone changes, things end, new things begin, but the world keeps spinning and keeps going. Change can come from good times, but it also comes-often more effectively-through bad times. Wax going through a hard time might clash with the kind, loving scholar we know, but he isn't the Sazed we knew anymore. He is more than Preservation, he is Harmony.

Especially considering that Ruin might not have known that the prophecy was important, or that it was an actual prediction.

More like a Shardholder versus a full Knight Radiant.

This thread has been derailed into a humorous but accurate representation of government.

He is probably a squire at this point, but I think it's possible that he will become a Willshaper.

I don't think so on the Stormlight, but the idea about Nightblood is a definite possibility.

Someone posted something somewhere about what would happen if someone were spiked with a Hemalurgic spike made from Odium's God metal. I think it's unlikely that Odium would invest himself so much, but that may be what it would do.

There are different types of intelligence. What you refer to as common sense could be unthought of to a scholar. If somebody had suggested it to Sazed I'm sure he would have done it, but by himself, his first thought was to obtain knowledge.

I just had an idea for a civilization that lives in a volcano. An active one, they cook their food over the lava. Obviously, magic plays a large part in this society.

Random Stuff V - The Adminpire Strikes Back
Stormgate replied to Orlion Blight's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
According to Chaos, the Shard should be safe, as he has in no unclear terms banned discussion of the new Star Wars outside of spoiler boards. -
Remember, he Lashes other objects. He would be quite stupid and very dead to do it to himself.

There is a game Returned play that seems to make about as much sense, but. I can't remember the name. Lightsong beat everyone by basically not knowing how to play. -

That is awesome. No wonder they became the ruling class. -
Wayne is right. Well done, your turn.

You are known for comical statements, and I am now known for not reading the thread all the way through.

If you haven't noticed, Sanderson is quite fast at writing books, but even monsters like those take time. BTW, despite similarities, Reckoners is NOT Cosmere. Also, you might be interested in The Rithmatist, basically an alternative Earth where the magic system is based on chalk drawings.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Stormgate replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Last winter, here in Utah, we didn't get much winter. It showed up late and turned into spring rainfalls. So this year, apparently we are collecting on some interest or something, because on Tuesday we had school delayed two hours because of snowfall. So yay for snow! -
I'm not going to comment on global warming, because that gets me angry, and I prefer focusing on preventing anger than dealing with it if/when it happens. Mainly because at this point, I don't know how to control my anger. So I don't get angry, and I have no anger to control.
